IT IS MORE THEN OKAY TO INCLUDE HARRY POTTER ON THE LIST, in fact it is absolutely necessary, because I think that book, that world, has changed the life of almost everyone who has read it!
1. The Simple Living Guide - Janet Luhrs - helped me see slow living and simplicity as my lifestyle choice 2. The Right to Write - Julia Cameron - got me doing "morning pages" which I've now been doing for 20 years! 3. A Big New Free Happy unusual Life - Nina Wise - about enjoying life through play (love!) 4. L.M. Montgomery books as a whole - the glories of nature and beauty opened up in words before me...
"Daring Greatly" by Brene Brown! Taught me a lot about vulnerability, the strength in putting yourself out there, and owning your worthiness! I have a huge fear of failure, and this book taught me to love myself and my efforts because the act of trying (or daring, to reference the title) in itself was worthy, regardless of the outcome.
I think it's incredible that Harry Potter is able to have such a profound impact on people at all stages of life. While I read Harry Potter when I was a child I can still relate to all of the gifts that the series gave you.
I love listening to you. I’m in my 60’s snd I love getting in the world of Harry Potter. I believe the life lessons in those pages go far beyond the words on the pages. I will definitely look into your first recommended book. I look forward to your posts. Please keep sharing
I too am in my 60's and I love this channel. I think so many younger people have such insight into self help, growing to self love which was not acceptable in my youth ( certainly in the UK) and I have worked hard at both. Its OK to be who you are and to show compassion for yourself, to choose and live your own life. So refreshing honest, which I feel in the past there were so many shoulds. Many blessings 🙏❤
If I had not read Harry Potter, like you, I would not have begun reading 80 books a year, learning, loving characters and stories, and I would never have found your channel. And I find so much peace in your channel.
Ooo I love the concept of this video! Books really do have the power to change our minds and perspectives ☀️🧡 There is something so beautiful about words and the way that you put them together to form a story. The most impactful novel I read this year was The Midnight Library!
@@MorganLong I didn't even get to finish it before I had to return it to the library (it was on hold so I couldn't renew it) and even so I can still recommend it. It was amazing!
I started tearing up as soon as you mentioned Harry Potter. I also couldnt get into the series when i was little and read the books just last year. but i can honestly say this series and JK Rowling has changed my life for the best. Thank you so much morgan for bringing so much positivity into this world. also you look absolutely gorgeous in this video. Much love from India
Morgan, thank you so much for your videos.🙏🏻 they make me feel that I am not alone with my worries and fears. You are like the sunshine ☀️. In this hectic world it seems that people are not able to see anything which they are surrounded by. That is why they try to install “ boundaries “ between them and those who they love and those who love them. This year I ‘ ve lost my two best friends because I am not enough for them and too much for them at the same time. So your videos make me feel alive and breath in this life. Know, it is worth it!
Hey, Galina! How are you? I am literally in the same spot as you in my life. Last month my best friend of seven years said she needed space because I am too much for her right now. I don’t want to take the validity of what she said and what she was feeling, but it did make me go into an internal spiral/crisis. I just want to let you know that you ARE loved, you ARE special, your worth doesnt rely on your friends’ approval, you are never lonely cause God is with you and this community has got your back ❤️ keep going!! You are valued for many around you, I am sure!
These are such beautiful words, Larissa ❤️ I hope you feel them all because YOU are loved, YOU are special, and your worth does not rely on your friend's approval. It's a really painful thing when friends fade from our lives. It's natural though-- trust that you deserve someone who will lift you up and care about you just as much as you do about them. You deserve to be accepted for who you truly are.
Just as Larissa said, Galina-- you are more than enough and deserve to be treated with love and respect. It's a really painful thing when friends fade from our lives. It's natural though-- trust that you deserve someone who will lift you up and care about you just as much as you do about them. You deserve to be accepted for who you truly are ❤️
@@larissaprates1384 Larissa, thank you so much for your support and warm words.. The best thing you said is “ you don’t depend on your friend’s approval “ . Why didn’t I think about it before?” Thank you so much🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻 I am really sorry for your situation. 🙏🏻your know, my acquaintance once said: only in the darkness we can see the light.
I bought the crossroads of should and must when you first recommended it and it has helped me a lot so far!!!I’m still at a crossroad of two different lives that I could live and they’re both things I’m interested in but they are so different from each other but that book has helped me tremendously
Literally happiness of the day just loveeeee like how bad is my day or etc there when Morgan comes/upload a video I am just the most happiest person :)
Loved this video; it was so encouraging. Growing up with a tragic childhood, I often turned to books for escape, comfort, and encouragement. At yet another hard-ish time in life, during a temporary circumstance, books have once again helped keep me centered. Loved hearing how these books helped you. :)
Thanks for sharing your list! I'm thinking "The Crossroads of Should and Must" would be a great birthday present for my artistic/visually-oriented 16-year-old who wants very much to live a meaningful life. You've also inspired *me* to finally read Harry Potter, which has been on my "to do" list forever. By the way, I read "The Book Thief" in late spring, totally at your recommendation, and was so glad I did.
