I have to say, this definitely doesn’t hold a candle to WAW’s Battle Of Berlin. It felt like the fall of an Empire, everything was coming to an end and the German’s felt desperate, it felt like they were fighting tooth and nail for every last scrap of Berlin, the screaming, the shouting, the German voice actors really sounded panicked, broadcasted voices impel the Germans to fight on, the hellish sound of Katyusha rockets. The colours were saturated and bleak, and the city was in utter ruins and a smoky haze had descended on the city, from the dust and destruction, there were hanged Germans who were hanged by their own for being cowards. The music was brilliant too, as with the entirety of COD WAW and the Eastern Front missions. It remains for me one of the greatest levels in gaming and COD. In Vanguard, instead of feeling like a single soldier in a massive army, a feeling which was aided by the massive scale chaos, sure you were still badass but your badassery felt almost eclipsed by what was going on around you. In this, you’re a hodgepodge of action badasses spouting quips and one-liners. There’s no real comment on the atrocities and war crimes that plagued Berlin in this, you don’t see the hanged Germans or at least can’t clearly, you don’t see Soviets executing prisoners, it only shows civilians getting caught up, what if the Russian lady saw some of her comrades executing prisoners and civilians, perhaps worse. What if there was a part where you enter a hallway, and there are Russian soldiers running down one end, and you have to go the other, and if you look to the right of you along the hallway looking into a small room, you find a naked woman, dead in the corner, it’s not shown what happened to her but there’s sure as hell an implication. Showing the ghastly horrors of war in a WW2 game, pffffff! Also, it’s far too bright, it’s downright near clear skied and the moon is clearly seen, unobstructed by any smoke or haze. There are also other things they could’ve done that WAW, what if they showed the Volkssturm? WAW didn’t do that and they were everywhere in the Battle of Berlin, civilians in or without uniforms wielding cheap shit and Panzerfausts. That’d be so cool, showing civilians being thrown into the meat grinder, alongside the new blood soldiers and grizzled veterans.
Kind of would be cool if in WaW or any game that's the Battle of Berlin, the Germans had a mixed of weapons like Mosins, Springfields, MAS-36, etc along side thier own weapons to show the desperate nature the Germans are in, going to the extent of using captured arms, another idea is nods to WWI where old weapons like the Gewehr 98, and MG 08s being issued to Soldiers and Volksturrm alike.
Now I get it. Soviet army didnt took Berlin. 4 people took it alone with advanced weapons. They crashed German resistance in 23 minutes and Soviet army was just siting at Oder river with 3.000.000 men, 5000 tanks and waiting for this guys to clean Berlin. Then Stalin sent 8 soilders and man with camera to put flag on Reischtag.

Man , the COD developers are trying a way hard to make this game feel like marvel . Its a shame that triple A companies dont get why WAW was so memorable because it had a simpler plot and told a story of soldiers fighting tooth and nail to survive . The CIA was formed in 1947. Funny thing about covert operations, though, during the war the Federal government did ally itself with the Italian mafia to root out spies, sabatours, prevent work strikes, and gather intel.
Why they couldn't just return to regular soldiers is beyond me. They chose a fictional Special forces team instead of individual stories of squads like the original trilogy. The world traveling via flashbacks and the ending with the teases for what happens in the future was cool, tho. I just wish this simply wasn’t just a Warzone hype up. Patiently waiting for the day COD or Battlefield release a WW2 game even half as good as World at War. Although I don’t think it’ll ever happen. The game was way ahead of its time.
Mostly everyone else is praising this but allow to become THAT one guy. Firstly, Medal Of Honor Frontline had more NPCs on screen and that game came out on PS2 in 2002. Second, the weapons in """Berlin""" are oddly like that of CoD WW2 with the Japenese Type 100 being a German weapon in Europe which makes no sense (don't even get me started on the tanks). Thirdly, great message to send in the end. Lowering yourself to the same lows of the SS by burning a man alive, by submitting to blatant manipulation. You have given into the same level of evil as those you're fighting against. Also, what if Freisinger would have had information on a group of other high ranking SS who were going to conduct further attacks against the Allies after the war was over that wasn't written down in those terribly convenient German documents. Guess that's gonna come as a rude shock when the bodies starting stacking up. The worst part is that this could have been a semi competent plot line with some atleast decent attempts at trying to be remotely historical and logical but nope. Seems like most AAA WW2 games want some of the WW2 visuals but not actual WW2. Welp, consider me warned.
"I diddn't shoot him because he was crazy. I shot him because he was making sense." -Detective Miller And burning that dude was not the same level of evil as what he was up to and what the Nazis in general were for. If the dude wasn't guilty of any war crimes, had been trying to end the hostilities against civilians, and was just trying to get out of Berlin peacefully, and help by bringing information to the Allies; and then the commandos were like "nah we gonna burn you anyway for wearing that uniform" then they'd be giving into evil. But since we can presume he was responsible for some of the fighting continuing, if not more, and trying to continue the Nazi regime beyond the imminent end of the war, then he's an enemy, and in WWII especially that meant he might end up a casualty of the conflict. Other than that yeah this game looks like trash and historical make-believe masquerading as some kind of authentic experience which is frustrating if not infuriating. I'm all for making up little stories set in the chaos of war to make certain events relatable. But to make it seem like the entire fate of the war comes down to all this made-up stuff means the game is no better than Wolfenstein series, yet without any of the obvious tells that its all made up. At least Wolfenstein was clearly historical fantasy.
It would’ve been bad if they let him intel they didn’t have to stoop so low that they capture him just for some intel the sad thing is that if they did capture him he would’ve led a good life probably better than vanguard’s

