Hey Dan you must do a review on the Lobo Mustang. Its Amazing 13 round magazine in.177 . A PCP 12FT LBS. under lever looks like Winchester, I've joust Bought one.
Hi Jonathan and thanks for the kind comments. It depends on what you're looking for in a PCP. If you don't mind some slightly rougher edges and prioritise a high shot count and a less pellet fussy barrel I'd go for the Alpha. The M16 however to me at least feels like the more refined rifle, the stock is better shaped, the consistency is better through the chrono on average and once you find the pellet they like (usually FTT's or Baracudas) I think they just edge out the Alpha when it comes to accuracy, they're also easier to tweak and tune if you'd be interested in that. Hi Thunder. It's a metric thread I believe but off memory I can't remember what the actual spec is. You can get adaptors however to convert it to 1/2UNF.
Hi Percy, That's a difficult one as I'm a massive fan of both (especially the M22 version of the M11) but I'd personally choose the M16. It's a bit more refined than the M11, lighter, has a better feeling trigger and has a nicer overall stock. Thanks Percy and if you ever need anything never hesitate to give us a shout.
with these around and maybe a little more than the (gun only) rotex RM8 and gamo coyote,do you feel they can compete long term reliability/consistency against them ? given the Artemis is stuck with the"cheap Chinese gun" tag ?
Hey mate, I'd happily bet that the M16's will outlast the pair of them especially if you get the later models with the updated barrels/regs. The other advantage with the M16 is that they're easy as pie to service should anything ever go wrong. There's a saying that I really like that fits the Artemis rifles really well and that's "keep it simple, stupid". If you've got a few allen keys and a screwdriver you can completely strip the M16. All rifles have their own advantages but as someone who has shot all three of them I'd take the Artemis.. it's the best combination of reliability, accuracy, weight and balance. The trigger is also quite a bit better than the RM8's and the Coyote's at least in my opinion. That being said though if shot count is what you're after then the RM8 is undeniably the best.
Hi mate and thanks for watching! This is a difficult one as each rifle is drastically different from each other. Regarding quality and feel I'd give it to the M16 personally as the P15's stock is a little bit on the bland side when new. Regarding accuracy there's almost nothing between them as they're both lasers in this regard. What I will say though is that if you're cursed with longer arms like myself or you're used to heavier rifles then the P15 may feel quite uncomfortable until you get used to it. The M16 feels much more natural to shoulder with it being a full sized rifle. What is definitely worth mentioning though is that although the tuning community for the M16 is pretty big it still pales in comparison to the P15's potential for future upgrades, so if you're a tinkerer you might get more smiles per mile out of the P15. If you're after an easy to use and shoulder rifle that is pellet on pellet the M16 will be for you. If you're after a rifle that is feather light, small and still pellet on pellet and you like pimping your rifles out then it might be worth checking out the P15. Sorry for the wall of text!!
@@bigdansairguns83 Hi mate. Thank you very much for your explanation about both airguns 👍👌 Don't worry about the wall of text 😉. I love it when people explain things like you did.. It makes my choice way easier.. 😁. Are both backyard friendly? Cheers.
@@B-Bandit70 Hey mate, Well the P15 comes with a baffled shroud as standard and the M16 comes with a silencer, that being said though although it definitely lessens the "crack" after the trigger is pulled they still aren't exactly truly silent. It all depends on what your neighbours are like!
@@bigdansairguns83 But still more silent than for example a weihrauch 77 or 97? I shoot from inside the house into the backyard, don't have any problems with my neighbors when I shoot my weihrauch. So if the krack is the same or less as the HW than there's no problem.
@@B-Bandit70 You'll be absolutely fine mate they're both quieter than a HW97 haha. Plus if the rifle is a bit too loud you can replace the standard silencer baffles with hair curlers and it'll be much quieter!
Hi Toshi, pretty much mate yes and it's the same case with the PR900/P15 as well. The Diana also has a walnut stock which is rather fetching I must admit!
I know im a bit late but can you tell me if the gun gave you any trouble after owning and using it for a few years now? I want one but I've been seeing stories of people getting nothing but trouble with them,,, leaky seals and not holding zero ect,,, can you or anyone else tell me your experience with it? Thanks either way 😊
Hi Sam. I never really had any leaks with any of mine. In regards to zeroing the only time they'll lose zero is if the barrel is knocked as the barrel band is a more aesthetic than functional in my experience. The only major issues I had was the cocking pin failing which happened in 2020 as soon as the lockdowns lifted. I don't stock SMK products any more so I can't comment on if it was repaired or not but I'd imagine it's sorted. Other than that they're an excellent rifle and one of my favourite PCP's. Just remember to keep the barrel clean is the only thing as they don't like lead building up.
@@bigdansairguns83 thank you so much for replying, interestingly enough I have an artemis pp750 which developed the same problem (if I'm correct in thinking it's the same part,, the pin that holds the cocking lever to the part that pulls the hammer spring back in the frame of the gun?) But it was thankfully an easy fix... I've had so many smiles per miles with my first Artemis that I think with your video and reply I will be getting the M16 soon enough. Thanks again.
Hey mate, yeah the mags themselves are actually pretty good and I've yet to have a mag jam or fail. You're definitely right about the mike mate haha we'll be sorting out a lapel mic very soon hopefully along with another mic for voice overs. Cheers mate.
saw Giles had one of those styer.semi auto/selfindexing rifle, would you be able to get/try/and review one .plus how do feel they sit within the law ,have read heard that they are skirting on the edge of the regs ? nice gun but high price .
Hey mate, I'm aiming to target some of the cheaper air rifles for my next reviews but I definitely wouldn't say no to trying one if I can get my mitts on one. Semi-auto air rifles are a bit of a grey area when it comes to the law and many manufacturers will refuse to create a semi-auto rifle if it has a rifled barrel. An interesting rifle regarding this situation is the Beretta CX4 Storm CO2 rifle, when it first came out it was a semi-auto with a rifled barrel. However once they started becoming popular and questions started getting raised regarding laws around SA air rifles they quickly changed them to have a smoothbore barrel. As it stands the Steyr is technically legal.. but the questions is for how long?
@@bigdansairguns83 yes ,that's something I heard elsewhere, their ok until something happens then wh n police involved you may well end up in a whole load of doodoo .
Hey Frank. It's not, I think Pellpax are using SMK's own figures which are well out of whack. Some of ours on the site are still the same until we can get the rifles weighed and the site adjusted.

