    Do I have to keep buying and replenishing the microbes, or do they sustain themselves through self-replication as long as they're provided with 'food'?

    • @kimandtech
      @kimandtech  5 месяцев назад

      They are supposed to sustain themselves and self-replicate. However, they can deteriorate if prohibited waste is dumped into this composter, which then I'd recommend you reach out to their support them, so they can better help you with your situation.

      I own and daily use one of these things. It's really hard to kill the microbial colony. I mean, I guess if you doused it in bleach, you could, but they are self-propagating and if you somehow forget about them for a while without water, they will get stressed and go into a spore-producing mode and remain dormant until you rehydrate them. In a sense, they're a lot like the composting red worms I used to maintain, but much less needy.

      @MikeTrieu Yup! That’s what I’ve heard as well! Good to know that the Reencle is easier than taking care of the worms.

    I know this has nothing to do with the video but which WiFi system did you end up going with?

    • @kimandtech
      @kimandtech  5 месяцев назад

      @Patriot27922 No worries, thank you so much for your interest in my WiFi System videos! I recently picked up the new Deco BE16000 at Costco to wrap up some testing that I didn't get to test the first time around. So far the speed and consistency have been great, but I haven't gotten a chance to review the logs to share my thoughts regarding privacy concerns. Then, I plan to hopefully move on to testing Asus after that. I apologize that this process is taking longer than expected. Please bear with me.
      As to answer your question, TP-Link Deco definitely works better for me so far in terms of performance from the WiFi Mesh Systems that I've shared. Although I haven't looked at the logs yet for the BE16000, I think the privacy issue of outgoing traffic to its 3rd-party vendor is probably still not fixed, so I'm still on the search for a WiFi Mesh System that will satisfy my requirements. Or maybe there isn't any, and I have to create a certain setup for what I'm looking for. I really don't know at the moment as I'm trying to test what I can with my budget, and inform everyone what I find with my videos. If I come by a product that I will stick with, I'll definitely share what it is.
      Sorry for the long-winded response.

    I have both a Vitamix FoodCycler and a Reencle. They work synergistically to produce the finest compost material that neither of the two can make on their own. I just need a solution that can grind hard animal bones into dust. Now that I've typed that, I realize that totally makes me sound like a serial killer. I swear I'm not 😂

      @MikeTrieu Thank you so much for sharing your experience! Since this is a public comment, I doubt you’d want to leave such a BIG clue if you were a serial killer. However, if you were, then you’re asking to get caught lol JK. 😜
      Since they work synergistically for you, do you dump the broken down material from the Vitamix FoodCycler to the Reencle since the FoodCycler isn’t a composter? Or you have another means to turn the FoodCycler’s results into compost?

    • @MikeTrieu
      @MikeTrieu 4 месяца назад

      @@kimandtech Exactly, the output from the FoodCycler gets dumped into the Reencle to get further broken down. Usually, within 24 hrs, the contents of the Reencle look homogenous and completely disintegrated again.
      P.S. After doing some research on RUclips, I found that you can make tough animal bones brittle just by tossing them into a pressure cooker (i.e. Instant Pot) for a few hours. That way, I can chuck those processed bones into the FoodCycler later and basically make bone meal and make my Reencle compost have a bit more calcium and phosphorus.