In this game you can see thousands of bullets flying everywhere but the sound is too "quiet" for such a big and important battlefield, it doesn't convey emotions
This Campaign for this game was not bad at all for a fictional story, it was kinda like watching a Hollywood Action movie based on WW2, the concept of a team of soldiers from the UK, Australia, Soviet Union, and America, going covert to foil a secret sinister and evil Nazi plan, lots of blood n guts and explosions n shooting, lots of dialogue, everyone has a heroic yet always very intense backstory, then everyone at the end kills the bad guy and saves the day. If this was a Netflix movie or tv show I would watch it n give it 5 stars, but the thing is it is supposed to be a WW2 game based on actual WW2 fighting, like old CoD. But the ending has got me wondering something, since there are Black Ops and Cold war references does this mean that these guys after they find that shit load of Nazi gold n intel, start the events of Nazi Zombies? Like the first people in Nacht der Untoten was US Marine and Soviet Red Army soldier, so could the actual event be this plane going down with wade and Polina or a comrade of hers? And if so, does this mean that the events of CoD WW2 zombies be where the zombie outbreak happened to cause Nacht der Toten? They said at the end in the plane that there are more missions they will partake in the future then he said they were the Vanguard, is this the team that kills the zombies hence the player's characters in zombies? Or is the Vanguard present when Mason, Woods, and Hudson tries to stop the soviets in Black Ops? The ending makes me wonder this. Would be very cool if everything was Linked together in the storylines.
Rommel never liked the SS so why would an SS madman mention him like a tragic loss. Probably because they lost the use of him. Edit: also I see they are not censoring correct ww2 imagery…we haven’t seen that since World at War.
Rommel was a war hero that served in both world wars so even if he didn't like the SS ALOT of people in Germany at that time admired him. Had operation valkyrie succeeded he probably would have been made Reich president.

