  • Had the chance to make a pitstop at NCTM on Friday to check out the "steam over Spencer" live steam setup. It wasn't a bad setup, with 4 tracks and various equipment making rounds. Just wish they had set it up where you could see more than just a half of each setup! Thus you'll see many repeat angles and equipment- as there wasn't a ton hot and running.
Highlights for me were catching BCOL 2860 making some laps, 4449 parked alongside, and my first glimpse at a live steam JNR C62 hudson- naturally hidden at the back.

It looked like 2860 was struggling to gain traction. The SP GS-4 is one I would get to be honest. Though that Accucraft Talyllyn at 2:02 would be neat to have.

Dude imagine your usual fails videos but with a layout for these behemoths

It would hurt more, these cost substantially more to fix than the HO equipment in a worst case scenario.

@@SCL3618 and if they’re steam powered I can only imagine how hard it would be to pick them up to fix them if they’re still warm

I wish I had remembered this, as I live about 45 minutes away. Went last year and had a blast. Maybe next year. Great vid!

Thanks for watching! Wish I had been able to get a few more angles + equipment running, but made do with what I could.

I have actually climbed into the cab of Royal Hudson 2860. It is on display at the British Columbia rail Museum in Squamish, BC Canada.
