I would recommend to work for a foreign company in Japan, if you can. My first IT job at a foreign company had a salary of over 12 million yen, which is significantly better than most Japanese companies, and it only went up after that. (And that was 25 years ago.) You also don't have to deal with the expectations of overwork and other stupid rules like not being able to take more than a weeks holiday at a time.
After the 2011 Tohoku earthquake, many foreigners just up and left Japan. That didn't go down well with employers and many companies want to know if you are committed to Japan. Learning Japanese to a high level is a good way to demonstrate that.
Could you cover more about other IT roles like design, project management, analysts, etc.?

Thank you so much for the very informative video! I wanted to say this really helps me get an insight on getting tech related jobs in Japan as a foreigner. I do have one question I’d like to ask specific to my situation, if you don’t mind:
I’m not specifically looking for IT in the form of a software engineer, but am more looking for jobs relating to UI/UX design in Japan. I’m currently a masters degree student specializing in User Experience and Human Computer Interaction fields. I also have N1 certification and am bilingual native in English and Chinese (though I’d say I’m not as fluent in the speaking part of Japanese compared to reading/listening and N1 doesn’t test that haha).
I do have some coding background and some small projects I created when minoring in CS during undergrad(major was psychology), though my coding skills are not yet in a professional level and my interests lie more in user interface design, user research, and HCI. As such I’m a bit more interested in interface design or research jobs, designing prototypes and wireframes Figma and Sketch, for example.
I’ll be graduating soon, but if I aim to try looking for fields relating to UIUX jobs in Japan, might you know if and how much the processes and odds differ from what you mentioned in the video?

to obtain a work visa it is better to complete a bachelor's degree. some people come without even expirience in IT and degree and get a job though
Would you say that a degree is necessary for an IT job in Japan? I have a certificate in IT from a six month course, but found self teaching to be a more efficient way to learn than a multi year degree program. I am also planning to sit the N1 JLPT this year, so I would say my Japanese language ability is also sufficient. Would you say this is enough to get started looking for jobs?
Thanks for asking. It'll definitely give you a wider range of possibilities if you had a degree, but I think it's possible.
The big hurdle to take is the work visa though, which usually requires a university degree or enough relevant work experience (~10 years).
Thankfully you can get around that requirement by taking a ITPEC certification, which isn't too expensive and, from what I've read, requires about a month of study. It's only available in a couple of Asian countries though, for the English version, you'd have to take the test in the Philippines.
And now I'm thinking I should probably make a video on that topic.

I am currently looking for a job in japan as foreigner, the jobs from tokyo dev and japan dev are not for someone who had studied a bootcamp and worked less than 3 years. And the cotowork candidate portal has been disabled.

Yeah, it's probably better to work with the career support they provide you out of the box for the bootcamps, they should have access to the appropriate positions.

My japanese is not that good, so i plan to apply the international company and I found some japanese to help me find a job, but they said that they cannot help me.
I have already tried gittap, daijob, remoteok, linkedin, remote3, michaelpage, robert half, yaaay, jellyfish, indeed, rakuten, randstad, tokyo dev, japan dev and many more within a year, I sent almost 200-300 application, but got rejected.
If it is possible I would like to know if there is any suggestion for me...

My situation is a bit complicated, I studied a bootcamp from home country, and worked as software engineer on blockchain company for 1.5 year, and right now is searching for a Tokyo IT job before graduation from Japanese School.
I have tried to contact to the career support but they said that because I was not graduated from University on the major of CS, they cannot help me. At the same time I have sent 200+ application on Daijob, Yaaay, linkedin, rakuten, indeed, gittap, ITengine, jellyfish,Wahl+Case, Randstad, robert walter, michaelPage, tokyoDev, JapanDev, or some non-japan remote job platform, within this year, and got zero interview but rejection. I do not think studying one more bootcamp in japan is a good choice for me...

I'm not sure about gender discrimination though. I think in my company it wasn't an issue but I've heard not great things by women working in non-IT jobs.

I'd say it's the other way around: As long as you know your tech, you can find a job without needing the language.
I applied to a lot of backend developer jobs with 5 years of experience with no success. I guess being from a third world country does not help.
