- The leader of the APJ summarizes the mission of the AJP, which is to bring peace, justice and self-determination to Ambazonia, through negotiations with the Cameroon government, and explains why he took the lead in unveiling the Peace Plan Initiative.
Keep up the wonderful work Prof Asongu we are with you and through diplomatic means we shall breakthrough
Hello Professor Asongu I,m happy to see and hear you in this point in life. I still see you talking and learning in GHS Kumbo in the early 80,s.
Hi Joan: Nice to read from you too. I hope we can reconnect. You can get to me at chair@aforpeace.org.
Duff hat to Mr Asongu. First time listening to a "leader" who doesn't hurl divisive insults and innuendos at the others. Very qualified credentials, too.
That said, I get the impression he doesn't think we have a say in how this marriage to our abuse spouse, LRC, ends. At the beginning there was a federation of two equal enties, LRC and SC, with a flag with 2 stars symbolizing that union. It was called FRC. FRC is no more. But, LRC is! In as much as we all want peace, LRC cannot be allowed to think they SCs are part of it's territory, because it never was. It is through our unflinching resistance to LRC and our determination to bring our case to international consciousness and hence a fair settlement, that LRC is now only just acknowledging our case. We cannot negotiate with our oppressor ON THEIR TERMS! We all want an end to the misery, but LRC must not, must never, be allowed to dictate our destiny.
@richardngwa2519, you have aptly presented the situation between Southern Cameroon and lrc in the later part of your post here above. However, there is a point at the beginning that you may have to research more on and better understand. This has to do with Southern Cameroon joining lrc and forming a federal union of two states equal in status. From historical and legal perspectives, it is VERY CLEAR that:
1) NO JOINING HAS EVER TAKEN PLACE between Southern Cameroon and la Republique du Cameroun. International law clearly states that for 2(or more) peoples/territories (especially if one or all are independence and sovereign) to for a union recognized by international law, those concerned MUST PEACEFULLY NEGOTIATE AND SIGN A UNION TREATY AND DEPOSITE COPY AT THE UN SECRETARIAT. Such a thing has never happened between Southern Cameroon and la Republique du Cameroun. When la Republique du Cameroun got independence on 1st January 1960 and joined the UN on 20th September 1970, Southern Cameroon was not part of them. Recall (or be informed) that lrc vited against UNGA resolution 1608(xv) of 21st April 1961 which prescribed the contraption of “independence by joining ” and laid out the process of how it was going to happen. The terms of UNGA resolution 1608(xv) have never been implemented.
2) Flowing from point 1 here above, there was never a federal union between Southern Cameroon and la Republique du Cameroun. A federal union could not have existed without a union treaty. La Republique du Cameroun simply ignored international law, forcefully and illegally occupied Southern Cameroon on 1st October 1961 and pretended to run a federal union of two states equal in status between 1st October 1961 to 20th May 1972 when lrc once more organized another illegality in the name of a referendum. On 4th February 1984, Paul Biya signed a decree withdrawing lrc from the pending process of forming a federal union of two states equal in status between Southern Cameroon and lrc and restored lrc to it's status of 1st January 1960.
Let's get the facts (historical and legal) as accurate as possible so as to avoid unnecessary confusion.
Thank you my son. What a soft spoken gentleman?I pray the rest should understand with you.
Capo Daniel family 👪
What is your solution? To continue to fight and get killed by la republiq ekelebes? Or are you among those who are feeding fat from the war? Have you lost a family member? Do you have refugee in your family?
Great job Prof but my worry is that handling the anglophone issue as minority issue changes all the historical arguments that are linked to the crise!!!
Where are the videos of you in the UN, you people should stop all this your games. Everyone is trying to be famous capo Daniel gang.
May God strengthen you and your term🎉
@CharlesAnku-n2g, God cannot strengthen anybody who is engaged on any project/mission that does not have it's foundation anchored on TRUTH, JUSTICE AND RESPECT FOR HUMAN RIGHTS IN ALL IT'S REALMS. What JJ Asongu and his friends are embarked on does not have a foundation of TRUTH, justice and respect for the fundamental rights of Southern cameroonians. It is a scam sponsored by lrc.
