I totally get what you're saying. It's really not easy to sing a Brian McKnight song because apart from the massive range and power needed, you don't simply follow his runs. They are in different key, so you just don't "feel" it like any other songs, and you might get lost and you'll sound horrible trying hard, lol. One might need to repeatedly listen to the run to follow it.

Try pronouncing it like this: Pa-NGI-li-nan. The A's should sound as if you're saying grandp(A), but harder and less airy. Then li as in (Lee)/(Le)vi's. I have no examples for ngi because it's a sound that's more prevalent in SE Asia. Filipinos pronounce by the syllable, so trying to blend the sounds/letters in the surnames is a big no-no.
