My parents are retired from the US and they are both collecting Annuity Pensions, IRA and Social Security Retirement pay for a total of about $77, 800 USD. Both are american citizens . Dad is pure American & my Mom was born in the Philippines & has dual citizenship. They are both in their mid 60's. My question is, can they buy a house at that age in the PI (with a loan)& if so how much house can they buy, down payment, etc.? Thanks! Justin

Hi Sir Justin. If thru Pagibig financing, an applicant must not be more than 65 years old at the time of processing of loan. and maturity of loan is at maximum 70 years old. meaning if they are 60 years old and they will loan a house, max is 10 years term.

First off , thank you for your response! We are a bit disappointed that the financing companies in the Philippines is almost saying straight to your face, you're too old to buy a house so we can't finance you. As I said they are both retired so they are 65 years old and just wanted to enjoy their remaining golden years in my Mom's country. I'm sorry; however, the financing rules that you just quoted is discriminatory! These will not remotely happen here in the USA.
