I really wonder how the borders are going to look like when the war ends. Zelensky should've negotiated with Russia in 2023 (after the Wagner mutiny) when Ukraine was at peak strength and morale, this way they would have only given up Crimea and Donbas (saving the rest of the coastline) + staying neutral with no NATO but maybe just EU membership for economy.
I know for a fact that western europe's leadership don't believe in borders.

Ukrainian government and Zelensky are too greedy. Precisely because they were at peek strength, they felt so powerful that they didn't want to negotiate until they "kicked the Russians out". However, this "strength" was an illusion. An illusion and a lie that sadly the Ukrainians believed and caused tens if not hundreds of thousands of lives in their failed summer offensive in 2023.
The absolute best deal Ukraine ever had was pre-February 24, 2022. Recognize the states of Donetsk and Luhansk as independent, stop the bombing and shelling of eastern Ukraine, remain neutral and Ukraine would've been with zero military conflict with Russia. Millions of families will still be living in Ukraine and never displaced, and millions of families would still have their sons, brothers and fathers. But no, they chose war with Russia by trying to prevent the independence of the Ukrainians that didn't wanted to remain in Ukraine after the president they voted for got kicked out. And then they got surprised that bombing an ally of Russia (Donetsk and Luhansk new independent states) brought them to a military conflict with Russia.

Crazy how people are like "That is horrible we need to save citizens" When Russia strikes fields in Ukraine and when Ukraine strikes citizen places in Russia they are like "Russian citizens shall feel what war is like! So what if these “North Koreans” were just the descendants of those who emigrated to Russia in the 1860s?
I've wondered that myself. I briefly met some fairly young guys from that immigration. Half of them were biratial, speaking Russian and an old-fashioned variety of Korean.

Absolutely, drones are not an effective replacement for artillery. Not even close. Drones are only good at harassing vehicles and knocking out vehicles. This tactic reduces their effectiveness and they have nothing left to use to stop the advance but bodies.

Ukraines Kursk area is really shrinking
The suspicion of those were North Korean troops mainly stem from the lack of armor and artillery support.
Those are SOF, not exactly front line troops. You would expect they use infiltration tactics along tree lines instead of advancing across open fields.
It depends on the time of day when the advance happened. North Koreans know how to cross large open areas quickly due to them working with the Chinese in the Korean war. They also carry little to "modern" equipment, which makes it even easier to move quickly and quietly. The Ukrianians either through the Russians would attack with armored vehicles with massive artillery and drone support, if it was a pure infantry push then Ukriane wouldn't be expecting it and were probably slacking off since they're used to fighting a specific way. The way the attacks were supposedly carried out all matches the MO of how North Korea fought in the Korean War. It's also difficult to tell if a soldier is North Korean or not, the only way to tell is from combat survivors but there haven't been any from these engagements. So it's kinda like Schridenger's cat, the North Koreans could be there fighting and they could not be. The West relies on armies looking distinctly different through equipment it's hard to tell when another faction who doesn't use equipment apart from other groups.
Special ops in north Korea means most committed to the ideology and the biggest balls of steel too, to cross an open field without a second thought

Thanks for the update & analysis Weeb! I guess someone wants us to focus on Iranian drones & North Korean troops. The narrative is being sounded. Must be super cost effective to bring those troops from the border near Korea rather than using trained positioned Russian troops closer to the Ukraine.
Russia continues to advance slowly everyday, but the Ukrainians continue to offer stiff resistance. I had thought they would have collapsed by now in the same way that the Syrian army collapsed, but they continue to hang on even as they are being driven back on almost all fronts.

It's possible those troops were North Korean, since the only way to 100% confirm is from survivors of the fights, but there haven't been any. The West relies on vehicles and equipment on satillite and drone footage to tell forces apart, but the North Koreans don't really use armored vehicles on the scale that every other military does. The way these attacks have been carried out, though, do bear the MO of how the North Korean and Chinese forces operated in Korea before the ceasefire there, large scale infantry tactics that can move quickly, quietly, and navigate minefields. The US and UN forces learned how to stop them the hardway and pretty much had to abandon heavy use of armored vehciles and just build strong points to break the attacks.
