Nice truck young man.., built, not bought, is the best way.. 👍 Recently gone sas on my isuzi, sas common in the states, not so much in the UK, so all my own work, I went MK3 hilux axle on coils, works a treat, keep 4 wheeling, and keep the videos coming.. 👍
Thanks for sharing, keep up the good work, I have a 98 Hilux dual cab, but still can’t get around to work on it. really nice to watch what you made out of it, keep sharing.👍✌️
Not sure of the context but passion makes up only the Attitude aspect of this... Knowledge and Skills are kinda handy when building anything more serious than a beer can tower. This may not be ‘formal’ training, but its definitely more than passion. This bloke, obviously, has had considerable time on the tools. And free access to them.... Passion doesn’t know how to redesign suspension geometry and have it work with driveline and steering components. Would’ve loved to be an Astronaut as a small child, doesn’t mean I should, or could, be trusted to build the rocket tho. But yea, without a Fair Dinkum desire to do it, and his self proclaimed ‘perfectionist’ approach, (👏 not enough folks give a rats about the little things) there is no way even a ‘qualified’ Turner or Machinist would do the hard yards to get it juuust right. (Complete package wise) Congrats👍🏻 I feel your pain though when trying to work with other, less... considered, people. Especially mates lol. I bet they hate working with you on projects your helping them with, as you do with them. Lol. Stay true lad.
Hi Matt. You’re far more experienced than I’ll likely ever be. May I please ask your advice? I’m Canadian and have a 1988 2.8L Diesel Toyota Hilux. These trucks are super popular in Australia, but not in Canada. I imported mine from Japan. My truck has low mileage with naturally aspirated engine, but I am considering adding a turbo. In your opinion, is spending the money on a turbo worth the investment in terms of improved performance?? Is it safe to do without putting too much extra stress on the engine? I’ve heard it is safe as long as the boost pressure is kept to about 10 psi, but I have no experience with this, so don’t know for sure. I look forward to hearing your advice! It is so great you do all that work yourself!
Yes it's safe to turbo. If anything it's better for the engine. More air burning the same amount of fuel means the engine will get less hot. It adds a noticeable improvement to performance just adding a turbo alone. Goes up hill 1 gear higher and 10% improvement in fuel economy in my experience
Jump on ebay, get a cheep stick welder for $200 then duck off to bunnings and grab some sticks, a helmet and gloves. Come back to youtube and spend 15 minutes watching videos then go start making some mistakes. You will be able to weld within a few days, make some more mistake and watch a few more tutorials and a few months later you will wonder why you didn't do it sooner. Don't get scared about working with steel, remember that with a welder, you can fix about anything metal.
HELLO Matt, i am from tahiti french polynesia. I have a favor to ask you, please. I have the same toyota like the first we see on the video, ln166 and im looking for a turbo kit for my truck, do you know a where i can find and by one ? please

Nick Zoumis Unless you can fabricate metal components to spec at will.... just buy a leaf sprung 90-95 model. This thing is awesome but the thought of paying pro’s to do this is.... SCARY, to say the least.... Equivalent money could buy you some serious level toys
Mad truck! I've got an '03 Lux SR5 3.4L V6 petrol/lpg with a 2 inch, exhaust from heads back with high flow cat, snorkel going on next week. Currently has 255/70/15 on the OEM 15" wheels, anyone have any advice on a mid-range all terrain tyre that's a bit chunkier (read wider and taller)???

Top work! Self taught here too, but somewhat lower down on the skill level (I can't weld for one), but I do love my auto electrics.
