Some player thought the dons in Aberdeen got him in his peak but then he peaked again at Leeds which was amazing winning another championship medal to add to his 2 at Aberdeen as well as 3 Scottish cups in a row and cup winners cup medals and an FA cup at the other united, but to win the 1st and second division was an amazing achievement when it looked bad till he went to Leeds. Class player one of a kind
I remember watching a Saints game once, and Strachan was just standing by the sidelines watching when suddenly a massive ball came in hoofed from upfield and Strachan didn't even seem like he moved as the ball came in from really high and fast and Strachan just deflected it off the side of his foot without hardly moving lol.... I was so impressed by that... I'll never forget it.
I was lucky enough to see him play at Aberdeen, then even better I delivered the energy drinks to Coventry, he was a really nice down to earth guy. I did see Ron Atkinson ...not so nice ( maybe an off day)
I'm a Spurs fan but really enjoyed watching Strachan and McCallister play. Them two Scots were the best I've seen in England In my lifetime. I think Robertson would be in there now too. As for Strachan he was very tricky, nimble and a good turn of pace and just an all round excellent footballer.
Strachan was one of the most influential players ever at Leeds. Was instrumental in getting us back in the top flight in 1990 and winning the 1991-92 championship. How we could do with someone of his calibre now.
Watching these goals reminds you that it's the players who need the talent to score, not the manager. A sudden burst of speed into a tiny space and 'wham' it's a goal. Stop blaming managers.
Post the Revie era for certain Strach was the greatest player and most influential player at the club. Up there with Wilko and maybe Bielsa if you include managers.
Strachan had a similar style to Messi. There was a football book i had when i was a kid in 1986 and it showed Strachan twisting up Russian players. The caption read "Scotland's Gordan Strachan leaves three Russians stricken."
it just seemed normal at the time.. the game was certainly more natural, more like a typical game in the park.. footballers today need to be like Olympic athletes..
Wolves vs Leeds, schools peno comp! Running back to halfway line, notice Strachan, jones and Sterland... Strachan turns to Jones and says he will win it.. I did 👁
Wonder if Leeds will ever be in the same class as the great Manchester United again, I went through Leeds the other day and witnessed the drug addicted fans/zombies making there way to elland road, very sad sight indeed.
Strachan was an amazing football player ❤

Strachan is a complete legend. That goal against Leicester City in April is without doubt my greatest moment as a Leeds fan ever!

セルティックの監督のイメージしかなかったよ。
That goal at home against Leicester was my best ever memory ...the atmosphere that day was unbelievable......happy happy days........

glad I got to watch him growing up. cracking player in his day. wish that penalty against seaman had been in a Scotland vs England game!
A truly great player for Leeds (and Scotland). Magic moments.
He is the best personality in the British football, thank you weeman
Strachan is a football GIANT!!!!!!!! Will be great to see Leeds win the Prem if football starts again!

The class of Strachan and McAllister laid it down...Bowyer/Dacourt and Smith carried it on...what happened after that was really sad for Leeds.

The most important Leeds player ever.
Leeds United legend... happy birthday Gordon
wow ive never watched football back then, must say it was waaay tougher to be in their boots
it just seemed normal at the time.. the game was certainly more natural, more like a typical game in the park.. footballers today need to be like Olympic athletes..
中村俊輔にプレイスタイルが似てると聞いていましたが彼はドリブラーの様ですね。
back then in the 80s i would have signed 3 or 4 aberdeen players because you're getting them for cheap.
baixinho habilidoso.
One of the best players Leeds ever had. He was good enough to play in the Revie team (although who would you leave out of that team to put him in?)
What would be your historical ideal 11 in the history of Scottish football?
Marshall.
Robertson Hansen McNeil Gemmil.
Strachan McGinn Bremner Jinky.
Dagleish Law.
Wolves vs Leeds, schools peno comp! Running back to halfway line, notice Strachan, jones and Sterland... Strachan turns to Jones and says he will win it.. I did 👁

Bellend.i go to Manchester quite often and have to watch my wallet as there are a load of scummy mancs.liverpool much nicer and friendlier
Similar attacking midfield playmaker style to Matthaus.
The Ginger Genius
Man United LEGEND

Took a Celtic team to the last 16 of the champions league twice. Shit manager indeed.
Classic. Strachan @ 4:14
4:14
strachans legs are so short it is suspicious did he have an operation to shorten his legs?
@somisak, now, now, don't be rude I was only stating what I saw!
I actually like Leeds city centre.
messi ? . They look like twins messi vs. strachan
Good player. Bad manager.
He done ok at Celtic.
i love british football but the goalkeepers(with few notable exeptions) always sucked....
baixinho habilidoso.