Inaccuracies I saw: 0:00 - I'll assume that Freisinger's pocket badge, apart from the Wound Badge, was the NSDAP Golden Party Badge which was given to Nazi Party Members who were already registered as of 9 November 1933 and had unbroken Party membership. Of course, this badge should portray the Sw4stika instead of the Iron Cross. 0:01 - The CoD Vanguard wikia states that Freisinger's rank is an SS-Oberst-Gruppenführer or a Colonel-General. However, he is portrayed in the game as a lowly SS-Untersturmführer or Second Lieutenant 0:06 - Given that Freisinger is a Gestapo officer, there should be an epaulette on his right shoulder of his black Allgemeine-SS uniform. 0:19 - The officer in the center of the shot also lacks the same right shoulder epaulette in his uniform. 0:46 - Another SS officer in his black Allgemeine officer uniform lacks the right shoulder epaulette. 1:07 - There seems to be no arabesque on the Wehrmacht General's collar. Additionally, given that he belongs to the Wehrmacht, the Wehrmachtsadler or the eagle emblem should only be on the breast since the arm eagle was only exclusive to the SS. 1:46 - Richter is a SS-Hauptmann or Captain as indicated in his collar, however shoulder tabs indicate his rank as a Standartenführer or Colonel. Additionally, he's also attached to the Sicherheitsdienst or SD so his uniform piping should be colored poison green, not white which is for the infantry. 4:03 - More of an inconsistency but in the cutscene, Arthur carries the MP40 whereas the transition towards the gameplay phase has you carrying the Bren. 4:38 - In the wikia, Lucas ranks as a Second Lieutenant but is shown here as a Corporal. 7:48 - Wade still has the harness from his pilot parachute. 8:23 - It is unclear what exact date but it can be safe to assume that fighting still took place by 1 May 1945 because the day after was when the commander of the Berlin Defence Force, General Helmuth Weidling ordered a cease-fire. 8:55 - The Gewehr 43, despite having a box magazine, was intended to be loaded with 5-round stripper clips, which were a cheaper alternative to the box magazines. 10:25 - The MG42 turret is faced in the opposite direction. 10:43 - Tempelhof Airport fell under Soviet control by April 28-29 so the prospect of Nazi officers escaping there by May 1945 is unthinkable. Plus, Nazi banners would ought to be replaced by the Red Army banners since the Soviets already have control of the airport at this point. 11:20 - Arthur now carries a Sten, which was not his preliminary weapon in the cutscene nor at the start of the mission. 11:37 - The two-handed pistol grip technique (aka modern technique) was developed beginning in the 1950s. Thus, the practice of holding a pistol with two hands is hardly prominent back in WW2. 11:41 - Not an issue but the average Soviet infantryman carried PPSH-41s fitted with the iconic 71-round drum magazine. 13:22 - Despite efforts to make a WW2-era Juggernaut, use of body armor was evident only in British and Soviet units. Additionally, the Flammenwerfer 43 was notably used by sturmpionieres or assault pioneers who assisted infantry in offensive operations. 14:29 - The STG 44 never had drum magazines. It only used 30-round box magazines. 14:47 - Inserting a Panzerschreck rocket like that would cause the warhead itself to fall through the tube. It was generally recommended that using a Panzerschreck was a two-man job, requiring a gunner and a loader. 15:54 - That seems awfully small for a Panzerschreck. 16:06 - Wade carries a Japanese Type 100 SMG which is idiotic considering that 8x22 Nambu ammunition is a rarity (or rather non existent) in Germany at this point. 19:04 - And just magically Arthur's Sten transforms into a Bren. 20:52 - There were no 10.0x Telescopic sights on Kar98Ks; only 4x, 6x, and 8x. 21:22 - The Luger is named Klauser.
@@Deathmare235 You can try comparing his collar rank with Richter's in the cutscenes. Pretty weird considering a lieutenant is able to bark orders to a captain.

How about a sympathetic German main protagonist?
Kind of would be cool if in WaW or any game that's the Battle of Berlin, the Germans had a mixed of weapons like Mosins, Springfields, MAS-36, etc along side thier own weapons to show the desperate nature the Germans are in, going to the extent of using captured arms, another idea is nods to WWI where old weapons like the Gewehr 98, and MG 08s being issued to Soldiers and Volksturrm alike.

Man , the COD developers are trying a way hard to make this game feel like marvel . Its a shame that triple A companies dont get why WAW was so memorable because it had a simpler plot and told a story of soldiers fighting tooth and nail to survive .
This game feels more and more of a piece of historial revisionism to satisfy some political agenda than a historical take of WW2.
I don't think a lot of people are actually praising this game XD.
It's the same ole wall with slightly different paint.
"I diddn't shoot him because he was crazy. I shot him because he was making sense." -Detective Miller
And burning that dude was not the same level of evil as what he was up to and what the Nazis in general were for.
This is somehow closer to alternate historical fiction than actual history

