- Princess Otomo has made a complete Super Mario Bros. 3 All-Stars level theme mod for Super Mario Maker that replaces every sprite from Mario Maker's Super Mario Bros. 3 them with sprites from the Super Nintendo All-Stars version. This mod also replaces music.

The levels shown in the video were made by me and are not available to play online since I just made the levels as demos to show off the mod and every custom sprite replaced.

I liked everything but the airship level! Why didn't you go for the thunderous dark background of the SNES version?

I would LOVE it if they added a theme based on the Super Mario All-Stars version of Mario 3 in SMM2, especially since I grew up with that version and only experienced the original NES version many years later. Adding the SMAS version of Mario 1 would be nice as well, along with the one for Mario 2 (even though Mario 2 in any form will probably not be added in SMM2).

Nice to finally see love for SMB3 SNES, most of the Mario Maker All Stars videos have been about SMB1 SNES.
Personally, I think the Ghost House background is too bright for the atmosphere that it's meant to convey. (I don't think it's supposed to be so well-lit inside.) Perhaps if it was around as dim as the original Ghost House backgrounds...
Ghost House background reminds me of the first level of Castlevania.
@@benhuang2773 Perhaps, though it still doesn't change the fact that these Super Mario All-Stars-styled Super Mario Bros. 3 Ghost House themes are lacking in light-dark contrast to the point that more visually-challenged players might have trouble being able to tell background from foreground, which, as I grew older, learned about game development, and as my eyesight isn't as good as it used to be, I've come to appreciate with the other default Super Mario Maker Ghost House themes.
i love how the bass on the underground theme is so fucking high that the game audio starts clipping. quality stuff

I love the fact that you corrected the hands, buttons, and eyes. This is truly the best Mario maker mod in my opinion.
He actually didn't create those corrections whatsoever. He took the Mario sprite edits used in a fangame called Super Mario: All-Star Attack, without crediting us for it.

You will have to download the game from the forum topic in order to see the sprites, which are in the game's external files.

The 8 bit sfx are very bothering
That Mario sprite's color palette looks heavily familiar.
Are those Mario sprites from Super Mario: All-Star Attack, or is it just mere coincid--- wait nevermind.
They are, along with the Spinies, the Munchers, and the Bloopers n' Cheep-Cheeps (unless again, coincidence). The least Princess Otomo could have done was credit the All-Star Attack team for our sprite edits.
The eye whites make Mario's sprite look much better.
why is the big mario sprite remade (well its still looks good but why was it remade)
I always thought the bowser castle theme from all stars looks kinda scary because you just see a few pillars in the background and darkness behind it .
10:03 What are the 8bit Boss and Coin Heaven Themes still doing in this mod? The 16bit SMB Remixes were in the other mod after all.

Those sprites are edits. He basically took the Mario sprites from a fangame called Super Mario: All-Star Attack, without crediting us for it (or so it seems).

Why on earth are the Bonus Room and Boss Themes still the NES variation? They were able to change it in the SMBAS Mod. Why not here?

Sorry but this is *very very far* from "Complete".
- Sound effects fucked up and way too loud.
- MANY MANY extra floating pixels and missing pixels in graphics.
- Mario's eyes aren't supposed to be white.
- Underground is supposed to be red in 16-Bit, you used the Ice cave style.
- Underground music is choppy, too loud, and fucked up.
- Ghost House background way too bright.
- Underwater ground blocks aren't supposed to have constant striped cutoff.
- Airship theme has very incoorect sky color and brightness.
- Castle ground blocks have very inccorect color and brightness.
I hope they add this theme to Mario maker 2, it’s honestly my favorite game, and I prefer that style.

Ya know the idea to swap the SMB & SMB3 into their All-Stars counter part seems very possible. But I wonder if you can try modding Super Mario Land 2 over Super Mario World.

I would love this so much. If they would do this, I would play the SMB3 style a lot. It's so nice and colourful and the music is really nice. Plus I grew up with Super Mario All Stars. SMB3 just feels better suited to the SNES to me because the game is so good that it deserves better than what the NES could do.

That's because those Mario sprites are not from SMAS-SMB3, they're from Super Mario: All-Star Attack, a fangame project I'm involved in.

Also, Mario's sprites are all over the place and this is riddled with errors. How hard is it to layer the sprites correctly over the originals?
