The series follows the lives of four teenage girls-Aria Montgomery, Emily Fields, Hanna Marin, and Spencer Hastings-whose clique falls apart after the disappearance of their leader, Alison DiLaurentis, until her body is found is when they join together again at her funeral where they immediately begin receiving text messages from an anonymous source, "A", who threatens to expose their secrets-including long-hidden ones they thought only their close friend Alison knew. As the show continues they discover more secrets that can harm not only them but the ones around them. They also discover clues that may lead them to find out the identity of 'A' and Ali's death.

That's a good point! Never thought of that. And really, they all had a motives. Spencer because she was probably tired of Ali being so bossy and trying to run everything because we know Spencer's competitive. Plus Ali threatened to tell Melissa about her and Ian. Emily because she could've been upset that Ali rejected her. Aria because if Ali told Aria's mom her dad was cheating on her with Meredith, her parents would get divorced. And Hanna because Ali thought she could treat her like crap.