I love this so much and thank you for sharing!✨ Books have such a wonderful impact and no thing achieves the same📚 Your earrings are so whimsical and beautiful!
Alain de botton’s books are my favourite in the matter of understanding ourselves more and have self compassion toward the imperfect human beings that we are and be good enough instead of perfect because there is no such thing …. Love u from morocco❤️
5 books that have changed my life are: • 20 thousand leagues under the sea by Jules Verne. The reason because this was my first *big* book that I ever read and it opened my entire world to the science fiction genre. • The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. I mean is there anything else that I haven't said about my favourite book of all time? I read it in 2018 and it is still the most beautiful book I have ever read and I don't think I can ever get through this book without crying. And it was my Nana's book before mine, I sadly lost her this year so that just makes this book even more special. • Kane and Able by Jeffrey Archer. This book is probably tied with The Book Thief with being my favourite book ever written (honestly it's interchange). But I've read this book 5 times and every time I read it I get something new out of it. It is hands down in my opinion the perfect book and introduced me to the adult genre. • The Twilight Saga by Stephanie Meyer. Yes there are definitely issues with this series. But I cannot ignore the impact these books had on me and my reading. They also helped form some really close friendships which I will be forever grateful for. And these books are always the perfect escape for me if life is ever feeling too overwhelming. • Pride and Prejudice. Yes I have said that Wuthering Heights is my favourite classic of all time, but my god Pride and Prejudice held that mantle for 6 years before that point and it truly deserves it. A book that inspired me to be strong willed, fierce and not conform to societies expectations. I will forever be grateful to Pride and Prejudice for that. Anyway, if you made it to the end of this long comment, congratulations 😂. I hope you have a wonderful day ❤️
Hi Morgan! This video (like all of yours!) is such a comfort and I've come back to rewatch it quite a few times. ♥️ I decided this time that I would share a book that has impacted my life so much and one that I just feel inside you would enjoy too! It is "The Hobbit" - well-known of course, but such a comfort tale. I believe Bilbo will totally be a friend to you! He teaches so many lessons about life's simple comforts.
Thank you so much for sharing, Mo!!! I have to get my hands on Woman Code. Also, you look absolutely gorgeous and especially whimsical in this video with those earrings. :,))
Ah dearest Morgan, these videos are the most wonderful Saturday morning treat! There always seem to be such serendipities in them - I adore that Howard Thurman quote, & just a couple of weeks ago used it to theme a yoga class I was teaching ❤ The Crossroads of Should & Must is next on my list!
Wow! I love this list and have read 3 out of the 5 books you’ve mentioned but the one book suggestion that made me tear up is Harry Potter. It so nice to know someone who’s reading journey started off in a similar way as mine and to know that Harry Potter influence and helped you make me feel less silly to admit that that series brings me so much comfort and inspiration as well. I hope this is not too dramatic to say that I truly needed this video today. I’ve been feeling really down, lost, and insecure lately and your videos always uplifts me. So thank you Morgan you are in my heart a much needed and appreciated friend on the other side of the U.S. for me💕
Thank you for sharing your your life-changing books with us :) I don't think I could name five books that changed my life. For me it is more like every book I read teaches me something about my life: whether it is to take better care of myself, to value my time with loved ones more or to just eat more cake, something always sticks with me. Sometimes books show me how my life could be or show me a character that really inspires me. Sometimes I think about the challenges the characters face or the characters and their personalities for days, even if I already finished the book. And sometimes one book and the characters just become a safe haven for me. So looking at my bookshelf for me is like looking at beloved characters and stories that shaped me, made me think about certain topics and changed my perspective and are always there for me if I need a safe space. And thank you really much for your kind and beautiful words at the end after 16:22. I really needed to hear this :) Although I'm still in college and studying I am not sure if this is the right way for my life. To hear your kind and warm words helps me to remind myself that it is okay to not have everything figured out yet. A big hug and and a big cup of tea to you! Cheers!
Hey old me who wrote the comment! :) After a year that really sucked and had many ups and downs, you found your place and way in life! You had to navigate through some hard days and weeks but you got there and it was all worth it. Maybe someone else who is struggling to find their path in life will read this and I just want to say to you: everything you do right now will lead you one step closer. It will sometimes be difficult and you will feel like giving up multiple times but you will get there!
