The economics on this bike are terrific. The motor feels a little weak in the composed chassis. I am hoping they at least put the new '24 Duke engine in for '25.

  • @stephanematis

I think you should have mentioned that this bike is essentially a 390 Duke with posture and aero tweaks and how the 2025 version will be changed significantly, as it will get all the '24 Duke changes. All these European A2 compliant bikes have performance/weight limits set, so in essence, this bike is pushing that very envelope hard. Small weight reduction tweaks is where you'll get additional performance, like lighter battery and a 415 chain/sprocket conversion, perhaps an obvious option if you wish to track it. I like this generation as there is a massive amount of after-market options, but it sounds like the newer series benefits from chassis improvements. If you want that more, the '25 model for both the RC and the Adventure.

I think people understand that it shares an engine with a 390 Duke. I do think they're quite different bikes though, so when you say posture and aero tweaks, I say those are pieces that affect the character of the bike. Also where I film, in Canada, we don't have A2 license restrictions, so things are different here. But I hear what you're saying. I'm looking forward to seeing the next generation when it arrives as well. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.

@@PeterLoweOnethe 24 Duke has a 398.6cc engine and this RC has the old gen Duke engine which is a 373cc.
It makes the difference in the top end performance at speeds above 160kmph

It's great a bike the older rc 390 wasn't as comfortable and better quality as this new one.
Surprisingly it's good for daily commute.
I hope it comes with the new 398 cc engine and tech from the new 390 duke this year

Yeah the pics of rc390 test mule has been surfacing.
Can't say anything now but let's hope they make the design as appealing as the one shown in the video

Cool KTM RC390 design here and the best I've seen of the bike so far IMO. Thanks for the review. I like the orange/black and the orange rims too. The headlight reminds me of the new Suzuki and Yamaha single center headlights of the 1980s sportbikes.

I loved the design of the 1st gen RC 200. I had it for 8 years and wanted to buy the next gen RC 390. However, they released this ugly front design, so I went for a Suzuki instead...
