I'm loving the channel. Its great watching you run these mundane programs. I especially enjoy your constant accolades for the most basic of functions. Even back when this stuff was new, I was never excited about an interactive keyboard tutorial. I would skip over those types of programs and go right to the games!

I was the same way as a kid…now I spend more time looking at the mundane items because I realize how much work programmers put into those things (and were probably skipped over by most people). Really glad you’re enjoying the videos, thanks for watching!

I think looking at the 'mundane' stuff gives us a taste of what it would be like as a new user (and an insight into how the manufacturer wanted to present their product). For me, that's very much part of the appeal of looking at different platforms from back then.

I’m loving your channel Aaron! So many memories. As a fellow Knoxvillian and computer history buff, I look forward to visiting the museum. The museum is an awesome concept, and your videos are very professional. I’d also be very interested in helping to cleanup and repair machines to full operation.
Curious, do you have or plan for any old Sun equipment like SPARCstation?

The IBM PCjr has built-in diagnostics you can use to help troubleshoot the floppy drive, memory, and other peripherals; hit CTRL-ALT-INS to start them once you see the IBM logo. The IBM PCjr Hardware Maintenance and Service manual describes these diags in more detail. For the floppy drive, usually cleaning and lubing the drive rails is enough to get most drives back up and running.

The exact same thing happened to my PCjr recently. I unboxed it after 30+ years, it booted up via floppy fine, but then no floppies would work. I'm looking forward to seeing your solution.