You drop the video when I am in desperately in need of, thank you Morgan for making my day a bit less stressful. Watching you talk about these book was soo good. I'll try ny best to get my life together.... Thank you again...💜💜💜
Oh that flower art😍. I absolutely adore mine, it makes me feel as if I received a gift from a dear friend. I showed it my partner, saying Look what I received from Morgan!❤️ Also yay for the recommendations! I've been wondering about which books were helpful throughout your journey. Such a beautiful idea and I can't wait to discover what they are and maybe pick up some of those for myself. I hope you know how much we appreciate and value you Morgan. Sending lots of love, always.
Omfgggg yessss new video literally couldn't wait I was like on RUclips and refreshing to see for new video and this one omggg books so happy ☺️☺️❤️ Also dear Morgan if you can please show us to a video some vegetarian recipes cause I really want to eat like a vegetarian but don't know and if I made something it doesn't taste that good. Good morning btw ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Thank you so much for being so very excited about my videos, friend!!! I've done a couple of recipe videos and will eventually do another! Good morning, ❤️❤️❤️❤️
The Crossroads of Should and Must has been on my TBR for ages, but I haven't made that purchase yet. Another book that I'd like to recommend is The Subtle Art of Not Giving a F*** by Mark Manson. From it I learned/realized how to prioritize my thoughts and worries, and to really decide if things are worth my time and effort. If they aren't, I'm learning to let the insignificant things go. I also recently read Braiding Sweetgrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer and adored it. In it, there are connections between Indigenous wisdom, scientific knowledge, and the teaching of plants. If you haven't read it, I HIGHLY encourage you to do so. I found it to be very insightful.
Catching up on your videos from the last month and oh man the message you relayed at the end of this video about it being ok to not have your life figured out... i needed that reminder today. Thank you. Your videos are always a form of therapy for me and always give me the reminders i need. Thank you for that and for this amazing list of books. I am going to read them all. (Have read Harry Potter already and i so relate to how you feel about Harry Potter!) P.s. You look so lovely in this video, the blue top with the gold jewelry! Beautiful!
I just wanted to say thank you so much for sharing your wonderful videos. I don’t recall how I found them/you but I’m so happy that I did. Thank you for sharing your book recommendations. While I am not quite the avid reader that you are :) I am finding I’m enjoying the quiet time with a book more and more. I also wanted to thank you for recommending “You are a Badass”. You were absolutely right! It’s such a fun book and I’m so enjoying the way Jen writes - so approachable and saying it like it is! I think my highlighter is getting quite the workout. Again thank you Morgan for being such a sweet and positive light.
Dearest Morgan, you really do change so many lives out there simply by touching them. At least, that is how I feel. Somehow, you are the friend I never knew I needed. Thank you for being you, for making someones day a little brighter and their burdens feel a little lighter. Your videos are a constant source of happiness, encouragement and inspiration. Here I am, standing at the crossroads, working an exhausting job, feeling so stuck at where I am yet unable to leave. Just listening to your kind words made me tear up & know that all will be well in the end. Thank you, thank you, thank you. ♡ The world truly needs more wonderful people like you. ♡ Much love from Germany!
Thank you so so so much for your kind words, Ida ♡ You absolutely deserve to enjoy your life and so, I hope that you soon find the next path at your crossroads. To be constantly exhausted in a way that brings you no joy is no way to live. You will have better
There's this book called Among Others by Jo Walton that I knew I'd love as I first held it in a bookstore one year ago. It's not the story or the character that made me love it, it was just the feeling and delivered words of enchantment that made me love it. I really recommend it.
Thank you so much for sharing these books. I have three new books to add to my list! The first two are perfect for me as I'm in a bit of a rut in my life at the moment. I've never read any poetry as I'm drawn more to story books but you have drawn me in to Devotions by Maey Oliver ❤ Harry Potter is perfect at any age! 😊
I actually bought The Crossroads of Should & Must because I saw it in one of your vlogs. You didn't even talk about it, I just saw it on your table and thought it looked good, and I fell madly in love with it. So glad to see it on this list because it definitely helped me.
