Love your old camera reviews, picked up a EOS 6D for cheap and using the 28-135 lens looks great. It's great fun. I have Olympus cameras going back to the original OM-1.
This guy represent a lot of us: people who want a good photo for a reasonable price without tye hustle of running after te last trends because we just love photography as an art and not a gear race.
What a storyteller you are😊. I own several ‘old’ Olympus camera’s and Ft lenses. E-1, E-500, E-510, E-3 and 14-42, 40-150 and my alltime favourite 50-200. I agree that the ccd sensors of E-1 and E-500 are special. I do not own the E620, but might be an option for me. You mentioned a lot of things the E-620 offers, but you did not mention a very special option that few cameras have…illuminated buttons, so you don’t have to curse when out in te dark…’Hey…I can see what I’m doing’. Thank you for your very nice review of this Olympus gem👍🏻🍀
I took your advice and my E-620 arrived from Japan yesterday and so far I'm amazed at all the functions and the lenses are great!!! i got a kit with two zoom lenses and they're both minty new!!! and it only took 5 days to arrive to me in South Carolina. I'm looking forward to spending more time learning all the functions and seeing what kind of photos I can get with it. really enjoying your videos :-)
15 years ago I was dreaming about Fuji S5Pro. I bought it last year for around $200 with 18-70mm lens. I realy love those old and very interesting cameras. Every producer had it's own quirks and features. And btw. S5Pro has an amazing DR, just expose for shadows.
I’m learning on an Olympus E-420. Picked it up for 45 bucks shipped on eBay with lens! Had to buy a battery and charger but still only in for 70 bucks!! I love this thing!! Having a blast!!
Just picked up an E620 with 14-42, 40-150 AND the brilliant 30mm f3.5 macro, which reviews called one of the sharpest lenses ever tested. All in like-new condition. All for the princely sum of $180! I love picking up cheap old gear and giving it new life.
Love your talk...very kind appearing guy...but the colors o t Olympus E 620 lttle flat but quite natural... I purchased a E 410 for 24 Euros last Week because I found a complete Kit with Bag (E500) on the junkjard...CF Slot with broken pins so I had to get a new body...but its fun shooting with an older SLR...Gooood lenses, thats true
Thanks Carmine! Haven't used the E600 but every other Olympus DSLR is incredible. Great that you're showcasing these older classic which are still going strong! You can see where the OM-D series got its inspiration for design. Take care. Great photos by the way - if you have, you have it.......
Hello, OLYMPUS has been around a long time making high quality cameras and lenses. I had several OLYMPUS 35mm film cameras that always performed great.
The good thing about a plastic lens mount is, if dropped the lens mount will break, which can be easily replaced. The camera lens mount is steel, and I think, would last a long time...that is easy to replace also.
Maybe you don't want to spend $1,000. on a digital camera and lens. The Olympus E-600 DSLR is the answer. The 12mp Camera and AF ZOOM lens used in this video, COST $198.
I just picked up an Olympus E620 yesterday, mostly because I wanted the Olympus 12-60mm lens attached to it. It was labeled as junk and the price was 5000 Japanese yen (yup, I live in Japan). At the current rate it was about $40 USD. The staff in the 2nd hand store said it didn't work and the lens was "cloudy". I flipped the switch and it powered up just fine, The lens locked focus fast, and the image seemed pretty clear to me. I dropped the cash and walked out happy with my fully-functional "piece of junk". Today I gave it a good cleaning, upgraded the firmware, and took it out for some test images. I'm still happy and have no guilt spending five thousand (Yen) on it!
bought Another good video from your good self. seriously thinking of buying one of these to add to my recently acquired E-520. Interestingly regarding 4/3rds lenses...I have found that the early versions of the kit lenses, have metal mounts are better built, chunkier and more robust. Just bought one for £15 untested and works really well.ht one for £15 untested and works really well.
After watching 40+ of your videos, I just got the Olympus E-510 with 40-150 lens for $48, plus had to buy a battery for under $10 total $58 for a great camera system (Original Price in 2007 $999 body & $260 lens total $1,259.00. In 2023 dollars $1,825.00. The only problem was I ordered microSD to XD adaptor didn't work so had to return them and bought instead a 2GB CF card for under $14. I believe it will hold about 500 plus images which is way more then enough for me even if I spray and pray. (Folks don't spray and pray unless you are a stringer for the media)
Good review , just bought one of these with 14-42 lens , I already have two other four thirds lenses I use on MFT with adaptor , I’m in the u.k and these are hard to find at the right price .. awaiting delivery in the next few days but everything you said gels with my views
I have an EPL 5 that I picked up for $154 a couple of years ago. I lusted after the Fuji X70 for years, but the price never drops and they don't have IBIS, no interchangeable lens and no option for adding an EVF. I picked up a pristine EM1 Mark II for $600 several months ago, but the EPL 5 is my most frequent companion.
Hi Carmine, what an excellent video, I've been considering buying one of the E series cameras, and you know what, I'm looking for a 620. I agree that Olympus produce some of the best lenses on the planet, even their kit lenses are superb. Thank you my friend. Regards Rob (UK})

liked and subscribed--was thinking about a full frame-but sheesh (prices and grade). primarily an avaricious collector of both film and digital--this one i'll give a try.
As an owner of a still working and active user of my olympus e-620 I love the camera however I am not sure on one thing and that is software updates the camera is on the original 1.0 software but I'm not sure if any new software has came out or how to put it on the camera do you have any thoughts (Edit) also where do I get that diffuser

Hello, unfortunately 😕 my research on the blinking I.S. 1 or 2 does indicate trouble with image stabilization .however the camera is absolutely still able the produce excellent photographs and videos...
Carmine i was weighing up recently buying one of these e620 or even the e-3 or e-5 purely because as you said they are inexpensive and you can grab a load of the glass quite reasonably priced - i just dont know how capable they are or if for instance the money would be better going to a first generation micro four thirds body such as an EM1 MK1?
Hello, Thank you for watching my video. For your "daily shooter" grab the Olympus OMD EM1 MK1, but for fun, as a secondary camera, the e620 is perfect :)
@@CarmineTavernaPhotography yeah I love it i picked it up back in 2019 i still have it and use it on family trips and birthdays, great video about it btw

"Older" digital cameras, are like our elders, we can certainly learn from, and appreciate them.
They set the standard!

Hey, with inflation hitting everyone for everything, it's good to know photographers can still find low cost, but high quality camera gear.

Happy anniversary to this video :)
I also like the older Oly cameras, sadly some of mine are non functional.
Hi what was the difference between the e520 and e620?
Here is the info you need; cameradecision.com/compare/Olympus-E-520-vs-Olympus-E-620
People spent hundreds on cameras and don’t understand the fundamentals or understand photography styles. Magically they expect a Leica to make the Steven Mcurry.
Does it has a ccd sensor kodak?
