Awesome! Be sure to update the firmware before doing anything! Don’t be too worried about the Limiter light, just don’t overdrive it, since the limiter is to protect the speaker, so it has a ceiling. You will get deeper lows at lower volumes. Be sure to A/B with and without Subs, because you may accidentally set the subs too loud. Let me know your thoughts! I hear that the 712’s are better than the 715’s.
@@Toyrapy The 712 is better since the speaker is a better match for the amp and the pairs better with the subs. The size of the speaker is not as important as the voice coil and displacement. With that in mind a 712 can be louder and more full than a 715. I use 12” for that reason.
@@CaliforniaCreedence appreciate your explanation! I was just wondering how could 710, 712 and 715 share the same specs (1300W peak / 650 RMS) other than the size.
Hello sir!! Been watching your videos about the jbl eon subs and they seem amazing to me. I currently own 2 ZLX 15 and wanted to upgrade to 2 jbl srx 835p to get louder sound and punch. Would you recommend me 2 jbl srx835p with no subs or my 2 ZLX plus 2 jbl eon subwoofers 718?? I would appreciate your opinion on this matter. Thanks
It depends on your application. Truthfully, the SRX 835p’s are dream machines beyond my ability to afford! Eon subs would be a lower cost upgrade and match the lower powered tops you have. Keep in mind that Tops such as SRX may spec out with lower frequencies, but don’t exclusively focus on sub frequencies. LF driver is still oscillating higher frequencies which interferes with sub frequencies. If you are a DJ you may need an overall less powerful system with full range. If you have a full band and want a system that has a big WOW factor but can get by with less efficient sub frequencies, the SRX’s are crazy good!
Thanks so much for asking! My opinion, and it is only an opinion, is that it has to do with your overall priorities. #1 Weight and space = Bose is better, #2 Loudness = JBL is "louder" #3 Frequency Response = Bose is slightly better #4 Power = Bose ONLY IF 1000W is not peak but RMS, however, if Bose is 1000 Peak, the JBL wins on power. If you are wanting louder, lighter, more powerful AND good frequency response all together, you may consider the JBL PRX915XLF, since that will get you close to all three at once. I have 2 JBL Eon 718s, and when put next to each other on the floor in front of the stage, I am satisfied. I also have 2 Turbosound M15B subs for smaller gigs, but their crossover is 90hz, so the tops have to be able to cover that. The 718s is what I use for a larger show. Quick edit addition. I have been doing shows (I am also a sound man for other bands) using the PRX915XLF, and, I notice that there are not many reviews of this speaker. The negative Amazon review is not my experience using the PRX915. The PRX915 surprised me with great performance.
I have not heard the EVs, but with EV they differ radically between models. The EON RMS is 750w but what I like about the EON, that is likely to out perform the EV, is the 3" voicecoil on the EON. A very clean low end. I would not trust a budget EV as much as I would trust a budget JBL.
Loudness wise. Absolutely! I am noticing with these subs a potential valley at one of the sub frequencies. I am testing them tomorrow to see if it's my fault and I need to make an eq adjustment or if the speakers have a weakness. Give me 24 hours to verify. Since getting these subs, audiences have reported the overall level being too loud (sub frequencies boost all frequencies due to higher frequencies riding the sub oscillation, causing an augmentation in db overall). For your tops, the crossover is compatible, but you will need to turn these subs down quite a bit to match your tops. I will report on tomorrows frequency response test. Thanks for asking! I still love passive systems. Not a fan of active systems due to having to power the active speakers at their source as opposed to just running a single speakon cable from a nice crown amp and dbx active crossover for control.
Looks like with a flat eq these subs have a slight valley between 46Hz and 55hz. This can be overcome using the JBL connect app and set eq point 2 to be at 50Hz with a width of 4 and gain of 3db. 80hz is a good crossover point for these subs with your tops based on the specifications of your tops. 100hz crossover may have a noticeable increase in volume at 90-98hz.
Use the jbl connect app, you can't connect like other bluetooth devices. You must use the app. Launch the app then go to the menu on the speaker, go to settings, the top choice is Connect to bluetooth, choose that then go to the app and hit connect (your speaker will show up in the app), in the app you will see "Verifying" then go back to the speaker and hit Yes. You are now connected via Bluetooth.

the Bose sub 2 is equivalent to an 15" sub, no chances against an 18", EON718s will be much louder.
How do these subs compare to the ev elx 118p? Any opinions?

Una pregunta
Porque el bajo me deja encendido el foco de limite aun asi trabajandolo a maximo 4 db
Si ya lo actualize
Espero su respuestas gracias
