They should just require a drop when shots are essentially out of reach.
Should always carry one opposite handed iron in your bag; most likely the six since nobody uses that club anyways.

I use it alot
Played for years with a light bag. 1 & 3 woods and the odd numbered irons. Later in life never felt the need to use the in betweens. Wouldn’t have made any difference.
