I loved your reaction! It is such a soothing song. But he went through some tough times after leaving PTX and ‘Chains’, ‘The Summit’ and ‘It Knows Me’ tell of that dark time. Then ‘Change on the Rise’ ‘I’ll Get By’, ‘Song for the Thankful’ ‘Get Down’ signal a new strength. ‘Born in California’ ‘Aberdeen’ are fabulous and ’Sweet Adeline’ is a song to an old love. He’s got a new album out in May and his latest 3 songs ‘First Place I Go’, ‘I’ll Get By’ and ‘I Can’t Lie’ are from that. I look forward to more of your reactions!
Thank you for this reaction, I’m happy that you are delving into Avi’s music. “Peaceful and soothing”, that’s how I feel too, just love his voice and meaningful lyrics. May I suggest some more songs for you? “First Place I Go”, “All Is Well” and “I Can’t Lie”. They are all on his new full album coming out 20 May.
This is some really old Avi. All of his songs are awesome, but I can’t wait for you to get to some of the newer material! His Floating on a Dream album just released May 20. Check He Don’t Love You Right for vulnerable upper tones, or When I’m a Fool for that powerful bass he’s know for. My Queen is a peaceful, old Egyptian feel. If you want “twang,” the older cover of Hey Ya, and Sweet Adeline (part 1 / original) have it in full.
I enjoyed your reaction. Yes Avi is quite happy now. Not stressed as he felt before. Based on the 2 you have liked of Avi's originals I would suggest either "All is Well ft. Joy Williams" or for fun "I Can't Lie" speaking of twang 😁
I agree with all the suggestions but would also add some older stuff "Quarter Past Four" and "Black is The Color of My True Love's Hair" with Peter Hollens. That one is just for an appreciation of his vocal ability. He takes me to another place when he sings. Enjoy!
For a different listen, check out this performance of "Otherside" from April 2019, when the song was released. Here he's performing it with the participants in a choral festival named after him with 200+ young singers from around the country. Listen for when he goes super low in the second chorus. It rumbles. ruclips.net/video/5O-m6sKPLr0/видео.html
Hi Nina, I hope you have recovered from the surgery. If you are feeling well, then I can give you more boxing-related requests, as there are some clips I'm really excited to show you. But I think I'll wait with that until you publish the Overeem video. Have a nice day !
Yes, such a calming song..my 1st time ever hearing his music. Peaceful.

"Rich" is a great way to describe his voice. Thanks, Nina.
