Reasonable crashout. Sapphire was under the impression that, oit of anyone, she should have known. She’s the one with the remarkable ability of future vision.
In the episode "Rose's Scabbard", Pearl recalls how Rose called her "My Pearl", when they chose to fight for Earth side-by-side. Since "My Diamond" is a saying of subservience and loyalty, it's an indication that she saw Pearl as her own person and looked up to her. Wow! Rose really was following them!
@@Eco-Friend773 I think that's a bot It's replying many of the comments with a lot of unrelated things. Probably it catched Sapphire's line "can't you see I'm completely engulfed with rage?" and created a full text from it
A fun detail: Pink Diamond's mural on the Moon base and Garnet's story of her in "Your Mother and Mine", both depict her as having pointy, jagged hair. When in reality she had fluffy, rounded hair. A nice visual contrast to show how she was portrayed in stories, was quite different from who she truly was.
Pearl has to do everything her diamond tells her to... and multiple times she said "can you imagine?" So... she started thinking outside the normal pearl/gem programming. So, partly it's Pearl's fault, but also Rose's.
Can we acknowledge the fact that amethyst was the only who checked in on Steven and asked how he was feeling. She definitely became the most mature as crazy as that sounds.
Honestly really like that unlike last time, Sapphire is the more reactive one in the situation and Ruby is more level-headed. We are approaching greatness in this arc.
11:30 the 22 minute episode coming up was supposed to be the season finale, and the handful of episodes after it were supposed to be a whole 6th season, so that's the point where it starts feeling rushed. You'll probably guess why the show was cancelled when you get to it, but Rebecca Sugar really wanted one specific thing in the show even if it meant it'd be cancelled, and worked out a compromise where they got a few extra episodes to wrap up the story despite that, the whole time Rebecca Sugar had been pushing for a movie as well, and as the final episode was starting to enter the animation phase, CN saw that the show had great ratings and approved the movie, but they also said there was no point in a movie without more show to promote so they gave her another season as well. of course by then it was too late to change everything, so that's how we got SU Future. also the movie was made on a super tight deadline. Rebecca Sugar only had one month to write all of the songs, and imo the movie has most of the best songs in the series
Its funny how In Garnet's perspective, Pearl was terrifying in that moment in the forest when there's no way she could act that way after almost fusing with one of the matriarchs that she fell in love with
I will honestly vouch for Rose/ Pink Diamond because she's so complicated and a good character in my eyes. I would ramble but spoilers and that's too long
It's interesting that Sapphire let steven get close to her close to her when she was in that emotional state about Pink. She should of not have been trusting steven asking him if he is still pink or not.
fun fact the writers NEVER wrote garnet's dialog with questions, since rose told her "never question anything because you're the answer" and since it was a order from a diamond she never could
Garnet didn't know that Rose Quartz was a Diamond. This thing kind of annoys me, as Rose didn't ask or tell Cotton-Candy Garnet to never question anything, but from the context not to question things that have no objective answers and never will (i.e. the questions she was babbling about...and she even gave Steven the answer she'd eventually arrived at: love.). It reminds me of Pearl back in Rose's Scabbard: Pearl was all for Rose keeping secrets as long as she believed Rose would never do that to her; and Garnet, who'd already admitted that Rose kept secrets gets put out because Rose kept a secret that somehow affected the rationale for Sapphire and Ruby being together, which it didn't. Hypocrites.
That's simply not true. Only pearls have binding orders, every other gem can choose not to follow a diamond's order. Like how peridot back in season straight up refused to obey to yellow diamond. I don't know why people bring this up because in the show they even say that the reason why garnet never questioned herself is simply because she trusted rose
Forgot to comment this on the last episode but there was one cool detail pretty early on in the show that hinted at Pink Diamond (PD) being smaller than the other Diamonds. When we first go to the Moon Base way back in the Season 2 episode "It Could Have Been Great", we see the base's command center area with what looks like a throne and a computer-like console. The throne is big, but not gigantic. Steven and Peridot manage to snugly sit side-by-side on it. So not big enough for someone like Yellow or Blue Diamond to sit on. And as we see in the flashback in this episode, that throne used to be PD's when she was still running the Earth colony. Which makes sense since on the alien moon base we saw in "Jungle Moon" this season, Yellow Diamond had a similar setup and throne. Based on the Earth moon base's smaller sized throne, one could have guessed that Pink Diamond herself was smaller than the others. I just think that's a pretty cool and subtle detail they managed to sneak in.
At this time I had asked why Pink Diamond didn't revolt as a Diamond and call her legion of red-hued Gems to her cause. This episode and Can't Go Back show how PD was a mere cipher, practically an Off-Color dwarf of a Diamond with no real power of her own. Evidently a "Rose Quartz" who had managed to successfully thwart the Diamond Authority in general and Pink Diamond in particular had more street cred. Continuity error: In Too Far, Peridot the Kindergarten expert deduced that Amethyst had emerged 500 years after the others; here before the "thousand year" rebellion had even started the other Amethysts had already emerged. Had Amethyst emerged according to Too Far, she would have come out in the middle of the Gem War and be corrupted at its conclusion like all the other active and exposed Gems.
Yeah @baraxor, Pink was pretty much the 'runt of the litter' to the other Diamonds. If she publicly led the rebellion, they probably never would've even taken it seriously. No wonder she thought they didn't care about her. Odds are, she thought they wouldn't care enough to retaliate with the Corrupting Light when she was "gone".
@@Eco-Friend773 If Peridot had said "at least 500 years" then there would be no problem, as it would be evident that she couldn't determine an upper range time limit for the exit marks. However, she didn't even say "about 500 years"; and it would be unlikely that an expert like Peridot would make a 100%-plus error in that kind of time estimate.
And here we are 1:17 bc she froze it, yeaj 3:06 NICE 7:50 lol this moment vs Garnet's -- with Garnet's making her seem scary and guarded when it's more like, just coming down from being flustered - I can't remember how it was put in the post I once say

imagine the war you were fighting for thousands of years.. the one where you're one of the sole survivors all your friends died, shattered and turned into monsters where their consciousness is trapped in that form but they cant do anything about it. only to find out that the war was... fake. Rose was fighting herself and lying about the whole thing.. it's kind of selfish when you think about it, but the end we get to see it pay off.
The rebellion wasn't selfish. From the beginning, Pink was fighting to save life on Earth. But when Garnet showed up, she wanted to fight for other gems too.
Apparently the war didn't start for real until after Pink Diamond was "shattered". If I interpret Blue Zircon correctly, the Rose Quartzes were known threats for several hundred years prior to the shattering, indicating that the low-grade rebellion of hit-and-run raids and sabotage had been continuing through that period, when the Crystal Gems consisted of only Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz, Pearl (in secret or shapeshifted), and perhaps Bismuth and a few others; certainly, no army. Yes, prior to the shattering Pink Diamond was directing both sides, but with few if any casualties. It was only after Blue and Yellow Diamonds' ultimatum to Pink that we saw in Can't Go Back that Pink was forced to admit that it was no longer practical to carry on a shadow war.
I have a genuine question, and I don't even mean to be snarky when I ask this, but how could Pink have gone about it and not be selfish? I've racked my brain for a way that she could have saved the earth, considering the resources she had at her disposal, and how terrible her role models were at how to consider other people's feelings and how her actions affect others. I want to know other people's ways of thinking about this so I can have a broader perspective.