Inaccuracies I saw:
0:00 - I'll assume that Freisinger's pocket badge, apart from the Wound Badge, was the NSDAP Golden Party Badge which was given to Nazi Party Members who were already registered as of 9 November 1933 and had unbroken Party membership. Of course, this badge should portray the Sw4stika instead of the Iron Cross.
0:01 - The CoD Vanguard wikia states that Freisinger's rank is an SS-Oberst-Gruppenführer or a Colonel-General. However, he is portrayed in the game as a lowly SS-Untersturmführer or Second Lieutenant
0:06 - Given that Freisinger is a Gestapo officer, there should be an epaulette on his right shoulder of his black Allgemeine-SS uniform.
Question how is Freisinger portrayed as a second lieutenant and not a colonel general he was the one leading the nazis
@@Deathmare235 You can try comparing his collar rank with Richter's in the cutscenes. Pretty weird considering a lieutenant is able to bark orders to a captain.
Some of this inconsistencies existed in older cod but nevertheless minor in comparison to Vanguard
This generation of games that try and re-write history will never hold a candle to the ones we grew up with from COD1 & United Offensive and Call of duty 2 with capt price and macgregor's funny moments aswell as the old modern warfare versions of callf of duty too, no cosmetics, pure skill in the weapons we used and none of this pay to win or soldier dress up stuff, and the fact that you got stuck with the classes you could choose from and what your soldier wore for that map!.
As much as i do like games like Battlefield 5 and a few others where you can outfit your class / soldier to how you want to play, i do think the old classics were just as good in their own right and helped us players fall in love with such games.
But for me the sad truth is that most indie / 3rd party games or mods that add immersion and realism tend to end up being far more better than most recent games that have come out and don't always persue things just for profit.
This look so good cant say the same about the multiplayer
the chase part reminded me of cod mw3 when you are in london
Looks like they got balls to put a swatiska
gotta love the complainers here ... someone will always have something to say ..
not sure about the "accuracy" of the events here but the game looks amazing .. thanks for sharing the video (s)
If you're not sure about the accuracy (which this game has little to none of) then perhaps you should keep quitlet when regarding the complainers, who are knowledgable about ww2 and know shit when we see it.
@@Kylo_ren518 wait .. so people are complaining about the “events” but not about the actual game ?
I’m I talking to historians or gamers here …
@@Andres-sp2go both, the game is just mw with a ww2 skin over it, nothing innovating or exciting, and bland. And in terms of history, it's bad too. Painting over the work of real heros with poc and women just because "political correctness"
@@Andres-sp2go also when you said "I'm not sure about the accuracy" you kinda input yourself into the topic of historical conversation, and should not be surprised when subjected to the topic.
World at war really aged well
call of duty has produced an excellent masterpiece again... I even enjoyed watching it breathlessly... I can't even think of playing it... I wish I could play...
No you dont. This game is shit.
wait.... a team liberate berlin instead the soviets??
i miss call of duty waw

Wade: C’mon, kids, shit’s on fire out here!
If a company makes a historically accurate ww2 game with a generic ass campaign where you invade beaches and fight in French countryside I would pay 100$.
@ᜐᜒᜆ᜔ᜑ᜔ I could go for an Italian front too.
Too generic and overdone.
I'd rather have something like the invasion of Poland, fall of France from the German/Allied perspective and Norwegian battles by the Royal Navy vs Kriegsmarine.
And the Kokoda Trail, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Philippines for the Pacific.
There's more to WW2 than Normandy, Stalingrad, and Berlin
@@rosaria8384 you don’t have to add that there’s more to world war 2 than Normandy and Berlin. You aren’t the only person in the world who knows ww2. I still want another Normandy and Berlin but done right.
@@rosaria8384 WINTER WAR!
Cod 3 was just that, minus D-Day. It featured Canadian and Polish soldiers
Even though this game is trash, there are a few things I like. The transitions, the cutscenes and even some of the uniforms of the characters.
No wonder the Brits knew about Projekt Nova and went to the North Pole where Renzov and Dmitry were
but wasn't Dr.Steiner had to be the only one who kept the documents about Projekt Nova? Wasn't the plan supposed to be classified?
This is not a prequel to Black Ops 1, is a prequel to Cold War, Cold War is a reboot

I feel like that chase scene is a reference to MW3's Mind the Gap mission.
A lot of the missions in this game felt like references to old games - that Midway mission felt like a combination of Infinite Warfare and Bulge WW2 pilot sequence as an example, and that El Alamein mission has some COD 2 vibe.
Game is built with passion, like the old cod games a master piece
you must be joking that this cash grab was made with passion.

The projects they found on the plane “nova” and the one on revived. Both of those are black ops owned story lines they were hinted in as a Easter egg at the end... that was cool in my opinion only thing cool about the game in my opinion
I'm worried what will happen to the Vanguard once the Cold War starts.
🤣🤣🤣
Well one member is from the Soviet Union so how will they treat her IDK
Fun fact: The vests worn by the German soldiers here appear to be the Italian "Samurai" mag carrier vest...
I don't know if I am the only one but, why nowadays gunshots and explosion sounds on videogames sound less powerful than before? They have like a weird filter on it that make them sound each of them almost the same.
"YOU'RE LUCKY BUGGER!" careful there mate, 2 missed words and we go home.
Projekt Nova...
Steiner: All across America, Dragovich has sleeper cell agents waiting for the signal to release Nova-6.

Swastikas in a WW2 game, it's unheard of...
WaW, WWII?, and all of CoDs older WWII games.

How tf were those SS officers casually drinking if Berlin was completely leveled by air raids and Soviet artillery? It's like Vanguard skipped the Battle of Berlin entirely lmao
the black SS uniforms during the war were left to pageants and parades NOT officers..
