Best band in the world. Steve Hogarth is amazing.
Marillion immortali...Steve Hogarth immenso unico voce divina----
Mitici!!!!
the best thing about marillion is that they never got stuck in the "big" scene , they are their own entity , best band ever in my opinion
What a amazing person Steve is! His perspective along with the rest of the band is spot on! Being greedy I hope we get a few more albums of exceptional music after this one too! The music will be their legacy long into the future.
Yes, Paris too :D Here's to Marillion, H, the music and the soul of this wonderful band ! Vive Montréal !
You are a star to me, Steve!
H such a wonderful Guy! :) Can't wait to see them again in Montreal. I met him once at my first Marillion Weekend. So down to earth. He remembered playing a small club here in Vermont back in the day. Awesome! Brent
Ill be there. Looking forward to it.
This band is my life 😍
Well said Steve Hogarth!! Is was over 30 years ago!! Best band in the world with Steve Hogarth.
Good to hear you Steve. Got a pic with you 2017 backstage Leicester, taken by my son who is now 17 on our trip from New Zealand. Always amazed you gave us the time when you must have been exhausted after the Weekend. Great interview.
Good point by Steve Hogarth regarding the musical integrity of the band not being compromised by fortune and
fame , Genesis in the words of Phil Collins himself 'sold out ' but accumulated vast sums of money
in the process .It must be difficult to be in a band and not take the easy option if money and fame
are your goal . Marillion seem content with their lot happy to record and play their music without
having to compromise
Sorry but genesis didn't sell out it was just how they wanted to evolve with two members leaving. They had plenty of money and didn't need to sell out. Marillion don't find it easy to write commercial songs and so their evolutionary path is different.
@@progpuss i am only repeating what Phil Collins himself said , as a Genesis fan since 1973 i noticed
after wind and wuthering the bands sound changed a great deal , shorter songs became the norm
and the subject matter of those songs changed greatly also, ultimately arriving at a more 'commercial '
sound.A Genesis concert was always a great event regardless of the material played
Newly subscribed. Great interview with H... the man and the band have been my lifelong love and have given my life its sublime soundtrack
Amazing band and the new album is astonishing
Really enjoyable, educational and elaborative. Thank you gentlemen.
Saw Marillion in Montreal in late 1992, I personally think their music melds well with the city, specially during the winter months... I remember putting Brave on the car stereo in February 1994, and just driving around the city at night, it just clicks
Can't stop listen to Marillion's music. What more can I say?
Great interview!! I'd love to see more of this
Been a fan since day one. See you in Montréal!!!
hIS PODCAST IS GREAT
I only discovered Marrilion this year. Oddly they escaped my perveiw for many years and I now need to work backwards. I truly think they may be one of the greatest bands in our times. It is so wonderful to see them making such incredible new music. I wish they could also write about more current issues such as our new war that Russia has gifted humanity. Maybe they can work another song onto the forthcoming album. But I am sure all would be happy to hear the next album and what they come up with. Lastly I would love to spend time with Mr. Hogarth over a meal. I like his manner of speaking and thoughtful commentary
Great band. My first Marillion show was the Seasons End tour in 1990. Seen them many times since of course.
I love the 2 songs i have heard so far. I am a Nurse and can totally relate to the inspiration for the song "Care" I am also dealing with sarcoma while caring for others. Can't wait to hear the song.
Great job Jim. Ron S.
Ron!!!!!!
I'm sure it wasn't intentioned, but, WOW! What a lazy interview. Bringing up freaking Fish after 30+ years and contemplating why radio isn't playing a band of 60+ year olds instead of concentrating on the NEW album was just such a bad choice. Honestly, I don't buy that the interviewer has "been with the band since the beginning and up to today." If that was really true, he'd be excited to discuss the new album instead of re-treading the same old shite. I would think most fans are tuning in to get more of a sense about An Hour Before It's Dark instead of "Why aren't you hitting on radio and how did it feel to replace Fish?"
How dare theses questions be asked. Maybe you know the answers but that does not mean others don't. BTW, I have every album they every released plus every Fish album and all the live recordings. Would you like some pictures
Anyone that knows the band or has done their research know yhe subject is lame and old news
That said the rest of the interview is top notch ....enjoyed it
