Great little useful project that teaches so many TinkerCAD skills... THANKS! I printed a scaled one to 70% using Prusa Slicer and put my small camera remote in it, and it is always in my pocket, and this gives some protection to it!

i just got my first ender 3, i have never tried to make anything but i needed some custome storage boxes. i used this tut and made a custom box that fit my needs first try! thank you so much. i was also able to make a label in photoshop and place it on the box so it has the text of what it is. thank you so much man for the super simple tut. have a good one !

New here, great intro to Tinkercad as I've only used fusion 360 thus far. This was quicker and simpler to get results for simple designs for sure. Now off to have a play.

Thanks so much! This was very helpful. I thought a slit would be quite difficult to print as you'd need a lot more support to print the top piece or would need to print in 2 parts. Is there a way to know what can be printed without direct contact and when you would need support?
I also didn't know about the Workplane feature. Is there a video you'd recommend that explains more about the uses of that? I've been trying to align the bottom of one object to the top of another object - can I use Workplane to do that?
I have had good success with printing gaps like that up to about 5 cm. Some printers can do 10 cm lines. Depends on how well you have your printer calibrated and how close to the perfect temps you are using. Too hot and it cannot cool quick enough. Workplane and drop are magical. Great video, Thanks. What program have you associated your *.stl files with to enable you to see them that way in explorer?
Thank you. I will check about the association. I really do not know. I user Cura for all my slicing... but I am not sure what happens if I double click a STL.
The reason that I am asking is because your thumbnails in Explorer clearly show what the file is, where my STL files all have the same thumbnail@@HLModTech
How did the slot for the lid print with no supports?
If you have your printer dialed in pretty well it is not uncommon to be able to span a gap of several centimeters. My theory was that if it did droop a bit it would just give me more friction to keep the lid in place. I was using .3mm layers and the A8 plus knocked that out in in just under an hour and a half.
@@HLModTech thanks for the information. I'll have to check my settings for layer thickness but what is the A8?
I use .3 for everything... always in a hurry and quality is rarely on my list.. It is the lowest setting in Cura. My temps were 200 and 55 using PLA.
