It actually isn’t.... Ceramic bearings don’t really have any performance benefits and on top of that although Chris King is thought to be one of the best manufactures of hubs, they’re actually not all that great. Lots of proprietary parts and super heavy for the price you’re paying. Enve makes nice products, but their aero claims on their aero wheels are just marketing bs.
@@astrayagrarian Chris King hubs are high quality, their only issue is that they’re overengineered and heavy. Proprietary parts on their own are not a bad thing, especially since every single major manufacturer has their own proprietary parts in some form. It’s when manufacturers use proprietary products to cut costs that things go downhill. And yes, this is very common, but it’s not always the case - Cannondale SISL2 crankset for example. With the big focus on aero nowadays weight doesn’t matter anymore. I don’t know anything about Enve’s testing methods but I trust that they are one of the few wheel manufacturers that actually gather wind tunnel data instead of just using CAD software to simulate wind and making a rim based on that.
very similar just now these wheels come with ceramic bearings and the rovals do not and the rovals are not tubeless ready and the enves are.... but in terms of performance and aerodynamics almost similar

enve hubs are amazing they are really nice, dont sound exactly like ck but they are some nice sounding hubs and def hold there own in the high end wheel department

Owww plsss 😩 Chris king hub... So beautiful hub I'll ever seem.. i like to buy..but I don't have money... Still watching from the Philippines and I wish someone give a gift a hub like that.. 😩 or give away...I'll support until I'll die
The dt Swiss 240 with 54tsounds much better and does not have such an oscillating sound as the CK . I have 240 DY with 54t on my 6.7 and r45 on some enve 4.5 and the Chris King is so so in comparison in my opinion. And the dt rolls longer . Chris King is overrated as to the hubs in a few ways , one the sound two the roll duration is not very impressive and especially working on them is a hassle vs the dt Swiss .
That Wahwahwahwahwahwah sound is a bit disturbing. I know most bike wheels do this but one wheel brand I've notice not so much of this is Campagnolo wheels. Now if a car was this unbalanced we wouldn't be able to achieve speeds of over 60mph. This is somewhat proof that machining of hub parts is done as cheap as possible and not perfect. Can you at least balance the wheels before you show these sound tests? It isn't hard to do.
Love that sound. you feel faster than the speed you think you are :)
lmaoooo chris king hub sounds are amazing
This sound of hub tell people that u money to burn😂😂😂 love it
this is like the lambo engine but for bikes
lmao even includes a downshift in there for you :)

I want these so bad, but then the wheelset alone will be as expensive as my entire 2013 pinarello paris. 😂
I used to have a small bell on my handlebars. Then I got some CKPC hubs. When I want to warn somebody that I’m coming, I just stop pedaling now.
hahahahhahaha
That's what the hub sounds for. Lol.
Bell: 20 US
CK hubs: 500 US
Makes sense
V tech just kicked in Yo
the sound ressonate on the carbon rim having a bassy sound😁
shitis deep
Yasssssss super Nice ❤
Jake brake sound for bikes . Sounds awesome!!
How does this wheelset compare to top end rovals?
very similar just now these wheels come with ceramic bearings and the rovals do not and the rovals are not tubeless ready and the enves are.... but in terms of performance and aerodynamics almost similar
They are heavier (183g) compared with roval rapid (lighter)
Its like a downshift but on a bike haha sick
hahahhahahha I know right???? they do put some serious technology in those hubs :)
its change sound awesome😊
I prefer when I ride by the mountains the sound of silence.
this is true
That is poetry.

get a hub service on there masybe bearings need to be serviced
I really do not get the fascination with hub sounds. What exactly is it that we're supposed to excited about here?
idk preferenece just like car muffflewrs and exhaust
I’ve been running these for a year on a gravel bike. They’re great! But they need to be adjusted.
yes at first they had a little play side to side but we got that handled
awesome👍 and pricy😩😉 still waiting for my SL7 Pro, maybe i get some enve on it. Do their more standard hubs also work well and sound good?
I have Enve 5.6 disc with alloy Enve hubs. They work great and sound almost exactly like this. CK hubs are a waste of money if you ask me.

You think the ceramic upgrade is worth it,
yes all day, if you have the money and nothign else to upgrade, if you already have carbon wheels then go with this upgrade you will love it
I would have liked to see the whole spin from start to finish. Nice setup. Any performance gains?
next time I will do for you the whole spin
@@GCPerformance18 I'm trying to upgrade to full ceramic bearings. I wanting on the service manual to come in.
Hi, the durability of this type of hub with ceramic bearings is compromised by cyclists weighing over 100lbs?
really well I am 200lbs and I run ceramic everything hub bearings and bb bearings
hey is this the R45D ceramic?
yes it is
THE BEST!!! I WANT THAT TOO BUT I HAVE NO MONEY :((
you will get there for sure
i honestly thought this is gonna be some funny ass video like what you did on the ceramicspeed test