First of all, what is the use of the so many groups in the struggle of Ambazonians
Southern cameroonians did not mandate you to speak for them.
Ahead ahead sir we pray for peace
Stop praying for peace and work for justice by upholding the TRUTH, respecting the law and respecting human rights in all it's realm.
YOU CAN NEVER HAVE PEACE IN THE ABSENCE OF JUSTICE !
@ZhuhPrincelyzing
Ur statement is a very foolish one.
Only dull, lazy, foolish people will be praying for peace, while in ruins and suffering damages.
What about Justice ?
One needs reparations and compensations before peace can come.
Justice brings peace.
Peace should be the last and least thing to be asked.
How do you achieve autonomy through cessation of hostilities? You cannot call on people fighting in selfdefence to cease hostilities when you have not called on the aggressor to stop hostilities.. You apparently are playing a game in favor of lrc.
Southern cameroonians want their independence sovereignty and not a flag.
By what mechanism is Southern Cameroon internationally recognized as part of la Republique du Cameroun? This is the statement that completely exposes you. There is no union treaty between Southern Cameroon and la Republique du Cameroun. International law clearly states that the territorial integrity of each country is defined and frozen as per the boundaries acquired at date of independence. The boundaries of la Republique du Cameroun on 1st January 1960 did not include Southern Cameroon. Please, don't take Southern cameroonians for cretin imbeciles.
Why not fight this with the British and the fake UN? That’s where all our forces and energy should be channeled. Instead people have resorted to targeting their own breed and causing havoc to the common man on the street.
It's not violence that brings autonomy. An contrary to your assertion, we have always called on both sides to ceasefire. Listen to our presentation at the UN and other writings. We want to get engage LRC in a negotiated settlement. See one of our recent press releases:
Buea | London: Wednesday, December 4, 2024 - The Alliance for Peace & Justice (APJ) in the Former British Southern Cameroons today announced that it has created nine Committees to work on the implementation of the Peace Plan Paper (PPP), which the organization adopted on November 17, 2024. Each Committee will be chaired by a member of APJ Steering Committee, but members would be drawn from experts and volunteers from within the Former British Southern Cameroons community and beyond.
There are nine APJ Committees, each of which has been tasked with the implementation of specific areas of the proposed peace plan. The Committees are:
1. Independence Referendum
2. Legislative and Judicial Reforms
3. Policing and Justice System Improvement
4. Reconstruction of Burned Villages, Schools, and Health Facilities
5. Reintegration of Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)
6. Economic Development
7. Citizenship and Cultural Preservation
8. Cessation of Hostilities and Rehabilitation of Ex-Combatants
9. Establishment of a Truth and Reconciliation Commission
“Apart from identifying the nine Committees, APJ is also engaging with individual and organizational stakeholders to help implement the PPP,” said Professor Januarius Asongu, chair of the APJ Steering Committee. “APJ seeks to represent all viewpoints within the Former British Southern Cameroons. Effective stakeholder engagement is essential to securing broad support for the peace plan and obtaining expert input across its various implementation areas. NGOs, universities, professional groups, cultural and development organizations, community groups, alumni associations, and women’s organizations are critical partners in this process. They should play a pivotal role not only in mobilizing community support but also in informing and influencing the successful implementation of the peace plan.”

Those you are accusing of haven left your consultations because they failed to obtain money have come out to debunk your allegations. It's your word against theirs.
How did they debunk it? Did they provide you a statement from ICO saying that I was wrong? You need to learn more about what qualifies as evident. However, I don't want to be bordered by detractors. I just keep marching on...
@AllianceforPeaceJustice-k5k , did you provide evidence from ICO proving that they asked for money? You made some unsubstantiated statements and they refuted your allegations. At that stage, their disclaimer and explanation of what happened is enough to debunk your unsubstantiated claims. It is your words against theirs.
