I’d like to know if someone has taken this wallet through its paces? How did it handle it. I have no doubt it’s done well. Stories are awesome, let’s hear it!
walletopia. This was my first minimalist wallet AND I believe you rated this a bit too low. I purchased this version (same color too) from Saddleback some 5+ years ago. I routinely carry 8 cards AND cash (4-6 bills). This wallet works, it takes on whatever I do with ease carries on.....well it’s got another 95 years to go, so it’s just getting started. Overall an EXCELLENT wallet for someone who doesn’t carry lots of credit cards and cash. 👍👍👍👍
I would really like if you could review the version of this wallet that only has the corners sewn so you can more easily insert cash. I'm currently carrying 8 cards and about 6 pieces of cash in mine. It really is a great wallet.
I just had the wallet replaced after 11 years of use. It finally got so worn that the card slots were loose enough that I lost a card. I contacted Saddleback Leather and sent pics, and while they could not fix mine, they honored the warranty by shipping me a new one for free! Talk about a company standing behind their product. I just received the new design yesterday that has one corner unstitched so I will have to see if I like the change. I have 3 of their wallets and this one is my favorite.
I bought one of these in 2012. Been using it since then, carrying 6 cards, 1 rfid-blocking card, and some paper money. I guess it's going to outlive me.
Great review, i've had mine maybe 10 years plus. Love it. Used every day as it's only ever been my only wallet. I can believe it will outlast me with the 100 year warranty.
By far my favorite wallet. I've been using it daily for a little under 3 years, and I've never thought of getting anything else since. I keep 4 laminated cards, a paper insurance card, usually 2 or 3 (small) bills in it and it's perfect. Their customer service is awesome as well.
I've had this wallet for about five years, and I love it. I regularly carry 12 cards, and up to 5 bills folded in the upper-most slot. Over the years it has stretched to nicely carry the extra cards. The patina is really nice like you stated, and the stitching is holding as strong as day one. I do wish it was a bit easier to access the cash, but for such a versatile and minimalist wallet, it's worth every penny.
I don't have this one, but I've carried one of their regular bifold wallets for about fifteen years. After fifteen years of use some of the stitching had come loose. I sent them pictures and they shipped me a brand-new wallet free of charge. I also have a laptop bag from them that I've carried for about five years and it looks like it has another 100 years left in it.
I have carried this wallet off and on for 15 or so years and the tobacco brown has gained a nice patina,I see why they give a 100 year warranty. Saddleback has redesigned it, if you would please do a review on their current offering.
Love the old style, love mine. The new model is eh...but now I'm looking for one with a money clip. Wish they could make the same design as this one but with a money clip
I've been using this wallet for years. Still my favorite slim wallet, perfect for holding my commuter train pass. With a KardKey in the wallet, I don't even need to carry a keychain.
I keep most of them for future comparisons, 2nd LOOK reviews or upgrade evaluations. We also do drawings on many of them for our subscribers on the Walletopia website
@@walletopia saddlebackleather.com/leather-wallet-mens-front It's a bit hard to tell from the pictures, but the new design is not sewn shut on two sides leaving it much easier to insert cash into the top. I've had the old model for years and just got the new one in a few days ago and have to say that I think the new design is ingenious and provides much better usability. Would love to see your review.
I bought this at least 5 years ago. I will never own anything else. Front pocket is the only way to go. The main slot is where I carry my cash. If you are someone who carried 15-20 bills at a time it’s probably not the wallet for you. Since I mainly use plastic, i might keep a few 50’s in there. It can easily accommodate half a dozen bills folded over.
I was impressed with this wallet. Has anyone tried to put up to 14 cards in this style of wallet? I'm looking for a minimalist that can hold up to 14 cards and hold a little cash. Any recommendations, suggestions, ideas?
Not yet. With the way the scoring is weighted, and the way vendors push pricing beyond materials cost. I’m not sure when we will get there. For example, if a vendor like Anson Calder would sell their wallet for $60 instead of $125, it would put their score up into the high 4’s. But, I don’t think we will see that.

They may not be the prettiest wallets out there, but they will survive about anything, they're built to last!

The newer version on their site has one side partially open to facilitate cash entry.
Benjamin Gulker do you think the new version is better? I think i still like the old one
After 7 years I reorder new one, it is thiner but cash is easier to put in/out
The new one seems to have a more open center cavity, I wonder if that is an improvement?
I don’t know why, but I am excited to watch this video. Is that bad? 😃

Are you planning to re review this wallet since it have seen an updated verision :)

Thanks so much for the video! Wondering why the quality was given 4/5 and not higher since it's full grain leather?
The Quality measure includes more than just the leather, but also the overall construction and fit/finish.
What do you do will all the wallets you review?
I keep most of them for future comparisons, 2nd LOOK reviews or upgrade evaluations. We also do drawings on many of them for our subscribers on the Walletopia website
I think I would prefer this older design over the new one :\
pls review the new version of this wallet plssss
Hi Kim, can you shoot me a link so I know which one (I'd hate to grab the wrong one).

Hi Jay, is this the one you're referring to? www.amazon.com/Saddleback-Leather-Co-Medium-Warranty/dp/B003JX8GV0
@@walletopia 👍 yes
I would love this wallet if it didn't grip the cards so much
I understand that as you use it, it loosens up (as all leather will), but you do have to "train" it a bit.
it Failed me twice. The company was to replace it for me
Chrome tanned leather and unfinished edges!