The five books that have changed my life: Little Women by Louisa May Alcott A Light in August by William Faulkner Toward a More Natural Science by Leon Kass Richard Wilbur’s Collected Poems 1943-2004 The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis Morgan, this video made me reflect on the books that have changed my life and really made me think about the impact literature has had on it! Thank you for always providing your community with videos that are not only beautiful to watch but good for the soul💕✨
Harry Potter is also on my list of books that changed my life. It was the first book that I read completely on my own when I was nine years old, in the middle of a difficult childhood. Harry Potter gave me hope, and continues to accompany me to this day ❤
One of my favourite videos you've ever made 😊 I am absolutely buying the crossroads of should and must. The serendipity that lead you to this book ❤️ The way you inserted the clips was perfection. I also adore the HP series but I'm so sad that this has been tarnished by jkr 😢 My books would be a new earth by eckhart tolle & the seat of the soul by Gary Zukav x
I add the "the crossroads of should and must: find and follow your passion" by Elle Luna, i love you hearing about the books, and how they moved you. The first book that moved me, was Brene brown book, the first one about shame, i remember reading it, and thinking to my self, "what? So we are not suppos to be feeling like this all the time? This is wrong?" and its was the first book that i read, that talk about emotion, and before that i always thought nonfiction book was about war or science or number, something "smart", i didnt know that it could be about emotion and the human experience, and finding love in yourself, and just stories about other people struggling in their life and just trying life. My idea of nonfiction book was limit, but after that, i got addicted to read about self-help book with people stories in it, and reading about how people turned their own struggles around, because it made me feel like i was not alone in all of this. Right now i am even reading brene brown book "i thought it was just me: women reclaiming power and courage in a culture of shame", and i still love every thing brene brown does. A book that changed my life, recently was a manga, "Navillera", its about a 70 year old man dreams about being a ballet dancer, there is also a tvshow about it on netflix, and it made me think about the important of chasing you dreams, but also the people around you, its just very beautiful, and it really touch my heart, and thank you for making this video, i am not aware of the 5 book that changed my life, but i think i want to make a list with it, top 10 or something, just to reflect, and i also think it can tell you a lot about the books that you fell in love with and what you need more of in your life, so thank you for making this.
I'm so happy you discovered Brené's books and the self-acceptance that came with them. I haven't read any of her books but I really want to! I also really love the sound of "Navillera" and have added it to my list! Thank you, friend
Does anyone know books with a rainy, stormy and calm atmosphere, set in the modern world with a protagonist around 17-25 years old? Preferably without too much fantasy. :)
I think I've reccomend it to you before but The Choice by Edith Eger has really impacted me the most 📖I love this video; the way you talk about books is so infections especially as I've always been a reader too 😅 I'd recommend Wicked by Gregory Maguire 📖😏 Sending love XXX
If I were to make a list of RUclips channels that have changed my life, yours would be high on the list! You have inspired me, and I’m sure so many others, in countless ways! Keep being you, Morgan! 💛
Devotions and Mary Olivers poetry has also changed my life in the most wonderful of ways :) I love the same things you love in her poetry, her words are truly a gift :)
Omg!! I'm so inspired by this video. I think all your book suggestions are exactly what I need, I got a little skeptical at the one titled “devotions” but I will give all of them a try. I love Harry Potter, but sadly I haven't read the books.
Amiga!! Como tú puedes leer en español, te recomiendo muchísimo "Persona Normal" te vas a a enamorar de la hermosa historia que cuenta el autor Benito Taibo! Te prometo que te gustara. Abrazos!
Thank you so much Morgan for sharing these recommendations. I have read many books recommended by you and I think we have quite similar taste. I have read dog songs and a thousand mornings and am slowly savoring my way through devotions on weekend mornings - all thanks to you. I think you might enjoy William Stafford - his “ask me” collection of poems is one I come back to over and over again and it brings me comfort in the way you speak of Mary Oliver. ❤️ Also “am I there yet” by Mari Andrew. She makes me feel like it’s okay - and maybe even wonderful - to feel lost and confused about where we’re going in life.
that color shirt, the earrings, the lighting, the way your hair is done, i don't know, but you look particularly beautiful!! like a goddess. i think that might be your color.
Honestly I teared up when you talked about Harry Potter. It’s the same way when I was 11, those books got me into reading. So much can be learned in fiction. ❤️
Wow, this video was amazing... I want to read them all haha! Thank you for the opportunity to discover myself through books, I love your videos and your personality.
wow crazy, I was just at Goodwill (thrift store) and bought the Crossroads of Should and Must. I almost left it but then thought I couldn't since it was such a creative and pretty book. I also have the You are a Bad Ass but haven't read it yet. Also got at Goodwill :)
I love the wide range of genres in this list! 📚💕 I truly want to read every single one after hearing you describe how they have impacted your life! I think I need to read woman code immediately!Your videos always make me feel Alive 💖 and fill me with a sense of wonder and well being. ✨ And now I feel very motivated to read, read, read! 🤗
What a beautiful intro 🥰 my momma is a 35 year pianist so made me smile ❤️ I also dont know if I should or must have kids but Im going to grab that book to continue working through that decision at 32 years old😅
This video has inspired me to read more books that can impact my life! I usually just read fantasy and contemporary and they have never really been life changing!
