Love the LC Torana. Reminds me of the Torana the boys from Chev Off Road were running before it flipped mid track and destroyed itself. I think the very first Door Slammer I ever saw was at Calder Park in Melbourne. It wasn't classed as a Door Slammer as yet because the class didn't exist. It was owned and driven by Raff Peronti. Ironically another Torana, a Hatchback sponsored by Blanchard Holden I think from memory it was running times of around 7.25 which was a decent time for a car back in the early 90's Great to see John Zappia still racing after all these years, he must be about 99 years old now, LOL. i always like the steel bodied cars , that Holden type in video is ace. I saw once on YT many years ago a Holden "spud's Torana" sedan with a huge blown engine that was almost to much.
My dream is to have a bunch of Australia and New Zealand cars get shipped over here to the USA at a big event! I know it would be so expensive for shipping coasts, but man it would be so sweet! So you Aussie and NZ racers know, us hardcore USA fans, racers love ya all!!!😉👍

We used to have an annual race event between Alaska and Hawaii racers every year, alternating each year, the cars were transported by container ships.😉😳

Man, I wished the USA would get some utes on the street and not have to have a GIANT DIESEL SMOKE BELCHING PICKUP that never gets to any job or on a farm. I have a 4 door pickup, I’m 77 y/o and that is my last new vehicle EVER! I’d have bought a Ute with 4 wd if it was offered. But, the giant tacomas, frontiers Colorado, etc., are big and the ford ranger has a very, too small an engine. Appreciate the Dow under hp! Ill subscribe and high five!

The cars you are referring to are in unrestricted power classes.. There are two classes of cars in these Blown Car videos and they are power restricted which is why the times aren’t what you are expecting.. You’re not comparing apples to apples
Possibly in the Eastern States, few promod style 275 radial doorslammers running over there.. We really only have one running here (Gonzo’s BA Falcon Doorslammer) but hasn’t been out for a while now
The doorslammers are sitting more around the 2-3500hp range I’d say depending on the class… Our Nitro cars only run at around 3500-4500hp… Top Fuel is a whole different kettle of fish though… 10,000+ 😁
