650 is an excellent lift. The design has been around since the 80's and it is super simple. It is power by a Bucher pump, which is used in about 80% of the lift industry and the lift has no limit switches or circuit boards that could fail. You can't get a more basic lift then this. If you are lifting anything under 500 lbs it is probably the reliable lift you can get. Also since they have brackets for most vans so it can easily be transferred to other vehicles if you want to change vans in the future
I would be interested to know what issues the person is having. If it is electrical It would mostlikey be a poor battery connection or ground. Otherwise, the person's lift might not of been properly installed. Which would cause difficulty in locking the lift in place or folding
The lift with install and tax is under $5k. Mercedes likes to have the installer add a 2nd battery on the vehicle when using a lift gate so that does add some cost.
@@octanoszeus Tommy states its 600 lbs. I tend to feel if you are going over 500 lbs you should use the Tommy V2 style lift or the CVL . Those lifts are more heavy duty
I tried to get one installed in my NV 200 locally and was told the 650 had a lot of issues what your experience with the actual gate?

Excellent vehicle to use for small medical machines or copiers. This customer use it to transport a Mohs medical machine