Reading fiction growing up made me who I am today and Harry Potter was definitely one of those books for me too! I “grew up” with Harry, I was 12 I believe when the first one came out. The other book was Little House on the Prairie. My dad used to read those to me when I was little, until I got old enough to read them myself. Another one from my childhood: Little Women. I think I reread that one at least once a year:)
Look at dressy you 😍 love those shell earrings! I read HP & the SS when I was 17. It was my first successful attempt at reading novels. I never read before that barring the childhood stories like Snow White, Three Little Pigs ...so I know what you mean.
Morgan, this video was absolutely wonderful:) Just hearing your perspectives on these books really connects with me. I love all of your book recommendations!
I have a few that have impacted me in some way! Harry Potter, for really making me fall in love with reading at the age of 9 and giving me an outlet to explore my imagination. 1984, since it was the first classic and required reading that I actually enjoyed. Since then, I have been much more excited to pick up and read classics. Eat Pray Love, for reminding me that it’s okay to be selfish sometimes and take time off to rediscover myself.
Widow Basquiat by Jennifer Clement and Practical Magic by Alice Hoffman. Those books change my life, the way I think about myself as a woman and the empathy I had for fellow woman. They are incredible!
Aw this was such a cozy, happy little chat 😌 I could just feel the joy radiating off you as you shared each one ✨ I have a little stack of books that have changed my life, too, and also would find it hard to choose just one! I think “The Gifts of Imperfection” by Brené Brown was the most transformative read for me, and lead me to “Self-Compassion” by Kristin Neff, which perhaps changed my life most of all 🥰 I’m definitely going to be adding some of your shared books to my list! Thank you for sharing this beautiful and heartfelt video ☺️
Ahhh, I so need to read Brené Brown's works! Everything I know about her makes me feel like I would really resonate with her story and lessons. I've made a note of the books you recommended. Happy reading, friend! ☀️
The lighted heart by Elizabeth Yates! Little house in the big woods and little house on the Prarie by Laura Ingalls wilder. Are books that impacted my life.
I love this video and you sweet friend. When you said Harry Potter I was thinking the same thing. It warmed my heart and wet my eyes :) My top 5 change my life books: 1. Harry Potter changed my life because I too was an unwanted child. I was abused by the father figure in my house very much as Harry was. I was made to feel less. HP taught me how friendships are your chosen family. I was in my twenties when I first started the books. They made me a better human and a better teacher. The teachable moment with the bogart and Professor Lupin is the essence of what teaching is all about. The connections made and the joy brought into the classroom. ❤️ 2. The Shack. I lost my brother in 2005 and read The Shack in his bedroom on Christmas Day. I read it cover to cover. It changed my view and relationship with God. It gave me hope and peace. 3. Watership Down by: Richard Adams. I first read it when I was In HS and it effected me deeply. How humanity has to work together to survive, how every person is important, the importance of conservation and ecological awareness. Empathy for all of God’s creatures. I’ve since read it more times than I can count. 4. The Time Travelers Wife for me though a very hard and emotionally painful relationship. 5. The Savannah Reid mysteries by: GA Mckevette. Her books made me realize that being plus size does not limit me. She also introduce me to the world of cozy mysteries and for that I will forever be thankful. I didn’t mean to write a novel and I apologize for that. I was very touched by your video and inspired to share. Thank you.. wonderus you! ❤️
@@MorganLong thank you ❤️ I have been very blessed in my life and I’m so thankful that I’m bookish. As Frank Navasky says, “you are what you read”. (YGM)
I’ve reread You Are A badass a few times as well and it was the first book I read for 2021 (as a reread). It was the perfect way to kick off the year. I love that you love Mary Oliver. She’s a real gem. She rarely gave interviews but she did a really great one with Krista Tippett and you can hear it on the podcast called On Being (you can google mary Oliver on being podcast and I bet it comes up). Highly recommend 💜
This was a great video Morgan. I have a great love for literature and reading as well. Love Mary Oliver. She is my favorite poet. I first came across her work many years ago at the Cannon Beach Bookstore. I saw her latest book at the time Blue Horses and as is the case a lot of the time I was drawn to the cover art. I picked up the book and thought I will turn to a page and read one poem. If I like it or it moves me in some way I will buy the book. Well I turned to a poem dealing with nature that pulled me in immediately and moved me profoundly. I thought ok I must buy this book. I have since read many of her books and also have Devotions which is a wonderful book of her collected works. The book I am enjoying right now is Braiding SweetGrass by Robin Wall Kimmerer. It deals with Indigenous Wisdom, Scientific Knowledge, and the Teachings Of Plants. Wonderful book!
