I think this is the first Astronomy song with actual discernible lyrics. Makes it very unique in my eyes. It humanizes it in the way his other Astronomy tracks aren’t. Definitely a good way to start the second volume of Astronomy tracks.
it reminds me a lot of 'Hearing' actually! the first few listens i thought it was just harmonising until i listened more closely and it actually said 'love is an echo'
I remember hearing some lyrics in the powehi song “invisible, made visible”
Kathryn Rowe that was Spitzer I think. But this song’s lyrics are much more discernible
Sleeping at last makes the music, that is beyond heaven. You can hear the whole universe in it
I had to hold back from listening to this instantly when I saw the announcement on my phone (clearly took me a few days). I constantly looked at the video, debated if I should push play and eventually would stop myself. I don't know how to describe it, but I knew this song would leave a lasting feeling within me. I think we've all felt it before. That, homesick feel. Homesick for something that doesn't exactly exist nor is tangible. And, sure enough, as I listen, I feel homesick.
But... I think I know why. It has a sense of comfort of what was, what happened and what is. Something happened. A lot happened. And I don't think we can go back to the home we once had. Things are changing and we are alive in it. I'm homesick, but we can survive the change. We've made it really far... the title makes sense. We can come back around. But, it'll be different..

This song hurts a little. 2020 is so messed up and I have dedicated my life to saving the world so there is freedom all over America. Sleeping at Last really is the best.
