- Old video clip, now with annotations! Originally recorded on 2011.
This is not a beat making video! This is a how-to video for Korg Electribe ES-1 users (beginners only). In this video, I demonstrate how to sample, chop to a 1 bar sample and assign the sample to pad. I tried to make it as simple as possible.
All the effects on ES-1 are showcased. Please note that my ES-1 has been updated to Electribe ES Mark 2's OS / Firmware ("Wah" effect was replaced with more useful "Mod. Delay", and fixed minor bugs.)
Electribe ES-1 and ES mark 2 are internally exactly the same thing, just enclosure is different.
Thank you SO MUCH for the reupload with annotations. This is quite helpful! Now excuse me while I go get my ES1.
Muito bom!🇧🇷
On the midi side of things, can you example play a chord with a sample into the sequencer?
Each pads are monophonic, so playing a chord is not suitable task for ES-1.
@@DJShoji I dont know how the knobs are midi assigned, but would this work instead?
1. You assign the same bass sample on pad 13, 14, 15 and 16
2. You then use pitch like example 13 = 0, 14 = - 1, 15 = -2 and 16 = -3
You should then be able to play a bass melody with these 4 pads triggered from external keyboard or triggered directly on the pads.
@@decaystar That would work, but it means that you have to assign same sample to different pads, and ES-1 has only 9 pads. Also there is no sample group function, and once pad is triggered, it plays entire sample.
@@DJShoji Again thanks for the inputs, I just ordered a ES-1 cheap on eBay...wanna give it a try :D Will we soon see some new re-creation videos? ;)
@@decaystar Sorry, I don't have ES1 anymore!
Hi
Do you think you can make " I feel love " by Donna Summer on the Korg ES-1?
I no longer own ES-1, sorry!
@@DJShoji What happened, you sold it? I'm ready to dust mine off and start making some boom bap.
@@GodlessG0D I sold it long time ago.
@@DJShoji Damn, well thank you for making all the videos on it. Not many videos of people making boombap style Hip-Hop with it. Not only did you do that but you recreated some of my favorite beats and showed what it's really capable of.
