Saturday Apr. 3rd I covered a ton of water on Norman. 1.5lb spots everywhere.. Did end up locating a few nice largemouths mid lake. Ranging from 2 to 3.5 lbs. They were in 5 to 8ft. They bit a finesse jig and a shakey head. Could not get bit on a crank or spinnerbait and it was breezy.. Had a great day though.
That's good info. I'll use those tips tomorrow. I might just have to slow down
@@landonmoore76 Hope it helped
Thanks for the video! What kind of swimbait were you throwing at the beginning of the video?
It was a robo worm ez shad I've had it forever. I'm not sure they still make them
good video man! I know it wasn't the fish you were hoping for but I enjoyed watching the catches! wife showed me a picture of you down on my home pond santee cooper. Was that recent?
Yeah I went to Santee Monday and Tuesday. It'll be a good video coming up.
@@landonmoore76 nice man! i havn't been down there in 20 years, it's where I learned to fish though. I'm still planning on taking the little boat out for the tournament tomorrow haha, I'm putting a 5gallon propane tank in it with a heater for the first hour or two since I wont be running far from the landing anyway.
I'm sure Mike will win 2 hours or so at Badin 😆. The cold front will make it tough but it might level the playing field
@@landonmoore76 yeah what else is new lol... I think he is better on badin than he is norman.
@@yatesbaitstv6796 for sure he's the Yadkin chain hammer
Dwight and his son Doug are both good on that lake, I work with Doug
Are boat cashed 2 checks my buddy Mike got 2nd w a 4.13 and I got 5th w a 3.61
You guys were on the the right fish. I just had a bad tournament
Can't wait for the santee videos
It went better than these days. That place is awesome my favorite lake by far
@@landonmoore76 I've never got to go down there but want to
I heard all he caught was a gator and a snake
2 things: First, I've seen 7 pounders caught on the catawba chain on a dropshot with a mini-fluke. Second, don't beat yourself up man some days are just bad. Thanks for the video.
Exactly, ive seen bigger fish caught on the summer in finesse and throughout the catawba chain than alot of places.
Yeah I shouldn't have been scared to finesse fish. I'll learn from it and get better. You have to stay positive in these tournaments that's for sure. Thanks for watching
What jighead were you using for the shakey head?

Hang in there, you'll get a big win this year. Like Iaconelli famous saying goes (Never Give Up).
Exactly I learned alot this tournament I'll use that next time. Fishing should get great soon
Tough weekend. You will get them next time. Tuesday was really good down south. Like you said fish under every dock, well almost.
I'll learn from the this tournament. The south end is fishing way better it seems like. I was at Santee this week. That video will be better
Man brother, your not the only one having a tough time. Its has been one heck of a strange spring for me! Besides a 5 1/2 pounder the other day, I haven’t caught much of anything worth mentioning. I just keep telling myself, it can’t do anything but get better. I think once we get some weather stability things will pick up.
It's has to get better eventually 😆. A 5.5lb bass is a good one that makes the whole spring about.
@@landonmoore76 Yeah, that one fish has really helped me keep my mind in the game! I'm chomping at the bit to get my boat back out of the shop...its killing me!
Man....what a heart breaker of a tournament. You had done so well leading up to it, I really thought you were going to do well. Sorry man. You will get them next time. Can't wait to see what you come up with next, as it is always good stuff. Thanks for posting!
Who dey!!!
Thanks for watching. It was tough but I'll learn from it and get them next time. The next video will be from Santee
Glad I skipped trying to fish Norman this past weekend. I thought it was all launched out of Pinnacle. Was disappointed because I've been grinding out college work for weeks and finally getting a break with decent weather and there's a tournament. Decided to go down to Mountain Island and between my dad and I we caught a 5 fish limit between 17-18lbs of all spots, one of my best days. Hope fishing other lakes gives you as much luck as it did I.
That's a huge bag of spots. I know when the current is going on that lake they kill. I'll have to fish mtn Island soon
Good video. We figured out how to fish NC. We moved to Okeechobee. Stay after them
I just got done fishing Santee. Fishing in swamps around alligators is awesome I need to move to Florida
@@landonmoore76 at least come down and let us take you fishing. Watch our latest video. Donkeys and GOAT
Great job
Thanks it was tough but I know where I messed up. I'll learn from it
What’s up buddy, is that a Diawa legalis spinning reel or the newer LT? I’ve had my legalis 3500H for probably 8 yrs and it’s still buttery smooth!
It's a diawa exceler and I've been impressed with it. The drag is very smooth great reel for the price
We fished the first day down low and had the same results as you did. Second day we went up in the mud and won an hour. I think most of the big ones were caught in that dirty water.
I should have stayed in the mud and trusted my instincts. You do well every big bass don't you lol. I should have just stayed positive. I'm just not used to going that long without bites.
We get lucky during the big bass tournament. 2 of my 3 biggest bass on Norman were during these tournaments. We try not to fish for numbers and just go for broke. We try to only throw big baits and put the finesse lures down. We decided at the end of the first day that we were leaving he clear water and throwing big baits all day and didn’t plan to get many bites but figured they’d be the right ones and luckily it paid off. Kicking myself for not doing that the first day.
@@747pos that's why you catch big ones in the big bass. That was my plan for 3 hours lol then I scratched that. I should have known better
Hang tough you will get them . Have you ever tried a Berkley Choppo? Those things are money . 120 size is my choice.
I'll learn from this, I know what I did wrong. Yeah I've done well with the 90 choppo I'll have to try the 120.
It’s been tough lately . It gets better
Yes it'll get good soon, I been saying that for weeks though 😆. I'll learn from this one and get them next time
I’m guessing you skipped the Tuesday tournament? I put in at Queen’s at daylight and pulled out into the lake. The surface was covered with logs, limbs, timbers, and all kinds of trash from the storms. You could not run half throttle fearing you would hit something and spin a prop. I putted around fishing, caught one dink, and pulled the boat out at 10:00. Went down to Beatty’s Ford and the water was clear and clean of debris. Caught 3 keepers on that end of the lake. The water level is back up now but chocolate milk and trashy around the 150 bridge and further north. Good luck at other lakes. I see videos from Lake James and the bass are biting there.
Yeah I missed out Tuesday I was at Santee. I heard some big weights caught Tuesday surprisingly. The lower lakes seems better lately. Hopefully the lake clears up by the time I go back. Thanks for watching
its crazy how the same guy who won last year won again this year some luck he had
He's just that good I guess. He must really have something figured out on Norman.
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Thanks for the support
Dang man.
