I agree with Mr. Robinson. A person would be afraid to use Keith's garage for fear of getting it dirty but as Classic Mini Culture says each to his own. Your video will be invaluable to someone wanting to know how to take a hydrolastic system apart. Cheers.
Thanks for this video, it's very useful. It proved that the original drawing from the original BMC manual shows the bracket, the one that screws to the front subframe that goes behind the front displacer, is shown upside down. The same incorrect drawing has made it's way into books and online shop drawings (the usual suppliers) so I was being mislead and was trying to re-asemble it upsde down. It's not possible to assemble it that way. Your video put me right so a big thanks.
each to his own......never apologies for your man gave👍, I always found the hydro a strange part of the original design, especially when you look at the design brief, (keeping it simple and economical), I guess this is one area that the engineers won over the accountants🤪
Great video Mark. You'll be watched all over the RUclips WORLD on how to remove a WET SUPPENION.There just not any out there. That will be very helpfull if mine ever needs work on my 1967MK1 998 COOPER.Also, over here in America they call them hydro bags. Thanks, and keep up with the great Videos ROBERT NEHRBASS
Thanks Robert, appreciate the comments. If it helps a few people then it was worth the time. I know a lot of people already knew, but i didn't and there are bound to be more that don't. 😎
@@andrewleach8134, Thank you. It's a debate that can go on and on, but i actually like the ride so will keep it original. I wouldn't change a dry car to wet though.
Hi Mark, thanks so much for doing this video, it has just helped me removed all 4 displacers from my dads mint ‘66 super deluxe after hose burst and the collapse damaged the NS rear arch 😔. Can I ask where you got your displacers serviced?
@@classicminiworkshop many thanks, hoping once they’re done the car will sit level too, as was far too low at front and high at back, and never could get it right.
Some of the displacer units differ front to rear there is a part number stamped on the side A21 ******** which identifies which orientation they go. As a said some are the same most aren't.
greetingd--- i have a mini from 1980... i want to transform to hidrolkastic wet a dry suspention... because i use a mg 1300 wiyh that.. is posible???? in my contry have a lot of mini fibre with hidrolastics, maibe the front need more work.... seeyou
Too many cars? That’s not a bad problem to have. Great video as always.
Thank you. First world problems. 😂

Thanks Midge. I'm not great with 'How to' videos, but hopefully some will find it useful. 🙂

Glad it has been useful. I'm nearly 3 years in and starting to rebuild these so the videos i made are actually helping me too. 😅
Hiya Mark-great video. Keep going mate. Stay well.
Thanks, you too!
Thank you Dave. 😎
another great video and yes the Hydro displacers are a c**t to get out if a 1st timer
Thanks Mark. Yes, like most things, once you know you know.
15:00 can't believe those "trumpets" are so narrow compared with the rubber style trumpets! Hydrolastic scares me lol

I do wish to have a Mclaren type clean garage, but never seem to achieve it. 😂
I've tried to achieve that several times, but it always goes back to dirty🤪

Why not convert to dry suspension. Far better ride. Great channel.
Thanks. The ride can be quite subjective, it's much more comfortable than a mini on rubber cones but it's not as great for handling in my opinion

a 1980 mini should be dry suspension originally.
Einstein said a cluttered desk is a sign of genius, does that apply to cluttered garages?
Yes, I believe it does LOL
You should see my desk! 😅 I know where everything is but Lucy says my office and desk is a shite hole. 😂 I'm definitely a genius if you see it.🤓
2:25 empty coat hanger so your place ain't full lol. Sorry Keith but i would have Marks garage over yours...........Mark.....you have a big one lol
😂 Thanks Paul. Not even sure why the coat hanger is in there. 😂
