hello there I've gone through the video Iam from India and planning to come to Uk for my further studies I already have a Bachelors degree in education and Masters degree in Education so I am confused regarding the courses I should apply for.
Thank you so much for the video! Really informative. Could you please tell me that can we do the Assessment Only Route QTS if we already have a Masters Degree in Education?
For a teacher living outside UK & having neither a work permit nor a national insurance number, does that mean she is not entitled to apply for a teaching post in UK?. As to the QTS, can it be obtained online? Does it have an expiry date? Where may I get materials to study it? Can I submit a proof of enrolment and work till I receive the certificate? Is there any exceptions for teachers from QTS or any other alternatives? What’s the shortest time to get QTS?Can you teach while earning it?

Since Med cources doesn't have teaching placement, how can I apply for QTS. And this course not lead to become a teacher . Furthermore, does post graduate certificate cources support to Tier 4 or PR. Please reply me.
Hi there Florence! No problem not having a British accent 🙂 Best thing to do would be to look on the UCAS website at the different routes available to see what would work best for you 🙂
Hi there, Thank you for the video, I would like to ask your opinion about my situation, I'm a qualified teacher in Philippines, I live now in UK, I've got my 4 year degree course in primary and I would like to study again here to have a good start and learn new methods of teaching as I know that here is more advance. Do you think I'm doing right taking the undergraduate early years,? I'd like to teach young children up to 10 years old, thank you. 😊
@LittleLearners very informative video. Thanks for sharing. I have 3 questions (1) I am from India, I do have online tutoring experience only, not school teaching experience. Is that fine or I should have school teaching exp as well (2) Is there any age limit to get teaching job in UK, as I am 44 years old now (3) I heard that PGCE is not really needed just QTS is enough. How to apply for iQTS ?
Here is what I think is the best and cheapest way to become an accredited English Teacher. LTTC (London Teachers Training College) offers several certifications and diplomas in TEFL, but only a couple are accredited by Ofqual. Is it worth studying something at LTTC? I would say yes, since their Certificate in TEFL Level 5 is accredited by Ofqual and is incredibly low priced, it is a bargain! Cambride's Celta and Trinity's CertTesol are qualifications that are also at level 5 of the Ofqual scale (QCF), which makes said LTTC certification at the same level for the British Government and therefore internationally in as for academic level matters. According to British academic accreditation criteria, a Level 5 Certification is equivalent to 2/3 of a Bachelor's degree. However, apart from the accreditation of the British Government, there is another issue aside that is not of minor importance. We are talking about the prestige of each accreditation, CELTA from Cambridge and CertTesol from Trinity are certifications that enjoy great prestige in the world and it is likely that a language teaching center, a primary or secondary school anywhere in the world, prefer to hire someone with a Trinity or Cambridge certificate, rather than someone with an LTTC certificate. But between someone who has a certification from the LTTC, that is accredited at Level 5 by the British Government academic scale and therefore equals 2/3 of a university degree and someone who has a certification in TEFL from one of these online schools, that are not accredited by Ofqual or by any accrediting entity backed by any government, naturally whoever holds the LTTC certification will win. But if it comes to having a prestigious certification, there is another way. You can take the LTTC accredited level 5 certification and then get a job for six months, it can be online on sites like italki or similars, once you have reached six months of teaching experience, you can go for the Level 6 CertPT by Trinity that is accredited by Ofqual, which is much cheaper than CertTesol or CELTA and has a higher academic level, having level 6 on the Ofqual scale, it has the same level as a completed bachelor's degree. That is, starting from scratch, in a month you can finish the LTTC level 5 certification, then you work for 6 months to acquire teaching experience, then you take the Trinity CertPT level 6 ... let's say that is possible for someone in less than a year, having an equivalent academic level in TEFL to someone with a bachelor's degree, which takes 3 years to complete and is infinitely more expensive. And with two more years of teaching experience, you can go for a DELTA (Cambridge) or DipTESOL (Trinity)... or even a Master in TESOL, all these certifications are at Level 7 in Ofqual scale, that is Master Degree level. *Trinity's CertPT requires that you have at least a Level 5 Accredited Certificate in TEFL/TESOL (LTTC is just fine) and not less than 6 months of proven teaching experience.
Im on my last year of education studies degree course and hope to get 2:1. I want to become a primary school teacher but after i get my BA degree i do not want to study at uni. I dont want to do any assignments anymore and would like to become a teacher through working in a school where no assignment are required. So far i have no experience working at a school. Please let me know which route u think is best for me to go for inorder tobecome a teacher?
Hi - thanks for your question. There are work-based routes into teaching but as far as I am aware all require some form of assignment or assessment - to get QTS (qualified teacher status) you have to go through assessment. Best to take a look at all the options on the UCAS website to see what you think is best for you 🙂
