You're the only bass player I've seen on YT who actually plays the intro bit up the neck , sounds like it has a phaser on it so understandable if people think it's a synth.

I was in a similar situation I played guitar for 20 years before learning bass and it was much harder than I thought. We guitar players develop habits and styles and kind of conflict with bass playing. But I love playing my bass. Good luck!
