Even though PIA VPN’s name speaks for itself, can it compare favorably against the industry giant - NordVPN? In this video I’m going to thoroughly compare NordVPN vs PIA, to figure out which is the best VPN for you!

Private Internet Access goes for the minimalist style, starting with a small window with basic functions and expanding for users who want to manually adjust their settings. It’s easy to navigate, though I’m not a big fan of having extra windows.
NordVPN is the opposite: it opens in a fairly large window taken almost entirely by the server choice list and the interactive map. This map is a very nice addition, I find it nice to have a better understanding of the distance between servers. All the extra settings of the app are hidden in designated tabs and they are not that hard to figure out either.

On the base level, both rely on top-grade encryption algorithm. When testing their Kill switch implementation, I had no issues with IP or DNS leaks as well. Privacy-wise, a NordVPN review shows it standing out with an audited no-logs policy. NordVPN also operates from a privacy-friendly country and uses RAM-only servers, which can’t retain user data long-term.
Is PIA VPN good for privacy? While it is based in the US, a country within an intelligence-sharing alliance, it’s also open-source, which is great for user’s privacy. PIA’s no-logs policy was also audited last year, and the entirety of PIA’s servers are RAM-only.

Looking at the speed test results between NordVPN vs PIA, the former is quite a bit faster. That said, the difference is not lethal for PIA, I had no issues with streaming or torrenting even with that speed level.
One thing I find weird is that PIA VPN no longer lists how many servers it has, only the countries they cover. On the contrary, NordVPN shows that it has 5,500+ servers in 60 countries.

never had an issue streaming with PIA, works on all the services you said it doesn't work on.

I want a vpn that has a lot of IPs and therefore bypass sites bans. Which one should I choose for that?
@user-kp1ys2ze3o I made the decision and bought Nord Vpn. It works well and bypasses some of the sites ban I want to. Now of course when speaking about Instagram, google bans etc I think the only solution is to buy a private/dedicated ip.
Both do not have UK servers as by Law, the owner must give GCHQ full access to data. PIA UK servers were in fact in Holland.

PIA has no Wireguard configs. Headless mode is a crippled abomination. 'piactl' for Linux has no kill switch.
