Metal Fabrication Demo - Pencil Holder Part 2

This is part two of a demo on how to fabricate a steel pencil holder in the Tyler Metal Shop. We left part one with shaping our bent form from the Hossfeld Bender Bulldozer Die, and correcting the bends using a hammer and a pipe to dial in the shape. In this video we will see how to clamp our part in place and prepare it for welding. You will witness a brief overview of the welding process focusing on fitting the part up and making sure all the surfaces are aligned before and during welding. We then investigate some grinding techniques to practice getting a good finished part. This is intended as reference material for students enrolled in the Tyler Sculpture program. Please observe all safety guidelines outlined by your instructor and never work unsupervised or with any equipment you have not been trained on.