Hello Morgan, thank you for sharing those books and how they have changed your life. I will check out a couple of those. I have wanted to read books by Mary Oliver including her "Devotions". I did read "Hidden Life of Trees" (at your request). I just picked up "How Not to Die". My fave life changing book is the Bible, followed by the Classics, art, gardening, and self-help books. It's hard to narrow any particular ones.
I too, impressed by Kathleen Kelly; watched the movie 100's of time. In every book. Grew up in a grocery store. Loved books about entrepreneurs; was one. Wanted a book store or yarn store; had an antique store. In my waning years, (I am 81), its poetry and nature.,
Dear Miss Morgan, I am so sorry I haven't been able to reply to your messages, but I have been loving your videos. It actually inspired me to paint my wardrobe , and I am loving it , although I'm not quite finished yet. Can't wait to watch this video with a hot cup of coffee.🥰🥰 PS Have you ever tried berry tea? Lots of love , Tanisha
Hi dear Morgan first your earnings are so beautiful fitting you perfectly second about the books that change my life is a little life by hanya yanagihara, the great alone , especially a little life is a life changing iam not feeling the same since I had read it , devotions by Mary Oliver is in my kindel tbr I can't wait to read , and you are badass I read it 4 years ago it was really good one
IT IS MORE THEN OKAY TO INCLUDE HARRY POTTER ON THE LIST, in fact it is absolutely necessary, because I think that book, that world, has changed the life of almost everyone who has read it!
1. The Simple Living Guide - Janet Luhrs - helped me see slow living and simplicity as my lifestyle choice
2. The Right to Write - Julia Cameron - got me doing "morning pages" which I've now been doing for 20 years!
3. A Big New Free Happy unusual Life - Nina Wise - about enjoying life through play (love!)
4. L.M. Montgomery books as a whole - the glories of nature and beauty opened up in words before me...
Ohhhh your earrings are so beautiful :3
Thank you so much!!

Exactly! Thank you for being here, friend
Ooo I love the concept of this video! Books really do have the power to change our minds and perspectives ☀️🧡
There is something so beautiful about words and the way that you put them together to form a story.
The most impactful novel I read this year was The Midnight Library!
Ahh, I really want to read Midnight Library! I think I may choose it for my Patreon book club next month!
@@MorganLong I didn't even get to finish it before I had to return it to the library (it was on hold so I couldn't renew it) and even so I can still recommend it. It was amazing!

In this hectic world it seems that people are not able to see anything which they are surrounded by.
😭
Why didn’t I think about it before?” Thank you so much🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻
I am really sorry for your situation.
I am so happy, that harry potter is one of your fave books. They mean so much, to so many people. Including myself 😊
when morgan posts, I automatically smile, oh how i love ur videos morgan 💗
Literally happiness of the day just loveeeee like how bad is my day or etc there when Morgan comes/upload a video I am just the most happiest person :)
Seriously, she make the day better
Thank you so so very much, Katrina 💗
Thank you so so much, Xhesiana friend!
Thank you, Gagan ☀️
Loved this video; it was so encouraging. Growing up with a tragic childhood, I often turned to books for escape, comfort, and encouragement. At yet another hard-ish time in life, during a temporary circumstance, books have once again helped keep me centered. Loved hearing how these books helped you. :)
I didn’t start reading Harry Potter until I was on my 40’s. I’m still working on them :-)
Thanks for sharing your list!
Oh, and on a more superficial note - those earrings are so cute on you!
5 books that have changed my life are:
• 20 thousand leagues under the sea by Jules Verne.
I hope you have a wonderful day ❤️
Thank you for the recommendations, friend! I've read all of them except for 20 thousand leagues under the sea-- so I've added it to my list!
@@MorganLong ooh do tell me what you think of it ❤️
I love Pride and prejudice too❤️
I feel like that Roald Dahl quote about kindness and sun beams was written just for you 🥺💛
I read Brene Brown's books in a really pivotal point in my life, Daring Greatly helped me so much, definitely recommend!
Hello from France ! Thank you for this video I love it. It's so true. Books are so important in our lives. 🌺
Hello, friend! I most certainly agree 🌼
I actually love you & miss you so much, you GLOW so much talking about your favorite things
So thank you Morgan you are in my heart a much needed and appreciated friend on the other side of the U.S. for me💕
Thank you for sharing your your life-changing books with us :)
I don't think I could name five books that changed my life.
After a year that really sucked and had many ups and downs, you found your place and way in life!
