In my first playthrough, I had my best people (Reynauld, Dismas, and a vestel) die by him besides my bounty hunter. Even though I was obviously upset, I kinda like the tragic story of the sole survivor pushing through and leading the charge. I also learned my playstyle of trying to maintain and carefully watch for everyone had major flaws facing a powerful enemy like him.
Played a bit last night trying to find the necromancers apprentice and found every room except that one. Whole party got abusive and these were my characters I had leveled up. My whole party gets heart attacks 3 die while fighting the necromancer. Somehow escape and retreat... I’m having Vietnam flashbacks just thinking about it.
I was leveling up two vestals and two crusaders when I encountered the fanatic for the first time. 3/4 party members died gruesome deaths with only one escaping. it was just a slugging match for a while and they managed to do some damage to him but it was completely pointless, a bad concoction of inexperience against the fanatic and bad party for him did them in. This party was by no means prepared for the fanatic and it was one of my favorite parties, I put loads of money and time into these characters and others like them. I enjoy making crusader-esq parties so I try to recruit as many vestals and crusaders as possible, The last batch that I’m talking about now was the best of them. It’s quite ironic how they were burned away by the fanatic. This was the third mission in a row where dumb luck and death slowly chipped away at my small army of holy warriors. I think I have PTSD...I can still hear the screams...
The fanatic, i love that boss, especially when i use a team who can't fight a boss, he appear in the first and only path of the first room of the floor, the money i got the last mission disapeared much faster i could imagine it would...
I have defeated the baron, I have defeated the viscount and I managed to beat the countess and the crocodilian , but I have yet to defeat the fucking fanatic. That guy always appears in a run that I want to use an antiquarium.
Yeah, I was afraid of the collector too untill I battled him with an occultist that had eldritch pull. But the other thing? Only saw it once and uh Dont wanna see it again
I grabbed a strong team, ready to take on the fanatic... then he didn't show up cuz i had only 1 person with crimson curse and i didn't knew how he works
Once I went into the Ruins with the party of lvl3 two antiquarians, one flagellant and one man-at-arms, and the Fanatic spawned and I somehow killed him
I was able to beat the fanatic once, on ps4 before the Flagellant nerf. I scummed the auto save a lot before they patched it and it was the only reason I got as far as I did. Now, with no save scumming and a balanced flagellant... I will have to try again. If I can't rise to meet even this small challenge, then how can I expect to withstand the abject darkness that is the heart of all evil?
15 speed mosquito with more health than a cultist dude wearing 2 claws and a skull headress than has a move that can do damage, do stress damage, heal him AND INCREASE HIS DODGE while his other stress attack skill DOES HUGE STRESS DAMAGE AND CAN STUN. WHAT IN THE ACTUAL FUCK I'm fucking fuming dude
First time I ran into this guy... somehow I lived because healing vestal with hippopotamus or whatever with mega death counter highway boy and dot plague contamination doctor, oh and a flag... first fight encounter... level 2... I won yes but wellll... that was the only encounter I did... GG.

8lue8erries a tip and trick when wanting to find bosses, the boss will always be in the furthest room from you starting point, I hope this helps.
