I bought my first home in 2018 at the age of 35 on a single income despite not having a good paying job until fairly recently. It took me several decades to save up for it. I refrained from owning a car until years after I bough said home (i estimate I saved about $10,000/yr doing this), never spent money on anything (restaurants, digital subscriptions, vacations, weed, alcohol, tobacco, gifts, etc during that time). Had roommates for the first few years. Now subdividing a large lot and starting my first development. If you want to make it you have to make sacrifices, no one is coming to save you.

'Several' decades? According to your claim you are 41 now. Decade is 12 years, how many decades exactly?😂

I made 120k in 2024 and was not able to afford a detached home because my income was too low. I understand a single income making things tough but at the same time... I was in the top 10% of income earners in Canada for crying out loud. What part of top 10% and income too low to but a detached home sounds acceptable? Lol.
Oh well, still working on it. Rates came down so im just barely able to squeak by now.

It's a human nature in the new generation that they ' must ' have huge house, huge truck 100k and of course the big boat right a way too 😂 oh and nice big camper hooked up to the big track, of course! 😂😂😂

It’s better than the alternative, own nothing, be happy and just let a handful of elites own it all.