I've always said that the M16's will be the new Rapids as they're ridiculously easy to work on and they provide a great chassis for tuning. A customer of mine swears by the Baracuda pellets alongside the Baracuda FT's and the new Chinese QYS pellets. He's getting single hole groups at 50 yards with them! That pistol will look the bomb when its got those grips mate you'll look like Robocop's wealthier cousin with those haha.
Great review Dan! It's really easy to listen to you despite video being so long. Btw I'm going to get a pcp rifle and decided to go with Artemis, but I still haven't decided exactly which one to get. I'm divided between M16 and P15 (.22 caliber). What are your thoughts or recommendations? Cheers mate!😎🍻
@@VladimirPrsic How does it perform? I got one two months ago, but the accuracy was awful (maybe faulty barrel or reg). Gunsmith couldn't get it right do I sold it promising myself not to get close to Artemis again....but M16 is so tempting..
Hi Steven, both rifles are lovely bits of kit but I'd personally choose the M16 over the M22. For starters the M16 tends to be a bit less pellet fussy and in general it feels like a more refined rifle. The M22/M11 are great rifles and the double regulator system they use makes them incredibly consistent through the chrono but they don't quite have the same finesse and easy of use as the M16 due to them being larger in general and a bit heavier. The action on them is beautiful to use though and I'd happily say that they have the smoothest bolts I've ever used. The M16 is a rapier whereas the M22/M11 is a sledgehammer.
That's nothing you should hear me try to do a Scottish accent it's even worse hahaha. I could do a review like father Jack I suppose.. Rifle! .. Shoots like feck! .. Drink! Maybe I better not.

