I think I wrote it because I was sick of all these "know all" youtube commenters saying "Bon said he wanted Brian to replace him if he died." How dumb. Who even says that? His simple comment to them was that he told them he watched this guy who impressed him. None of them backed up this dumb story anyway.
Exactly wow just saw this but Remember, Bon Scott saying that he saw Brian perform a long time ago, and here is the performance that he was speaking about. Incredible!!! What the Internet has brought us today it’s like a time capsule.. I also have to wonder when Brian picked up the guitarist on his shoulders was that because he saw Bon Scott do that with Angus or did Bon Scott copy that from Brian Johnson with Angus in their live shows. This was 1974 in the piggy back became iconic with Bon Scott and Angus Young during their live shows.
Bon copied Brian. Brian was doing that in his early days before Vince started it. Brian talks about it in his book.
@@steveareeno90 makes sense just finished brians book lives of brian and researched old videos - he was doing the piggy back before w Geordie which bon and angus copied and then Brian came full circle doing it with angus when he joined the band.
I am so blessed to have lived long enough in this current time frame to be able to appreciate Bon and Brian as pure legends of Rock. I love them both and Geordie is so iconic bru

I really liked Geordie in the 70s. Their song "Mercenary Man" is still fantastic. When my hero Bon Scott died I could not imagine that anyone could replace him authentically. But Brian Johnson really could fill these big shoes. He was probably the only person on this planet who could perform that well with AC/DC.
Seen Brian and his band Geordie numerous times in the social clubs around Newcastle , he lived across the river from me . Just read his book and the parallels of our lives were spooky , normal working class upbringing in hard places to live and shape who you are . I love the fact that Brian never lost his Geordie accent unlike many who made it big and started speaking posh . What a man !
At 3:58, Brian starts singing “shake, baby shake”. He does the exact same line at the end of the song Money Made, off AC/DC’s 2008 Black Ice album. What an Easter egg!
I'd guess he was just channeling / referencing this classic Jerry Lee Lewis song.

It sounds crazy, but I'd often thought Little Richard would be fantastic with AC/DC. Straight up rock & roll. Here we have Brian doing some great Little Richard. Amazing.
Bon Scott as well as AC/DC are and were huge fans of Little Richard, Chuck berry and that early rock sound. You can hear it in there tone.⚡️

Just started listening to Geordie this last couple months...did not know anything about them, especially that Brian was there lead vocalist...I just love getting old 🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾
All the early 70's bands did apprenticeship in clubs and pubs and through playing Rock n Roll covers knew what record buying kids wanted... it carried on into Rock, Glam, Punk and beyond... a far cry from music recorded and produced in 2021 ❤️
That's a bit sweeping. There are plenty of bands that work hard on the circuit both nationally here in the UK and internationally.

I had no idea Geordie made it out to Australia! I see a hard working band with some big dreams punching out great riffs two whole oceans away from home. This must have been one heck of a surreal experience. To Brian or whoever is loading these up, I'm chuffed we get to see all of this.

Bon got the idea for angus on his shoulders from Brian and Geordie. I read that years ago, maybe in a hit parader magazine or guitar player. Either way Brian did it first but Bon got the credit due to being better known.🎶

@@Sportingalagrieska his voice had gone by 1996 it just sounded forced from there on in....he sounds better on latter albums because of studio help & technology but in the real world after the 1990/1991 razors edge tour his voice lost 75% of its power & range at the least....all metal & rock singer's scream they all do it but smoking makes a massive difference aswell particularly in latter years
@@fireball8767 maybe. Still a very commited singer, he could compensate his voice's loss of power with his attitude and charisma. I saw ACDC live twice, in the 90s and early 2000s, and was very pleased with the overall delivery of the shows, something that I can't say about other grand rock bands.

I often wonder what Brian said to Georgie when he went to join AC/DC. Maybe it's in a book? Does anyone have any insight? Brian being a decent guy, I'm sure he was decent about it all. Can't blame the guy at all, he went with what felt like his bliss, and that's all we can do. I'm sure he still cared about Geordie, just as he cared about upcoming bands in the north east once we was 'successful'.

I read in an interview that at that point Brian Johnson was about to give up music and follow a different carreer. Sounds funny, but ACDC was his last chance for becoming a pro musician.
At the time Brian was singing with the Geordie II band, with different members, and also working in his car windshield business
He left the band in 78 if I'm not wrong
It's in Brian's new book. He was in Geordie II then, part time, day job was car windshield(screen) business. He told them he got the offer and had to at least try it. He later compensated them for the booked gigs they had to cancel.
Rock and Roll is dying folks.......well most would say already dead with the new generations. My kids call this "boomer" music. Least I can say I went to some freaking AWESOME concerts back in the 70's, 80's and 90's. Had one HECK of a time listening to all the greats. These kids have no idea what they are missing and missed out on.
There are still some bands trying to rock alive. You won’t find it on the radio but it’s out there if you look for it