Thank you so much for watching and appreciating my videos, Gagan! Your life is together, friend!💜
Oh that flower art😍. I absolutely adore mine, it makes me feel as if I received a gift from a dear friend. I showed it my partner, saying Look what I received from Morgan!❤️
Also yay for the recommendations! I've been wondering about which books were helpful throughout your journey. Such a beautiful idea and I can't wait to discover what they are and maybe pick up some of those for myself. I hope you know how much we appreciate and value you Morgan. Sending lots of love, always.
Thank you so so so much, Monica friend! I'm really glad you're enjoying my flower art 🌿
Thank you for appreciating my videos and me
Omfgggg yessss new video literally couldn't wait I was like on RUclips and refreshing to see for new video and this one omggg books so happy ☺️☺️❤️ Also dear Morgan if you can please show us to a video some vegetarian recipes cause I really want to eat like a vegetarian but don't know and if I made something it doesn't taste that good. Good morning btw ❤️❤️❤️❤️
Yay to recipe/cook with me videos!🍜
(Have read Harry Potter already and i so relate to how you feel about Harry Potter!)
Enjoy the inspirational weekend, Morgan!❤️
Happy weekend, Ervin!
You too, Morgan!
Mr after Morgan's video adding some books to my list so I can buy them because literally they look incredible !
Happy reading, friend!!
Thank you so much for the recommendation-- I've made a note of it!!
I agree! It’s one of my favorites!
Thank you so much for sharing these books. I have three new books to add to my list! The first two are perfect for me as I'm in a bit of a rut in my life at the moment. I've never read any poetry as I'm drawn more to story books but you have drawn me in to Devotions by Maey Oliver ❤
Harry Potter is perfect at any age! 😊
I'm so excited for you to try these books! I hope that you soon find yourself out of this rut and on the up & up ☀️
I actually bought The Crossroads of Should & Must because I saw it in one of your vlogs. You didn't even talk about it, I just saw it on your table and thought it looked good, and I fell madly in love with it. So glad to see it on this list because it definitely helped me.
What a beautiful video, Morgan 💜 I almost cried when you started talking about Harry Potter.
The five books that have changed my life:
Little Women by Louisa May Alcott
A Light in August by William Faulkner
Toward a More Natural Science by Leon Kass
Richard Wilbur’s Collected Poems 1943-2004
The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe by C. S. Lewis
Morgan, this video made me reflect on the books that have changed my life and really made me think about the impact literature has had on it! Thank you for always providing your community with videos that are not only beautiful to watch but good for the soul💕✨
Thank you so much for being here, friend
Love it😍😍 booster my mood to read books alwaysss!!
Thank you!!
Believe in yourself, and keep on doing what you find valuable. You are doing great!
Thank you for sharing those books and your calming voice.
Harry Potter is also on my list of books that changed my life. It was the first book that I read completely on my own when I was nine years old, in the middle of a difficult childhood. Harry Potter gave me hope, and continues to accompany me to this day ❤
1000% The Little Prince for me
One of my favourite videos you've ever made 😊 I am absolutely buying the crossroads of should and must. The serendipity that lead you to this book ❤️
The way you inserted the clips was perfection.
I also adore the HP series but I'm so sad that this has been tarnished by jkr 😢
My books would be a new earth by eckhart tolle & the seat of the soul by Gary Zukav x
If you like mysteries, try the Truly Devious books by Maureen Johnson!
I'd love to hear any of these recommendations!
I think I've reccomend it to you before but The Choice by Edith Eger has really impacted me the most 📖I love this video; the way you talk about books is so infections especially as I've always been a reader too 😅 I'd recommend Wicked by Gregory Maguire 📖😏 Sending love XXX
Thank you, Morgan for beautiful recs and advice. Your channal is a gift
Thank you so so much, Diana friend
Thanks Morgan, i am going to read them all! You are an angel, your massage to us are so important and significant in our lifes!! 💚🌈
If I were to make a list of RUclips channels that have changed my life, yours would be high on the list! You have inspired me, and I’m sure so many others, in countless ways! Keep being you, Morgan! 💛
Thank you so very much, friend 💛
Devotions and Mary Olivers poetry has also changed my life in the most wonderful of ways :) I love the same things you love in her poetry, her words are truly a gift :)
Omg!! I'm so inspired by this video. I think all your book suggestions are exactly what I need, I got a little skeptical at the one titled “devotions” but I will give all of them a try. I love Harry Potter, but sadly I haven't read the books.
Thank you so much, friend! Happy reading!
Amiga!! Como tú puedes leer en español, te recomiendo muchísimo "Persona Normal" te vas a a enamorar de la hermosa historia que cuenta el autor Benito Taibo! Te prometo que te gustara. Abrazos!