Hi mate, I knew that name looked familiar haha. I've actually put a post on the Airgun Forum UK regarding serial numbers of the potentially dodgy M16's and the fixed models. It may be worth searching on there and making a note of the numbers so if you pick one up second hand you'll know if it's a good'un or not. The AGF is a great place to join too as there's a ton of helpful members on there and the banter is great too. If buying new you should be fine as the dodgy batch was quite a while ago now and all of our rifles are checked/tested before being released for sale. Thanks mate and as always if you ever need anything never hesitate to get in touch.

Cracking review Dan nicely done cheers , if You get the chance how about a quick comparison test with say the Gamo Phox and a couple of other £500 PCP's , Thanks again keep up the good work .
Hi Richard,
thanks for the comment mate! It's a good idea and I'd love to do a shoot off with the Phox as they're a lovely little rifle. I'm definitely not saying no mate.
(between us... what I'd really love to do is compare the Zbroia Hortitsia against the Artemis M16 alongside the Phox or the Kral Puncher Pro but my suppliers may not be so happy depending on who ends up winning haha, I'll definitely be asking them though!)

What weight barracudas are you shooting, Dan? 4.51 or 4.52?
Hey Kvee!
off memory 10.65grn.
Where is the wink wink shop you mentioned? Love the reviews nicely made and very informative
hey nice video, do you know the thread of the silencer?
Hi Thunder. It's a metric thread I believe but off memory I can't remember what the actual spec is. You can get adaptors however to convert it to 1/2UNF.
@@bigdansairguns83 Thx for the reply, i've just bought one un cal .25 and the adapter from donnyfl let's see how It works
hello dan, nice review. if you have to choose bethewn a m16 or a m11, what would you choose and why? thanks.
Hi Percy,
That's a difficult one as I'm a massive fan of both (especially the M22 version of the M11) but I'd personally choose the M16.
Hey mate,
I'd happily bet that the M16's will outlast the pair of them especially if you get the later models with the updated barrels/regs.
Hi Dan.
I enjoyed your review.
Which one do you prefer quality and accuracy wise? the m16 or the p15?
@@bigdansairguns83
Hi mate.
Thank you very much for your explanation about both airguns 👍👌
Don't worry about the wall of text 😉. I love it when people explain things like you did.. It makes my choice way easier.. 😁.
Are both backyard friendly?
Cheers.
@@B-Bandit70
Hey mate,
Well the P15 comes with a baffled shroud as standard and the M16 comes with a silencer, that being said though although it definitely lessens the "crack" after the trigger is pulled they still aren't exactly truly silent. It all depends on what your neighbours are like!
@@bigdansairguns83
But still more silent than for example a weihrauch 77 or 97?
I shoot from inside the house into the backyard, don't have any problems with my neighbors when I shoot my weihrauch. So if the krack is the same or less as the HW than there's no problem.
@@B-Bandit70 You'll be absolutely fine mate they're both quieter than a HW97 haha. Plus if the rifle is a bit too loud you can replace the standard silencer baffles with hair curlers and it'll be much quieter!
What can say ! Hello taffy . Fair play boyo !
I said I'd get it done didn't I?
Never again though Lawson mate... nobody should have to be put through that ever again.
Is Diana out law and Artemis M16 same gun with different names?
Hi Toshi,
pretty much mate yes and it's the same case with the PR900/P15 as well. The Diana also has a walnut stock which is rather fetching I must admit!
Is the barrel silencer threaded for standard 1/2" unf or is it a custom thread ? I want to use my own silencer ...thanks
Looks like another Bic biro pen top job poking the pellets into the mag, now Dan you need a new microphone cover or mike set up. good vide
Hey mate,
yeah the mags themselves are actually pretty good and I've yet to have a mag jam or fail.
You're definitely right about the mike mate haha we'll be sorting out a lapel mic very soon hopefully along with another mic for voice overs.
Cheers mate.
I prefer trigger mounted safety's.
saw Giles had one of those styer.semi auto/selfindexing rifle, would you be able to get/try/and review one .plus how do feel they sit within the law ,have read heard that they are skirting on the edge of the regs ? nice gun but high price .
Hey mate,
I'm aiming to target some of the cheaper air rifles for my next reviews but I definitely wouldn't say no to trying one if I can get my mitts on one.
Sounds either Irish or maybe Geordie rather than Welsh except for the Boy-o bit!
Don't forget the sheep!
Great review s
hate safety on trigger.
but never really use the safety looking at P35 myself
Does a tight mag affect accuracy?
That accent was more like something from the Six Nations!
hey dan! this model on pellpaax says it weighs 5lb..
Hey Frank.
It's not, I think Pellpax are using SMK's own figures which are well out of whack. Some of ours on the site are still the same until we can get the rifles weighed and the site adjusted.
Is The muzzle tread 1/2 20 unf?
Is there any precaution to not load more then one pellet per shot?
Hi mate,
Unfortunately not I'm afraid mate.
Hi Dan, when are you going to re-test this with the Wasps?
Does the m16D like those barracuda as well ?
If it was possible to do every British accent in a few seconds including Republican Irish, American, a dash of Icelandic and mainly North Walian and Scouse, well done. My mate Welsh Willie from a mile or so across the way as the crow flies would die laughing. But as they say here in Swansea, Cowin Lush.🤣

