- In this episode of The Lateral Line, the FlyFin boat is in for its first service, so the boys are once again beating their feet into land-based fishing spots. With December being one of the best months in New Zealand to target kingfish from the rocks, the timing couldn’t be better.
This fishing mission involves exploring one of their favourite land-based fishing spots, and as the day unfolds, the action heats up. By the end of the trip, the boys experience the best land-based kingfish action they’ve seen in 2024!

Marco boats use to do any work we needed done on the Sojourn but we had to take the Suzuki for servicing at a Suzuki agent for warranty purposes ect. Well, I was watching this (I have enjoyed so many of your videos) thinking that I would like to try it when I have an opportunity in my motorhome. But there was not enough information to put a rig together. Surely it would only take a minute to discuss it as you're getting it set up, or while one is watching the other fishing. Thanks for responding.
Again, people switch off when we speak about gear/rigs ect people don’t like the advertising. So, if there is something you want to know then ask away 😁 we mostly fish with Daiwa Saltigas and matching Saltiga rods and keep our rigs as simple as possible. Braid to match the reel size, FG knot to join braid to leader then tie on a shape bit of choice with improve clinch knots when using mono and uni knots when using fluorocarbon. Doesn’t need to be much more complicated then that 😎 chur

By the way, the reason why most fish would attack Lure when it is rough is because there is typically a lot of white water that white water usually causes them to be more actively feeding and likely to take a fish or bait because it makes it easier for them to get the bait
