I’m a 71 year young grandmother who is scratching an itch or two and have recently started playing guitar again. Autumn Leaves is a song I’ve loved for a very long time and learning to play it to your amazing styling is absolutely wonderful. Thanks Paul for sharing your talents.

I once saw a lady go into my local music store, she must have been at least 80 years old, and she was signing up for drum lessons. I thought she must be the coolest little old lady in the world. Never to old to start a new hobby!
I know it’s late, but I hope you’re still practicing guitar. Don’t give up!

problem is: he is a terrible teacher. His goal always seems to be just to have you listen to him play and show off his talents, rather than actually teach you how to play the song(s). He is a fantastic player, but just a terrible teacher. Obviously his goal is clicks, not education. That is just youtube for you.

One thing I'd like to point out: this is not a 'sponsored video'. Nobody paid me to say anything. Singular Sound asked me to check out the Beat Buddy, and I said: 'sure!'. It's my own choice to use it in a video. I found this video to be a good occasion to try it out. If someone would pay me, I would mention it. Cheers!

One of my favourite songs. Never forgot it once I heard it on Somethin' Else. So evocative, it reaches right into your soul and fills your whole being, yet you still aren't quite sure. Quintessential jazz.
Great tune to show people who think they don't like jazz. Very harmonious, melodic, and emotional.

I work in a call center and have some time in between calls. I always wondered what I could accomplish between the calls if I was able to focus enough. Well working from home allowed me to learn my first jazz standard, enhanced my ability to work melodies between chord progressions, and reminded me of the importance of using different chord voicings. All from one video. Thanks Paul for the great content 🙏

Thank you very much for this! It is so great just to be able to have an entire stand-alone piece to play for people, as opposed to just aimlessly running through licks, fragments, and noodling. Most everyone loves a beautiful melody and this is one IMO. It's challenging, and has some chords I haven't tried before, so I am just spending some time each day working on it, until I get one section clean and smooth and then eventually moving to another. I think it's going to be well worth it.

And "being good" is a more pleasing goal than "being able to do hard things". I think that's it anyway. Thanks for this man! I'm really excited trying to learn this one. Just a side note, it's just sad seeing a number of dudes here who are being overly demanding. Given that this tutorial is free, they still managed to demand harshly (at least for my standards) and not just request politely (again, for my standards).
More power for you Paul! :)

The first time that my cat saw my guitar he opened the most big eyes I remember. He didn’t like the bass strings and each time I tried to play he went to sleep in another better place. I can’t be so bad, I thought... now he is more used to the sound, even electric.

Sir if you would have zoomed close up it would have been much appreciated as it is difficult to view your hand movements. Played very well also sounds amazing. Also chord chart should have been shown separately for people who don't know advanced chordings.