I'm glad you enjoyed my butchard Welsh boyo. 😆
Im getting an Artemis m16a and an air tank and im going to pop a hawk 2x7x32 on it and its going to be my cheap theoben rapid because im not gettimg a rapid they dont make spares and the people that have them for sale want gazillions for them and even more for the rifles yh the stocks not as nice but with a harris bipod on there its just as good im defo getting a .177 and a fuck ton of barracuda and barracuda hunter xtreme pellets and the copper costed ftts too...im getting the Artemis pistol aswell and im making walnut grips for it 😁😁😁😁😁✌👾
Hi mate,
Yeah it's a shame about the Rapids as they're really lovely rifles but where they're getting a bit rare the prices are only going to go up.
Sir 50 yard target for best pellt m16
Sir barcuda pellet how grain
kailum O'Connor is mega into it
Do you still have this gun in stock?
Great review Dan! It's really easy to listen to you despite video being so long. Btw I'm going to get a pcp rifle and decided to go with Artemis, but I still haven't decided exactly which one to get. I'm divided between M16 and P15 (.22 caliber). What are your thoughts or recommendations? Cheers mate!😎🍻
Did you get p15??
@@gosbeskidu1929 Yes, a .22 version.
@@VladimirPrsic How does it perform? I got one two months ago, but the accuracy was awful (maybe faulty barrel or reg). Gunsmith couldn't get it right do I sold it promising myself not to get close to Artemis again....but M16 is so tempting..
@Głos Beskidu mine performs well. Do you have warranty?
@@VladimirPrsic yes but no contact with a store...
Hi. Which one do you think better. M16 vs M22 ?
Hi Steven,
both rifles are lovely bits of kit but I'd personally choose the M16 over the M22.
@@bigdansairguns83 thank you for the sharing. I will get M16 instead of M22 😁
mmm head it more like that fella out of father Ted lol
That's nothing you should hear me try to do a Scottish accent it's even worse hahaha.
I could do a review like father Jack I suppose..

Hi again Dan, we eMailed back and forth about my disabled grandson. Cant get an Alpha, but will look for this one, or the 16a. My question, what do I look for to get the latest model and avoid the MK1's troubles. Cheers.
Hi mate,
I knew that name looked familiar haha.
Max 700 fps?? Can to 900fps or 1000fps?

WHERE?!
Just kidding haha.
Years of joy was not even close probable around 2 hours....Sadly the artems m16 is garbage, i managed to fire under 200 jsb hades over 2 days of gentle shooting and the trigger horribly malfunctioned i got my money refunded, be warned people there cheap for a reason save up for something better i wish i had. :'(
You must lear to shoot or the Artemis M16 is crap. I can shoot better groups with my HW50 neck-beak spring-gun at 25 meters. My best 5 shot group is the size of 'n .22 pellet.
