  • The Carlsbad Desalination Project will provide San Diego County with a locally-controlled, drought-proof supply of high-quality water that meets or exceeds all state and federal drinking water standards. After ten years of planning and six years in the state's permitting process, the Carlsbad Desalination pipeline has now received final approvals from every required regulatory and permitting agency in the state, including the California Coastal Commission, State Lands Commission and Regional Water Quality Control Board. A 30 year Water Purchase Agreement is in place between the San Diego County Water Authority and Poseidon for the entire output from the plant. Construction has already started and is expected to be complete in mid-2016.

i love this video too. i live in las vegas and was feeling bad california is getting cut off of useing the colorado river, but now i know why, they need to be supplying us out in the nevada desert with water, lol not the dessert supplying the worlds largest water reservoir, california next to the ocean, with water. i would like to see clean water flowing this way, out to the desert in the future ,after seeing this video. this should be ran like a power station. like turning on the lights, we need to flush the toilet. if there are people their, with power, there also should be water. the canals are built, put large pipes in them, large pumps, and turn the flow towards las vegas and the desert region. people will pay 2 or 3 times the going rate. 2 time for cleaning the
salt, and 3 times for the pumping

There is a new invention: Process of converting seawater to hydrogen, piping it and reforming it to freshwater that converts seawater into freshwater AND transfer it inland at minimal cost. It can be powered by solar cells. This investment would last generations and would avoid the uncertain weather.

If we were to build a Floating city using recycled plastics and barges to create floats. A floating city to place a desalination plant. Creating Global employment. Cleaning up the world around. By putting a bounty on all plastics.

In order for a government to spend money into an economy, it must first TAKE money from the economy so no Bootstrapping will not benefit you.
