The pacing and cramming of some information in S2 of ARCANE is for sure a problem. Thats why i kind off wished it ended with Viktor transforming at the end of Episode 6 and make it as the finale scene of episode 9 so it leaves it at an different open ending even if they weren't gonna do a season 3. Or they could have made it 6 episodes for S2 and 3-6 episode for season 3 If it would have been the case then they could have fleshed everything else out and expanded some scenes.

The very first episode of The Penguin showed exactly what Oz was like. He only saved Victor because he thought of a use of him, i.e., becoming his driver and serving him. Once that purpose was no longer needed, Oz didn't need Victor, and that came full circle in the last episode. The amount of signs shown of Oz being the villian was everywhere; he killed his brothers just because they treated him badly once. As for Arcane, season 2 is definitely a step down from the first season. The storytelling and direction just isn't the same. The music video style feels forced and a waste of actual good storytelling, they feel like someone said "we need some padding" and that was their solution. The storytelling has definitely taken a back seat compared to the first season.
On Arcane, I've only seen Ep 1-3 and I have to agree with Jedi Brooks and Mauler. My word for the start of S2 is rushed. It just feels rushed. I see all of the beats playing out over time, but we aren't given the time.

On the topic of a great comedy in the last decade, for me the closest movie would probably be The Death of Stalin(2017). Havent seen Jojo Rabbit(2019), so no idea about that. And then other memorable comedy movies for me would be Kingsman: The Secret Service (2014), Deadpool(2016), Deadpool 2 (2018), The Lego Movie (2014), The Lego Batman Movie (2017). Penguin's dream is to be beloved as Rex. Mauler or Drinker pointed out that he had no understanding of how Rex got there. Rex said that he was looking for people that were looking for a father figure, not driven by the money and the Penguin killed his perfect little soldier in a diametrical opposite of what Rex would have done, relying only the second in command that are driven by power.
I'm not even sure Rex was beloved by anyone other than Oz. At least nothing of that was actually shown. It's like Oz builds these delusional realties he prefers living in. He also seems to only care what someone can provide him with. Even his mother. He only wanted her as a way to validate himself.

Yeah it took my way too long to realise there was a time jump between acts 1 and 2, didn’t really like the Mel storyline, but still love the overall season. Act 2 is a huge improvement over act 1, and come on the Warwick hug is just heart wrenching knowing it’s Arcane and nothing good will last.

The only way to fix Star Wars is through a hostile takeover or, to a lesser degree, a James Gunn-style approach where he essentially said, 'Yeah, I know you love the Snyderverse, but it’s not canon anymore, and we’re rebooting everything.' At least with Disney’s Star Wars, it isn’t as beloved as Zack Snyder and the Snyderverse, so it should face slightly less backlash. You’d have to remove everything Disney created from the current canon and place it in the Legends category, keeping only the OT (Original Trilogy) and the Prequels as canon. Maybe you throw in The Mandalorian, The Clone Wars, Rogue One, and Andor as a gesture of goodwill, but everything else has to go! Before any of that, though, you’d need to clean house and fire anyone who isn’t directly involved in animation, visual effects, sound design, etc. That includes the story group, Dave Filoni, Pablo Hidalgo, and others. They’d have to go before anything else could happen!

I love Mauler's 'mistic' status of Arcane... I'm there too! Jedi's it's more graphic than story driven is my concern there too. Although after the second part of the trilogy I'm more optimistic... but it's a very high benchmark and balanced very on a knife edge at the moment. It's good to great at the moment solid 7 trending to 8 out of 10) rather than incredible (most of season 1 is 10/10).

Penguin's dream is to be beloved as Rex. Mauler or Drinker pointed out that he had no understanding of how Rex got there. Rex said that he was looking for people that were looking for a father figure, not driven by the money and the Penguin killed his perfect little soldier in a diametrical opposite of what Rex would have done, relying only the second in command that are driven by power.
I'm not even sure Rex was beloved by anyone other than Oz. At least nothing of that was actually shown. It's like Oz builds these delusional realties he prefers living in. He also seems to only care what someone can provide him with. Even his mother. He only wanted her as a way to validate himself.

My simple take on season 2 is that the first season was extremely well written from a character standpoint, and season 2 is not. The character writing is kind of garbage when it’s what carried the first season.

i think act 1 was the weakest of them. act 3 especially ep. 7 is wonderfully executed. In general though it did live up to satisfy the show but with few downside relatively.

Charles Dance is not a well known actor??? Fucking hell, he's been around for over 40 years! He did one of the best performances of The Phantom Of The Opera which was a television mini series. I remember him best from that and The Golden Child and Alien 3. Charles Dance is a legend!
Tbf he isn't as well known in America as he would be in the UK. Same goes for Sir Ian McKellen and Christopher Lee before Lord of the Rings. The only one I know might be well known would be Sean Connery just cuz of James Bond.
Charles Dance is a treasure, but he got "worldwide famous" because of GoT, since he's usually just a bit actor in Hollywood stuff. Criminally underused.
alien 3 and last action hero are the two that come to mind for me. im sure he turns up in plenty other things but as a character actorhe blends in really well.

Yeah it took my way too long to realise there was a time jump between acts 1 and 2, didn’t really like the Mel storyline, but still love the overall season. Act 2 is a huge improvement over act 1, and come on the Warwick hug is just heart wrenching knowing it’s Arcane and nothing good will last.
I haven't watched Star Wars since episode 8. That honestly killed the franchise for me, at least in that era. I'm down for Old Republic or distant future shit, but I wouldn't trust Disney not to fuck that up.

The only way to fix Star Wars is through a hostile takeover or, to a lesser degree, a James Gunn-style approach where he essentially said, 'Yeah, I know you love the Snyderverse, but it’s not canon anymore, and we’re rebooting everything.' At least with Disney’s Star Wars, it isn’t as beloved as Zack Snyder and the Snyderverse, so it should face slightly less backlash. You’d have to remove everything Disney created from the current canon and place it in the Legends category, keeping only the OT (Original Trilogy) and the Prequels as canon. Maybe you throw in The Mandalorian, The Clone Wars, Rogue One, and Andor as a gesture of goodwill, but everything else has to go!
Before any of that, though, you’d need to clean house and fire anyone who isn’t directly involved in animation, visual effects, sound design, etc. That includes the story group, Dave Filoni, Pablo Hidalgo, and others. They’d have to go before anything else could happen!

Jedi's it's more graphic than story driven is my concern there too.
Although after the second part of the trilogy I'm more optimistic... but it's a very high benchmark and balanced very on a knife edge at the moment.
It's good to great at the moment solid 7 trending to 8 out of 10) rather than incredible (most of season 1 is 10/10).