What a lovely and affecting video, Morgan. Thank you!
Also “am I there yet” by Mari Andrew. She makes me feel like it’s okay - and maybe even wonderful - to feel lost and confused about where we’re going in life.
My favorite book of all time is "Time Is A River" by Mary Alice Monroe! Highly recommend!
I absolutely love Mary Alice Monroe! I will be adding this to my 'to-read' list.
I've added it to the list!
Love that you mentioned Harry Potter 😊 I didn’t read the series till right after college but it totally shaped my first few years of adulthood!
Year of Yes by Shonda Rhimes completely changed my life!
I try to re-read every year.
I've added it to my list!
that color shirt, the earrings, the lighting, the way your hair is done, i don't know, but you look particularly beautiful!! like a goddess. i think that might be your color.
Thank you so, so much for this video! It went directly to my heart! Xoxo
Thank you for watching, friend!
I’m going to add like all of these books to my list, haha. You have such a great taste in literature, so many different genres!
Thank you, friend! And happy reading
I loved hearing your stories and reviews today.
And an other absolutely fantastic vlog !! 👍👍👍 xxx Your vlogs will honestly make a huge difference in people’s lives , especially young people . 👍
You are a beautiful person. Also, those earrings look incredible on you xo
wow crazy, I was just at Goodwill (thrift store) and bought the Crossroads of Should and Must.
What a beautiful intro 🥰 my momma is a 35 year pianist so made me smile ❤️ I also dont know if I should or must have kids but Im going to grab that book to continue working through that decision at 32 years old😅
Oh, I absolutely love the piano!! ❤️ I hope you enjoy the book, friend 🤗
This year I have loved A Dog's Purpose, Salt To The Sea and Trylle Trilogy! All amazing books and I'm loving that I'm reading more this year!
This video has inspired me to read more books that can impact my life! I usually just read fantasy and contemporary and they have never really been life changing!
Happy reading, friend!
what a beautiful reflection! devotions also completely changed my life. mary oliver and her writing is truly a GIFT
I absolutely agree!
WOMAN CODE!! YES!!! :) Thanks for all the book recs!
Ordered the first book based on your recommendation! Sounds good! Also might want to try Devotions. Great list!
Thank you, friend! Happy reading!
Just remember those books just sparked the flame that was always inside you. Keep up the good work kiddo.
Thank you ♥️
Aw this was such a cozy, happy little chat 😌 I could just feel the joy radiating off you as you shared each one ✨ I have a little stack of books that have changed my life, too, and also would find it hard to choose just one!
It warmed my heart and wet my eyes :)
My top 5 change my life books:
2. The Shack. I lost my brother in 2005 and read The Shack in his bedroom on Christmas Day. I read it cover to cover. It changed my view and relationship with God. It gave me hope and peace.
3. Watership Down by: Richard Adams. I first read it when I was
In HS and it effected me deeply.
I’m so glad you’ve found comfort in books and the strength to make peace with so many heartbreaks ♥️
@@MorganLong thank you ❤️
I have been very blessed in my life and I’m so thankful that I’m bookish.
I absolutely love that interview! She's so matter-of-fact! It's refreshing. 💜
Mysterious Benedict Society is on your bookshelf??? YES!!!!
There is absolutely no book more life-changing than the Bible! Best book ever!
Hello, Roksanna friend! It's so good to hear from you
@@MorganLong Awh, thank you. You as well. Hope all is well with you all. Lovely video! TY
on an unrelated note, I love your earrings in this video!
Thank you so much, friend!
I too, impressed by Kathleen Kelly; watched the movie 100's of time. In every book. Grew up in a grocery store. Loved books about entrepreneurs; was one. Wanted a book store or yarn store; had an antique store. In my waning years, (I am 81), its poetry and nature.,
Dear Miss Morgan,
I am so sorry I haven't been able to reply to your messages, but I have been loving your videos. It actually inspired me to paint my wardrobe , and I am loving it , although I'm not quite finished yet.
Can't wait to watch this video with a hot cup of coffee.🥰🥰
PS Have you ever tried berry tea?
Lots of love ,

Hello, Assia friend! Thank you for all of the recommendations! And thank you about the ear rings : ) Happy reading, friend!
I just finished "Pearl of China," by Anchee Min, and I really enjoyed it so much. It reminded me of my childhood best friend who passed away in 2018.
Love this video , you have to make more like this please
The book that started my love of books and reading when we read it together when I was about 10 was The Hobbit. 🙂📚
Lovely video! Two books that have changed my life are Love Medicine by Louise Erdrich and 12 steps to a compassionate life by Karen Armstrong. ♥️
Thank you for the recommendations, friend!! ♥️
