Starship Launch Tower Sections Outfitted for Installation

- Опубликовано: 5 июл 2024
- In preparation for rollout, SpaceX outfitted the new launch tower sections with propellant and gas lines. This will dramatically lessen the time needed to bring the tower up to full operational capacity after installation. Also, the Booster test tank, B14.1, was rolled back to the production site.

I use to show my buddy all the updates from these videos. He passed away on Christmas and watching these videos calms me down. Thank you
I used to watch every day a few years ago. Getting back into them now. Happy to see you still do these.
Thanks NSF team, the close up video is always appreciated.
Launch looks weird without the vertical tanks!
You’ll get used to it.
i love watching these. plus i got back my old youtube layout!
Look at that CC-8000-1 crane out there in the background… Lurking….Plotting!
😉
Great photo shots at Massey's Sean, Thank you so much NSF, and everyone who works so hard to bring us this awesome coverage every day!!!!
Hi there! Jesus Christ loves you. He is the only way to heaven. May God bless you!
Seems like just yesterday that they were preparing to stack the first orbital tower. Time flies!!!
I always liked these kind of videos since 2020
Same everywhere. Some workman know how to take it easy. Not overdo it
It's too bad they couldn't use or repurpose the GSE tanks for something else. Thanks NSF team for another great update and keeping us informed.
they will be used for something else. something made of stainless steel. POSSIBLY even something made by SpaceX
Black and white tower sections, hell yeah. That is awesome!
thank you this is amazing footage love it
The OVC pieces looking good.
It got even better
good that they are no longer a problem waiting to explode, but they were a landmark. i mean, obviously there's a much bigger landmark there, but.
Hopefully hurricane Beryl stays south of starbase ! Batten down the hatches if not !
Nice ❤
Wonderful! Thank ypou very so much! ❤️💥🔥🗽🚀🚀🚀👏👏👏🥰
Great work! Thanks!
Brilliant; Fast; Focused; Beautiful

When are you going to place a camera close to Tower 2?
yes
0:50 you can see 5 satellites moving down from top of the screen. Brightest one in the middle, but 2 either side of that. Starlink satellites presumably.
Is the building stainless steel? Like the I beams for this new mechazilla, are they stainless?
Given hurricane Beryl is tracking to directly hit Starbase, how do you think this will affect construction?
It’s not tracking to directly hit Starbase.
They might have to stop work for a few hours. After it passes some workers could be needed for clean up and maybe some repair. It all depends on how bad the hurricane is.
I wouldn't be surprised if they hold off moving B12 to the pad until after it passes. They had a closure the other day that was classed as a booster move but they didn't use it so that could be why. We'll see though!
@@dphuntsmanStarbase is well within the possible direct landfall of Beryl at the moment.
Are they ever going to get their own road?
No - too environmentally unfriendly.
This whole area is mainly water & protected wetlands; they’ve worked with the state to get the state to widen that state-owned road from two to 4 lanes….sometime….
@@dphuntsman SpaceX might even pay the state of Texas for it to be done. Cathy L said they asked for one more lane. The point is, SpaceX does not own the land or have the right to widen the road on their own.
In my dreams I see SpaceX erecting a modular component double-carriage electric robotic railway over Route 4 that could stay within the current road footprint, to both carry flight components between build, test and launch sites, and as two way commodities transport using self propelled modular trains from a port to the launch site tanks. If this isn’t just a developmental facility, such a railway would greatly facilitate a rapid launch cadence as well as reducing the environmental impact of so many trucks on that long, little road and the fuel they burn to get there.
I believe SpaceX is going to pay for widening the current public highway to four lanes. Not enough room for a separate private road.
Now,is it tower 2 or tower B?
B. We have orbital pad a and orbital pad b, which is really cool to say, especially with starship

Which Booster and which Starship is planned to be used for Spacex Flight 5 ???
Booster 12 and Ship 30
pls catch in july

I have a question. Both ships from IFT4 completed soft landings in the Indian Ocean and the Gulf of Mexico. Did SpaceX just leave them there to float around or did they enable the FTS and sink them?
i think hey just sank of their own accord. one of the reasons for the chopstick catch is they are too big for cranes....
@@HarryNicNicholas That would have taken some sort of action from SpaceX as these are large airtight Ships. They would have had to command the ship to open all the pressure relief valves to allow the water into the tanks. That may or may not work depending on the orientation of the ships in the water. A more sure action would be to activate the FTS while there are still remnants of fuel and oxidizer. I don't think that SpaceX or NASA wants that technology to fall into unfriendly hands.
@@rtbowen Activating the FTS is a last resort. Opening the valves is simple. If the unfriendly hands can be cleaver enough to dive for them then they likely are also cleaver enough to not need to.
👍👍👍
work continues at the olm 😭😭
Brace for Beryl !!!!

Is the 3rd starship, SN20?
The one on the rocket garden.
S20. (They stopped using "serial number" after SN15.)
The others are S26 and S32.
Where the hell did Booster 4 go from the rocket garden?
@@MattOdtujan Scrapped.
They should have known.
At 6:55 time mark, it LOOKS like drilling going on inside the Tower 2 base. WAT?
It's behind it, not inside it.

I miss Jack! .... where's Jack?
Taking a few days off? If he is I hope he has a nice time.
He was off in New Zealand covering Rocket Lab's last launch. He'll be back though!

Tower feet must have needed a pedicure.

They’re really dragging their feet on stacking these tower sections. What are they waiting for?
I think they’re moving really fast
i would guess poor forecasted weather
The tower is made up of sections of steel boxes. Those need to be welded together - a time consuming job. That is done on both the inside and outside, which is why they the need the protective tarps.
Once that is done they can fill the boxes with concrete (the 4 legs are already filled).
