C'est tout un hasard que j'aille trouvé votre chaîne, pis j'suis pas décu! J'vais m'acheter le jeu de base, principalement pour apprendre à peinturer des minis. Je m'abonne! Merci beaucoup Nick et Mari!
Yes I have! It is a quick way to bring an even shade to some models, specially ones that have skin. It is just a bit trickier because you really need to thin your paints otherwise you end up covering it and have more trouble with not a lot of results. It is a bit more intermediate than the basic full color prime.
I am thinking of buying the tomb of giants expansion cause I found a pretty good offer for it and I am wondering if army painter paints are suitable for the job.I am not keen on buying citadel paints cause I don't want to spend too much but I am wondering if army painter primer paint will be up to the task
Oh definitely! Here is a handy conversion chart from paints from different brands if you want to follow our tutorials: redgrimm.github.io/paint-conversion/ There are plenty of those charts in the internet if you don't find a specific color on this one. In the end most of miniature paints are acrylic so don't be shy to test different brands that best suits you.
dont apply a primer coat like that, you will get drips and excess paint. you want to do long sweeping motions with a gentle press of the can, about 15-20cm away from the model so the paint goes on like a fine mist. dont do this too far away or the paint will dry mid-air and it will texture the models.
Hi Jack! You are absolutely right about the distance recommendations - if it is too close, you get drips and if you are too far it can dry and you have popcorn texture. The distance on the video was the optimal that I used in the conditions I had :) You might need to slightly adapt based on where you are so I recommend testing in just a few before doing on others.
@@TabletopDuo you’ll get a lot better results if you don’t hold down the spray can nozzle for long periods though like in the video, You want to sway the can from left to right with a short press in between each sway, building up a gradual dusting of primer - that way you dont lose any detail and if you do it at the right distance then it means very little drying time. Its also useful to do a zenithal highlight, so start with a black prime all over, then just from vertically above the model use white primer to just give a light dusting, that way after its painted with decently thinned coats you get a more exaggerated lighting/shadow effect, and it gives you a full overview of where to put the most vibrant highlights in the painting process afterwards.
Hi, could you tell me what you do when you mess up big time? Any way to get rid of the colour to start over? I don’t even own the board game yet but I am interested in buying it. I am a little frightened because the game is 90€, I am bad at painting/drawing and I don’t wanna mess it up. Would appreciate it if you could give me some insight on this topic :) PS: Do the Miniatures look good too without paint? I am still undecided because I pay 90€ for a board game which has figs that wait to be painted lol
In the inverse order: The minis do look good without painting, but from experience, sometimes even the amateur paintings looks better than raw, so don’t be afraid to test it out. The only way of getting good at something is practicing. And about messing up and starting all over, I know there are ways, but I haven’t tried myself. But you just gave me a good idea for a video in the future ;) The citadel paints are acrylic, so that means that they are water soluble. Now if you add varnishes it is harder to remove but not impossible to my knowledge. So keep that in mind if you are not totally satisfied with a result. I’ll try someday with an old mini and see how it goes!
I'm glad I found this channel, these are great tips and the paint jobs look amazing!

Bienvenue Guillaume! J’espère que tu aime bien les tutoriels!
Thank you! Have you tried zenithal priming? If so what do you think?

What paints fo you use? Do you have a place with links to them?
I started with Citadel Base Paint Set, but Vallejo and Army Painter are also popular choices - amzn.to/3w9BpfF
Is there any other primer that you recommend as base color? That specific model it's pretty expensive in my country.
What primer are you using?
Nvm lol
