- The homie and I are finally back with another movie night reaction. We will be watching one of my friend's favorite movie as a child: The Transformers 1986 Movie. I was told how this movie was very different from the cartoon show, so I am interested to see this!

25:28 According to the show’s cannon, Ultra Magnus didn’t die was because his torso was intact. His spark, a Transformer’s soul, was in his chest and the chamber it’s in wasn’t ruptured like Optimus’s had been. Ultra Magnus was in stasis lock. Sort of like a coma they go into when so severely damaged even life functions would take away from keeping their spark going.
But yeah, real life? Toys. Super dope toys for the time.

I'm glad you had so much fun with it. Your reaction was hilarious. As one of those kids who was traumatized, I'm glad you could get laughs. Unicron is my favorite Transformer but he's up on some great old god stuff. Unicron is Primus' twin brother in the extended lore, Primus is the father god of all Transformers. They are two parts of an older entity who sent them into the universe to explore. Primus loved it, Unicron wanted to puke. He hates everything about existence and if left unchecked will literally consume every single thing in a Universe until he is all that's left. According to the Transformers Multiverse, he's eaten about a quarter of all known universes. Black Air Force Energy is but a subdivision of Unicron. Not even Darkseid is that much of a hater.
great editing, nice reactions, for a movie that I saw on opening day in 1986. Nice to see new generations see what my generation considered their favorite Transformers experience growing up. Thank you guys.
As a kid this movie traumatized me. Optimus, Starscream, Megatron all dead!
To be honest Starscream was the best part of the shows. He got the most character stuff and got a lot of episodes where he was the main character. Plus he was an actual round and dynamic character unlike literally everyone else
I can see why this movie would traumatize kids. Even though they were robots, there were some brutal deaths in this movie. I didn't expect them to kill some of the main cast like Optimus and Megatron!
That's why the movie was great! Shock value! This movie made kids grow up! Sick of these Rainbow Bright shows! They were in a civil cybertronian war with casualties, Optimus hesitation like in the series killed him. Megatron lust for power cost him, Starscream back stabbing eventually got him as well! Of course they did it to sell toys, but l like the way they develop the characters to exploit their weakness to their own demise! The movie was about Hotrod development into Rodimus, and to this day he is my favorite Autobot. Hotrod/Rodimus is a relatable character that was underrated because fans thought he was responsible for Optimus, but that's far from the truth? Optimus had almost 20 seconds? You can't hesitate with Megatron.

@@cailanloki2450 Change is Good, Decepticons lost Cybertron.they were losers for once, under Optimus the Autobots flat out lost Cybertron. Galvatron did act like Megatron in the movie but was more cocky! He even referred to his former self when talking to Ultra Magnus. When Hotrod transformed to Rodimus and hearing Optimus and getting his head cracked open through Unicron thick body after Rodimus throwing across the Galaxy and laying in a lava pit his logic circuits was exposed due to the crack in his head, suffered from Hotrod transformation into Rodimus Prime overpowering him.
In the original script, the Sweeps were supposed to grab Ultra Magnus by the wrists and ankles with tractor beams ans then rip him in four... but they thought that might be too brutal for kids...
The rest of the movie, though, A-OK...
Woah Woah Woah! That probably would have been the most gruesome death in the movie if they included it.
It's interesting they removed that, but including the transformers dissolving scene
@@trashdakid3682 The way they let Iron Hide die they could of kept it in? I can't stand the live action movies but Bay's first one, the other including Rise of the Beast are pretenders Transformers.

When I saw this in the movie theater when iit first came out, it went silent when Optimus Prime died. Followed by tears and shock.

The show's producers had to do an emergency ret-con to thier plans and find a way to resurrect Optimus in Season 3 of the show. They also brought back Starscream as a literal ghost. Oh, and the Decepticon "dog", Ravage, is actually a panther.

Every toy I had in the 80's died in the 1st 30 minutes BUT I still adore this movie!
The one liners in this movie was hilarious

Yeah, I think they added an oh shit to get a pg rating in there, so as to get more parents into the theaters with their kids so the kids could better illustrate to their parents what toys they wanted.

8:59 In Transformers victory Japan exclusive( to my knowledge) Prowl and Wheeljack were in that show and does take place in G1 continuity their are in universe reason for why their their. Prowl was Chase( the kid from the show in a wheelchair) reborn as a autobot, and Whheljack involves time travel both of how they are alive again is said in the Binary storyline. The out of universe reason is because Japan got Transformers the movie later as such the victory crew didn't know the deaths in that movie.

@@cailanloki2450 Aside from being a toy-parade, Season 4 wasn't that bad. Also, it was only 3 episodes long. It didn't have time to be awful. Besides, Optimus is alive again for it.

This movie is not a comedy. Serious battle. Why you can laugh every moment? You should not watch this movie. You are insulting Transformers The Movie.
There were funny moments, so we laughed. There's nothing else to it.

They messed up on the Transformers movies. In the original Transformers animated cartoon series. Megatron was a gun not a Jet fighter. Also in the original Transformers animated cartoon series. Megatron was never frozen on Earth like it showed in the first Transformers live action movie. The first Transformers live action movie showed a Decepticon police car. The Decepticons never had a police car. In the beginning of the original Transformers cartoon series. The Decepticons mostly had Jet fighters. With the exception of Megatron being a gun, Soundwave being a cassette recorder/walkman, and Shockwave not too sure what he is because he stayed on cybertron. Later the Decepticons had Automobiles like the Constructicons and the Stunticons. Also including the Insecticons. Plus The Decepticons had 2 triple changers. One called Astrotrain that transformed into a space shuttle and a train. The other triple changer is called Blitzwing that transformed into a jet plane and a tank. The Autobots Introduced Jetfire who is a plane later in the original cartoon series. Jetfire was an Autobot that was frozen on Earth. In the original cartoon series. It was the Autobots that always had cars and Bumblebee was a VW bug. Then later on in the original cartoon series the Autobots added the Dinobots. Who were transforming dinosaurs. Also the Autobots added the Aerialbots That transformed into planes. Plus I can't forget Omega Supreme who is an Autobot that transforms into a rocket. This is what happens when people start believing in what the movies put out and not knowing the history of the Transformers. If they would've made the movies just like the cartoon series. Then the movies would be great. But the movies are just ok.
It seems like these 2 guys would rather make fun of the original Transformers animated movie than actually review it.
Well, it's my style of reaction videos on this channel when we watch movies. We crack jokes and enjoy the movie. If you don't like it, then it is what it is.

@louiedavis4909 Oh, I definitely liked the movie. My friend watched this as a kid and said this would be a good watch. Now it was impossible for us not to make jokes at that kid lol
Now, there are 2 movies we did react to in the past where we 100% did not like watching.
