It's so awesome, two voices that'd be Elsa's native language's voices (if we assume she was bilingual in Arendellian and Northuldran), two women that sound great together, perfection
Actually, I think Norwegian is her mother tongue. I read an article about her saying that she learned Sami as an adult, although she is of Sami heritage. I find this extremely inspiring, especially for people who want to learn their heritage languages and reconnect with their roots. You never know where it can take you! Amas du vuordá! The unknown awaits you! 😍
@@thepokeglot8529 Really? :O Congrats to her then! :D That's similar to the girls finding out their mom's origins as adults, one reason more I guess she should've been the Norwegian Elsa ;)
@@thepokeglot8529 So like Elsa's mum...... because Elsa's mum is the equivalent of being Sami.
@@user-bx5qr5ow2j Not quite, since if we use equivalents, Iduna's native language is Sami.
They need to get her to record “Let It Go” in Sami.
this is so moving, I'm in joyful, nostalgic tears :') so much passion, connection, unity...this song has always lifted and healed me, and I ADORE this performance, our original Elsas!!
I love the Sami singer and her powerful voice! I also liked Norwegian elsa, her voice felt very magical
How I wish Aurora was there! Nevertheless, these ladies are great!
Imagine going back to the 1960s and telling a Sami person that by 2020 this would be possible
@@stevethevagabond5151 Nice to see you here, Steve :)
@Plushie senpai hopefully this movie will be another step forward for reconsideration between the Sami and Bokmål Norwegians
@weirdowarrior Hello. So please excuse my incredible ignorance but is there a difficult relationship between the Sami and the Norwegian people? I would like to learn about this.
@@laurenphillips8746 Sámi people were forced into norwegianization. Sami women have been forced to be sterilized, and Sami languages were forbidden for many years. Now the discrimination Sami people face everyday in Norway, Finland and Sweden is still very strong...but it slowly gets better and Sami culture is more respected little by little
I absolutely adore the Northern Sami versions of all the songs in Frozen 2. I am part Northern Sami on my Grandfathers side, and i would love to learn the language. I remember him denying any Sami connection, saying we were Finnish and that was it.
it looks as if the older generation of Sami doesn't like to claim they are Sami, but Finnish. I love learning about other cultures and other languages so I'm curious. Is there a reason for this situation?
@@laurenphillips8746 Yes the reason is because they denied their own culture for fear of being vilified. They were looked down on for generations by Nordic countries as 'filthy idiots' and their belief system mocked. It was illegal for them to sing their traditional 'Joik' (singing to spirits) and also the language was banned. They were spat on, rocks thrown at them, they couldn't get jobs..they changed their surnames and stopped speaking their language... all sorts. There was an enormous amount of hate directed towards them... so they didn't want to admit they were Sami.
@@laurenphillips8746 Yes, it is. Malignant cultural suppression and discrimination: Unshaming my indigenous heritage | Mari Boine | TEDxBærekraftigeliv
ruclips.net/video/eDYZRGWMacM/видео.html
@@laurenphillips8746 Often the reason has been cultural oppression and stigmatisation. Many chose to give up on Sámi identity rather than to embrace it. There are many stories out there of people making that choice. It’s even the plot of the 2016 drama film Sami Blood.
Yes, a lot of Sámi denied being Sámi at earlier days because of all they had to go through in the past. I wrote a paper about the treatment of the Sámi in Norway in the 19th century.
Hello. I beg you.
Please release a CD with all foreign versions as you did with let it go. It would be amazing and it would be a polyglot dream! Thanks!!!!!

Marianne is amazing - a perfect Elsa!

It should be illegal to be as amazing as Lisa Stokke is.
I would probably rank her somewhere around 50 of the 57 people who have participated as the role of Elsa. She's not great in my opinion.
@@8is Everyone is entitled to their opinion of course, but what makes you say that? In my personal list, Lisa is my number 1 Elsa, far above Idina Menzel (thought that's not very hard)... but even above Willemijn Verkaik (which says a lot because I am a huge fan of her).
@@ForestHag Norwegian is one of those versions that found themself in the Idina trap. They basically try to make a good performance rather than trying to perfectly embody the character and thus they strive away from the character. I think singing good (whatever that may be) comes second after acting and their expression of emotion. Now don't get me wrong, Lisa has emotion-likewise with Idina-but I find them misplaced; it's as if she is playing herselöf rather than the character. And combine that with the fact that I really don't like her voice in the first place; that really doesn't make it for me to like her like at all (I love sentence building ;D). What do you think about Annika (first and second movies)?
@@8is Ah I guess that is where we disagree then. I loved Lisa's version of this song because it was sung beautifully and it didn't feel flat. Whereas Idina sounded emotionless and screamy and not at all well performed. But then again I cannot stand her voice. In my opinion singing good is just as important as voice acting. If I listen to Willemijn's version (Dutch) I can hear she tried to sound more emotional in the song and it really did not do the performance of the song any good. I have not listened to Annika well enough to form an opinion on her tbh.
@@ForestHag So what are your favorite Annas?
it’s so cool that movies are translated to sami
the is the only one ever
@@kaiosantos2976no this is the only Disney movie to be translated to sami

Just beautiful
These singers are the best at into the unknown!!!!
Debatable, the Norwegian one is the worst in my opinion. She sounds way too old and nasally for Elsa, and doesn’t fit at all. Now the Sami version is where it’s at, but the Norwegian Elsa, no offense, but it’s just not good.
@@Yams-Hams7734 your opinion
They are really greaaat to the point I don't even know if they are dubbing elsa or elsa is dubbing them.. what a masterpiece!
This is amazing!
Love it! ❤️❤️❤️
holy heck! that was amazing.
The both are amazing and great ♥♥♥♥
Amazing!
It's sad that most rankings put these two near the middle or the bottom, because honestly, both of them are amazing!
I realise that it’s mostly the prejudice of hearing Norwegian for all the banal everyday stuff and Sámi being mostly reserved for closer and more intimate relationships, and for quiet conversations in dark places about life, death and family, but the difference in gravitas between the two languages in this performance is astronomical. There’s a reason we call it the language of the heart.
This is so sweet
So beautiful :)

Herregud så nydelig!
Kan väl säga att Lisa's sång är luftigare men kombon med Marianne är fantastisk.
I would say that Lis's voice is airier but the combo with Marianne is fantastic.

Wow
These are the native languages of Elsa and Anna
Nope
No because Anna and Elsa didn't grow up with the Northuldrans and their culture. Which means they grew up speaking Norwegian
wow they are so beautiful women and have so beautiful voice, this is perfection
This is how it was meant to be in my humble opinion
I love you
It would be fun to see them switch languages

Can someone please educate me… so Sami are the indigenous of norway?
Sami is the indigenous people that live across Norway, Sweden, Finland ans Russia, the area they live is called Sapmi and there are around 100,000 sami people

yes, i find myself understanding norwegian sometimes lol
We(Norway) were actually under sweedens «Rule» for some decades. So i think we kindof have adopted some of the same words. We norvegians understand swedish, almost as good as our own language, since they are so alike.

But why is sami so finnish type.
