wow thank you for the information. just a clarification, i observed you did not put a gasket on it? does the gasket need to be consider on checking the clearances?
No it does not. When doing the finally assembly though you do put liquid gasket down before sealing it up. There isn't a one piece gasket for the crankcase halves. Does that help?

Do you also plastigauge rod bearings?
Yes I do. Especially when replacing with new ones, which is the case with this rebuild.
