I remember exactly where i was when this was happening, i was walking to work and just left Hunts on Southmead road and traffic stopped as it came over so low i could almost touch it. I remember the detail down to what i brought in the shop lol a packet of lamb and mint walkers sensations. I carried on walking and the heavens well and truly opened!
@@KurdistanLazo yeah but the concorde was a massive money sink and attracted much lower passengers in its final years. the sonic booms meant its actual usability was very limited (basically only services over oceans were viable)
Hi James, I lived on the hill west of the Severn and I remember the prototype being flown over our house and turning to go back to Fairford. That was before the engine noise was moderated. To say that it shook me is an understatement!! I later moved to SE London on the LHR inbound flight path and saw it every day. If that was not enough we could hear sonic boom of the Air France Concorde coming up the Channel (they put an end to that!)
Well followed with the camera there. And youve captured the sound well too. You could always tell when concorde was flying over. It had such a distinctive sound, different from your normal planes. Like its saying - im coming over - come out & look up at me.
It wasn't it's subsonic noise that people complained about. I lived in Cornwall while it was still operational and as it came in from the Atlantic you'd hear the sonic boom which at times was loud enough to rattle the workshop roof where I worked. It's two loud bangs, there is videos on here of sonic booms. It never bothered me in fact it was nice to hear her coming in but there was a number of people who complained about it.
CORRECTION TO ABOVE. Concorde (316) the last one ever made, in 1979, reg , G---BOAF, made the final Concorde Landing in the world, at FILTON BRISTOL, on WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 26th, 2003. WHERE SHE NOW (AT LAST) RESIDES IN HER WONDERFUL NEW MUSEUM. GO SEE HER.
What the actual flip flops?!!! I saw the last 3 land from my work in London & it was nothing like this!! Good old Brizzle got a better look at them than London!🤣🤣🤔 Did they do a goodbye low flyby?
@@JP_TaVeryMuch No. Plenty of rich folks about to take care of that. Plenty of money in those circles. Note..it was grounded shortly after 9/11. That's no coincidence. Thy took away 2 great icons in the space of 2 years. Now thyre destroying everything else . How it looks to me.
I still think it is one of the most beautiful aircraft ever!!!
Who could argue with that. In modern terms, it has no equal.
I was at Filton Airport to see it land, I was 9. Great memory.

Like it was Concorde herself crying.
One small step back for man. One giant leap backwards for man kind.
Ain’t it the truth.
not really
@@jos4669it is it would takes 3-4 hours to from America to uk while modern day jets take around 7-8 hours

Craig Pickles we had 5,500 complaints on noise and I don't doubt u
We doubt you had even 1 noise complaint 9 car. You had nothing to do with Concorde, let alone even be a pilot in her.
@@jimgemmell2831 WTF are you on about?
@@bobswan6196 on about 9 car. Keeps saying he's a former Concorde pilot. No he isn't
Amazing shot of speed bird.

Was driving up M5 and saw it go over Filton for last time..
Why on earth did people complain about the noise? That was quiet! Quieter than an A380!
It was very loud during takeoff as it required afterburners...
Magical queen of the skies....
I was there that day, grown men cried
I enjoy this airport very clean and food was delicious
????
Did u mean Bristol airport ?
Nice Video
Except in was November 26 2003
What a beautiful sight. Pity it had to run at a loss!
How do thry manage to make a cuppa at that angle

It's always been the law in the UK to pee down whenever there is a flypast or airshow, beautiful aircraft by the way very sadly missed 😢
Should have flown under the bridge
i was born in bristol :D
#Concorde's
Some may think it was Blair who killed off Concorde to appease US but I could not possibly comment
I was brown around this time
Nice job. BA should be ashamed
I've boycotted them ever since.
Bastards!
America insisted they were grounded. Not BA.
@@SuperLuckaoAnd ultimately the great power of Mammon. Replacement parts were prohibitively expensive as there was too small a stable of Concordes.
