@@CameraRestore There are no visible signs of a fall. I don't know about water ingress. I saw another repair video, where the author refers to a short circuit in the induction coils on the main Board. but I don't know how to be sure how to check it with a multimeter.
Most of the multimeters don’t have the ability to measure induction coils, you need a multimeter with an LCR Meter, but the right way is by measuring with an oscilloscope. If you are lucky a damaged coil can be also visible, the shape of it might slightly change. There are also two fuses on the board, check them with a multimeter. Unfortunately is not that easy to fix a motherboard without the electrical diagram and camera manufacturers don't share this stuff. Check this picture to see where the fuses are placed: ibb.co/DbXnx94 Usually, if I don't find a solution for a camera PCB what I usually do is to replace it. If you consider buying have a look at my store (link into the description)
Hi,really great video tutorial. I've got a non shutter related issue with my XE2 i don't know if you've an idea or what might be the issue from your experience. Few days ago i noticed my camera began to lose its settings anytime i take the battery out,it takes 3 to 5 seconds to power on when i hit the power switch, when i power off it shows sensor cleaning like 2,3 times before shutting down. Do you have an idea what might be the issue or can you point me in a direction to get help, thanks 🙏🏽
Hey thanks, first issue is a shutter failure, needs replacement, second might be related with the data battery, might be faulty or discharged. To try to recharge it leave the camera battery fully charged inside the camera for a full week, if still loose the memory you need to change a tiny battery that stays on the motherboard
Hi Yes, once you get the back off, the screen comes off quite easily, is hold by a double tape. Quite strange the way they made it but it is what it is. Let me know how it goes Cosmin.
I have to replace the Shutteunit on my X-A1, i can do soldering fine since my childhood days, learnt it from my father. But i am not sure, if i have the patience to-do so, and no experience exchanging a shutter unit. I used to design PCBs, and assemble these boards via soldering the semiconductors, back into the day as hobby, mostly HiFi Class A amplifier.
If i ever need to replace my XT100's shutter assembly, where can i find it ? on Amazon or Ebay i can find only for X-T1 to X-T4, and X-T10 - X-T20, is it similar to any of these ?
Unfortunately Fujifilm camera parts are very limited, almost no new parts on the market. For what I know Fuji has a bad reputation on spare parts, even with third parties service centres. I didn't have the occasion to service an XT100 so far so I don't know, sorry. One thing I know for sure Fuji use the same shutter on lots of the x series
Great video! Do you know if the fuji x100f uses spaces for the sensor too? Mine got a dirty sensor and im afraid to open it because I dont know how to caliibrate it again. (fixed lens problems)
Thanks, I’ve opened the T version but I don’t recommend to open it, very probably is not the sensor but the filter in between the lens and sensor. Anyhow you can easily take off the sensor without any problem but if you take off the filter you will need camera calibration after...
@@CameraRestore oh no 😪 I was hoping I could do what you did on this video and just blow some air on the sensor and be done with it. But you are right its probably in the filter. I did see a video of someone cleaning the low pass filter on a x100t but they never mentioned the calibration. Have you ever disassembled the lens on one of this? I was thinking maybe I can get to the sensor from the front?
Ricardo Luis Trevino Blowing air is not enough, you need a proper swab cleaning, anyhow is not an easy operation... I’ve spoken with a colleague and said you should not have calibration problems by taking the filter off, by taking the lens off yes. The lens gets disassembled from inside. Since is a really tiny camera if you don’t have any experience with repairing I would highly recommend to make this kind of work by someone with experience....
Hello, by any chance did you repaired Fujifim X-A2. I think i have same problem as you, the shutter is not opening. Is the procedure similar, I am worried of not being able to put it back together after the disassembly.
Well, there's alway something different, like screws position and size, flat connections etc... If you not have any experience with Fuji's I recommend to service it by some one with experience, specially without any tutorial of your model... The X-A1 has the same shutter that most of the x series has but the version 2 since not serviced so far, I don't know, very probably has the same one...
@@CameraRestoreonly the shutter button because it has no resistance when pressing the button but it doesn't affect my shooting its just that im a bit concern on the longevity of it
I have the same problem with my X-T20. I thought it did that because I haven't used it for about a year, and that there is some internal battery/capacitor that got drained. Can't believe that the camera needs such major operation after only 20K actuations... I am not willing to spend 200-300 on it....
I just transplanted the shutter from my broken X-E1 to my X-E2 that was suffering a broken shutter. I DID IT! woooo!
Thanks for the video!
Nice, glad to hear that 😀!
This video is so helpful! It applies to my X-E1 in most parts so yeah I really appreciate this
Glad you liked it! Thanks.
Great video ! The shutter in my xt3 is jammed, Is there a way to tell if it's a motherboard problem or a shutter problem?
If is off all time then is shutter.
Thank you for the video, I'm taking this camera apart now. Have you ever had to fix of turning on the Fuji X-E2? It doesn't work for me...
Thanks
The camera doesn't power on?

Do you know the story of it? Any water or drop damage?

Leave a fully charged battery inside for couple of weeks, might work.
