What a c___ of an episode, loved it. By the way boys I'd love to see a full episode explaining how a mine actually works and what all the terms you use in each episode are. Long wall, development, decline, vent, services, ore vs dirt etc etc.
😂 that was the most spirited "Righto Money Miners" to date...in his element! Fuck yes MoM, this was a ripper episode...one of the best yet, great insight to the realities of what makes an ug mine tick! Cant wait for part 2. BTW you should've had a swear jar...could've paid for one hell of an Xmas party. This goes into my top 5 GC episodes alongside the Al Clark alumina special, Stoitis met interview and the Ahmad chats.
I did 26yrs at sea SNR CREW on CRAY/SHARK boats. On one trip, one of the crew brought the worst flu on the FV... we all pretty much got it, but the skipper(we tried... coughing all over his food etc LOL) so no going home or the next 4-days of suffering(Skip finally believed how sick we were) ... we didn't care about catching any fish or making money, just get those nets up and suffered and moaned in the wheelhouse till the next 5am start .. You really think about your life choices when you finding it hard to stand up in 5-6 degrees, rough seas pouring rain in heavy waterproofs wrestling with sharks for $250-$300 a day !!!! and getting yelled at by the skipper for taking your time ... Drove home 3hrs, but felt like 9hrs of torture.... straight to bed for 48hrs sweating a roasting ..recall collapsing in my bathroom dragging myself to bed ..., fuck me how did I do 4 days at work!!!
Once upon a time we were diesel mechanics or “fitters”, these days we have to be a mechanic, an auto sparkie and a computer technician all in one hahaha!!! And don’t worry them heap of shit surface sandvik rigs ran with computers can be just as temperamental with their CAN faults 51:26 🍻 🍻
Anyone who has worked underground will really appreciate this episode. Awesome
Please more of that kind of episodes! Loved the actual operating inside, same with the last one with the feasibility studies.
Pressed the thumbs up within 5 mins of the poddy starting. These fellas are the GCs of the GCs...
Matty sounded as eloquent as JD with these two in the room!
Waxing lyrical indeed
12 years since I've been UG, thanks for bring back some good memories, and a bigger thanks for reminding me why I snatched it completely!
"Blind as a welders dog" 😅😂
Kathleen Valley sounds like all the hype about how good the management is is spot on!
Absolutely loved that one. You ain't going to get insight like this on a formal style podcast. Love your work MoM

100% truth shiftbossing vs jumbo. Why would you Shiftboss for less money than jumbo.
As long as you don't have complete muppets running the show, it's all about the deposit and the commodity price.
I'm still waiting for mattys answer on what an average meter day of drilling is from 4 episodes ago
Which type or drilling? Exploration or Production? If exploration which type?
If you can get more women in it, might help with the “gender pay gap”
What a crack up
